  1. It feels very awkward. It's as if I'd have to really bend my wrists to get the clubhead back far enough.
  2. I've had more than one person tell me to keep my left arm straight. I've tried and it just doesn't feel physically possible to keep it straight when taking a full back swing.
  3. Wow, I'm going to have to check that out! I saw a one armed guy in the latest golf digest and was wowed by that as well.
  4. I find it shameful that anyone would consider keeping a club they find. This post smells of trolls
  5. I'm a newbie as well and suffer from the same ailment. I find putting a picture of Jessica Alba behind the ball helps tremendously Seriously - My brother's advice was "stop watching the ball before you've hit it" Instead of watching where the ball goes, use your mind's eye to envision the ball going to the mental picture you took when assessing the shot.
  6. I don't know how this fits into the rules, but check out this: http://www.radargolf.com/
  7. Sounds like a good idea to me, but then again it might slow down play. A separate area for warm up is probably better.

    Sunglasses

No. I wear prescription glasses that have clip-ons but I don't wear them. My optometrist said I have a lot of pigment in my eyes which makes bright light more bearable. In fact, when I wear sunglasses things tend to be too dark and I feel as if I can't see as well with them on.
  9. I use a ten finger grip. I have small hands (most men's gloves in small are still big on me). I'm still learning but I've just been able to hit better with the ten finger grip. Should I be trying to use a different grip?
  10. Just bought a Callway Warbird Hot
  11. I bought a Callaway Warbird XTT Hot bag. Looks great!
  12. I drank some on the course the other day and had 3 hole in ones
  13. It is an Otey Crisman 36H. Check out this thread . I doubt it is worth enough for me to consider selling. It was my dad's and my wife wants to mount it on the wall.
  14. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check 'em out!
  15. As a beginner, I'm playing with an old set of clubs. The putter is especially old - around 60 years old I'm guessing so I thought I'd start by replacing it. My friend said I should get a bar style putter due to the way I was putting with his (had some great putts). Any suggestions for a reasonably priced (around $50) new or used putter?
  16. How can I get my swing speed tested?
  17. Never been to a golf store! Closest one to me is about an hour drive. I plan on going soon. Need a putter...
  18. I know what you mean. Turns out that those older guys are generally the ones with all the money too...
  19. Thanks for the info, ChiChiIsMe. An Otey Crisman. I see one on ebay right now
  20. I'm not sure what it says - Otey Grisman maybe? I thought it was strange to have a wooden shaft as well. No telling if it is original. My dad could have put the wooden shaft on it as a joke, he was that kind of guy.
  21. I'm new to golf and using my dad's old set of clubs. He had them for as long as I can remember, and I'm 30. The irons are Wilsons, but I just pulled out the putter for the first time today. This thing looks ancient! Can anyone identify it?

  23. This should definitely be interesting. I can't imagine playing that course, especially with cameras rolling and a crowd. Crazy.
  24. Anyone from Northeast Arkansas?
  25. Anyone have experience with Shawn Clement's DVD ? I've been watching his youtube videos and enjoy them. If there is something more suited to a beginner, I'll check it out. But just wanted to see if anyone else has this DVD before I pull the trigger. Thanks!
