  1. I want to eliminate the big numbers, keep the ball in play more, and get my handicap below 20 this year.
  2. The biggest for me would have to be the skulled approach shot into the weeds after a nice drive into the fairway. Nothing has made me want to break a club more than that.
  3. I currently still possess my Taylormade RBZ 3 wood from like 2012-3. I do not think I will ever do away with that club to be honest (unless I get fitted and find something much better suited for me).
  4. I always enjoyed playing sports outside. Baseball was my game, but as an adult, you can never find enough people to play. Was introduced to golf in my early teens and was always drawn to it, but would only play ever once in a while. Now, as I’ve gotten older, and my friends have started families, it’s very hard to even hang out with friends anymore. So started going golfing by myself, and just fell in love with the sense of aloneness and just me against the course and trying to overcome adversary. Now, as I’ve been playing more and more, Ive found myself being driven to improve my game (for one, if you lose less balls, it’s cheaper to play).
  5. Was years ago. All I had before this was a set of clubs my dad bought at a garage sale for $7 (including bag), and then later my dad gave me his old set when he got new ones. Eventually I went and bought a Taylormade r7 (that’s got to be what, 15 years ago at least).
  6. Honestly everyone that I have been randomly paired up with have been great. Some of my friends and their acquaintances are another story. One of my friends brought another friend with him. By the time we got past the turn, he is raving that if all he has to do is improve his putting a bit and he could go pro. Guess he totally forgot about the 5 mulligans he had on the front 9 alone. Then on the back, he starts talking smack about how he outdrove me on this hole. He used a driver, I used a 4-iron, and he only out drive me by maybe 10 yards. Now, I don’t exactly pound the ball down the fairway at all, but I it was just ridiculous how much he has to stroke his ego.
  7. 1) To be able to finish 18 holes without losing a ball. 2) to consistently string together a few attempts at birdie in any round. 3) continue to improve my ball striking. 4) to improve on my short game.
  8. 1. Lose weight (lost 20 lbs since 2021 started already) 2. Walk the course more 3. Consistently shoot below 100 4. Score in the low 90s or better at least once this year. 5. Continue to bring my handicap down. (Hopefully into the teens this year). 6. Spend less money on golf balls (Avoid water and the woods).
  9. I use a gps watch myself, but hadn't played this particular course before and wanted to be able to reference the hole from an aerial view quickly. I do not have photoshop or anything like that. So, what I did was use google earth on my phone, took screenshots, and then uploaded them to powerpoint and made slides. then i printed out the presentation outline (like three slides per page), then cut them out. i only laminated the front and back covers. Honestly, I did this because I was bored one day, and was watching youtube on how to do it (there are plenty of good tutorials, although you get much better results with photoshop). I said to myself, "I should try that." I think I may try to get photoshop soon and try to make some better ones.
  10. Play more golf this summer. Consistently shoot in the 90s and below Lower my handicap to at least the low 20s Hit more fairways Hit more GIR
  11. Surprisingly, it was not too bad. I would say total time from start to finish was about 6 hours over two days. I am planning on doing a couple more for some other course I routinely play.
  12. My goals for 2020 are to just play more, to consistently shot in the 90s or better, and to work on my putting. My driving and iron play has been pretty good since last year. I actually got a GIR on a long par 5 last week even after slicing my tee shot onto another fairway, which had me pumped for this year.

  14. So I am playing a course tomorrow that I have not played before, and looking at the layout, I decided to create my first yardage book, just to see if I could. All I used was Google Earth, PowerPoint, a printer, scissors, laminating sheets, hole punch, and binder rings. Did not turn out too bad for my first attempt. Now that Covid has me staying at home all the time, I have plenty of free time to tinker around. Let me know what you guys think. I only laminated the front and back cover so I can leave the rest to write notes.

    Golf Truths

Every time you get a birdie, the next 3 holes are guaranteed to get no better than double bogey.
  16. I think upgrading is a good idea. Especially if you find a set that fits you well. You can probably stop at dicks and try out different clubs to find ones that match what you are looking for. These burner2.0s I got fit me perfectly, and I really like the way they feel, plus love the consistency I'm getting at getting the ball down range.
  17. I was just playing some cheap hand-me-downs and other that I found at garage sales over the years. I bought a taylormade r7 driver a couple years back so I've been really wanting some good irons to go along with it. Even though I always shoot well over 100, I still love the game and am looking for every opportunity to get better.
  18. Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I've been playing golf for a long time but still have not developed like I had hoped I would as far as my playing ability. So just went out and got myself a new set of irons and I must say I am very impressed with the results. After a rough start at the driving range, I made some quick adjustments to my set up and swing, and bam, I'm hitting the ball crisp, straight, and far on a consistent basis. I love the products Taylormade has brought to the market. They really help a high handicapper like myself. I can not wait to get on the course and play 18 holes with these clubs and my added confidence.
