Are my days carrying 2-iron over?
Mr Taylormade replied to onthehunt526's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i tore ligaments in my knee, it was my left knee though and i can just wear a knee support in order to play -
mizuno irons are ranked as some of the best in the world which say something about their quality
-
the 14th at my course is a par5 510yard uphill monster. i always play it with 4i tee 4i fairway pw pitch and then hav two putts. those that count. when i was younger me and my mates used to play the first 7 holes using only 6i and putters for pro vs or infamous callaway blues
-
chris rock was the other guy. i have no respect for anyone who needs a cart to play 18. i play 18 holes every week without fail, if not more! i carry my tour bag and finish the same as i start. i played off 1 untill i broke my knee and im still capable of carrying my bag. whats your excuse!

i only use my 52* from 100 yards in. i take a big divot with my wedge before long shots to fill the grooves with as much mud as possible

if you get hit by somebody behind you and your on your own or with another person your not playing fast enough. i was playing in comp last year with two mates. 1 landed in the bunker beside the green in front of the clubhouse balcony. the other walked onto the green to putt. needless to say the guy in the bunker skulled his shot and sent a stinger across the green which hit the other guy just above his nXXts. he started crying with relief it wasnt 2 inches lower. :) i ended up shooting 7 over on the back and level on the front. happened on hole 9 and i nearly died laughing

Mr Taylormade replied to Golfaway's topic in Golf Talk
congrats i made a qualifier in march, with 44, couldnt play the bigger event on the better course because of age issues:( i was mad :) -
when i caddy for my mate i dont say anything except tell him which way it breaks and how the wind's blowing or he would throw the club at me. (i do the same to him) haha

no difference other than aesthetics

try to pick up a taylormade rescue dual tp. they fly lower than irons and have roughly the same distance. its a real players club but works well in deep wet rough
-
thats golf, sergio is accurate off the tee and awful at putting. when his putting is good he cant drive straight.

High Handicaper's Next Irons?
Mr Taylormade replied to Wekims's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
taylormade r7 irons, if you can find a set. there 2-3 years old now but they will fit like a glove according to how you described your swing. -
i carry my tour bag. dont even notice it anymore, nut at the start id die going up 14, partly because of the bags size partly because it has a severe hill turning a 480 yard par 5 into a 530yard monster with a dog leg

How important is a steady head?
Mr Taylormade replied to mcman1's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i always play well when i hav a crick in my neck, because i cant move it too well. never shows on my scores though because it tends to make me cranky and i lose concentration rather quickly, which draws me to my second point. "steady head" did you mean keeping calm while playing as i think this is something that seperates us from the pros. if you can play one hole at a time then your scores are garanteed to drop. if you can play each shot with the mindset of playing only that shot and making it perfect i think you could be the next tiger. his concentration while playing is unmatched -
Putter woes (now doubting myself lol)
Mr Taylormade replied to DavidFehertysBike's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
may i suggest that if that doesnt work you aima little left haha. hope you sort it out man there is nothing worse than missing a putt to the right except leaving it short -
Scotty Circa 62 : what don't i know.
Mr Taylormade replied to lobsterzilla's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
it came out close to the redx. im guessing the redx seemed more like a specialist club in the mallet catagory and the circa couldnt compete thus depreciating. -
Project X or S300's?
Mr Taylormade replied to curiousphoton's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i got fitted for my AP2's about 3 months ago. i found the projectx shaft balloned the ball, werent as long and felt like boards. got alot more feel, lower trajectory and distance out of the DG's. get fitted pick what you feel is right. -
shafts rust from the inside out. my Ap2's are the same, not worried about it. i live in ireland so they see a lot of wet weather. you can prevent this from happening if you rub they down with a towel that was steamed and leave the sit next to a radiator for an hour or too. if you have a tour bag make sure the plastic on the inside isnt damp. hope it helps. my shafts are dgs300 by the way,if you need to compare.

190-195 Ap2's with DGs300
-
i agree with everyone above get fitted on a moniter and test as many as possible. pick the one which gives you the spec you want. you could also try teeing the ball lower like a fairway wood then you might get that kind of flight :)

Putter woes (now doubting myself lol)
Mr Taylormade replied to DavidFehertysBike's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
try keeping your left elbow tucked in tight to your side and allow your left hang freely. get used to it and go back to normal gradualy and you'll work it into your swing. hope it helps
