I hit a 300 yard drive to the green on a short par 4, with he wind at my back (i didnt realise since i normally come up 20 yards short or so) SO im standing there waiting for this guy to finish on the green so i can putt, he finished like 8 putting and his wife finishes. I start to apologise and tell him how the wind was at my back and i didnt realise and so on.... He walks over to my ball picks it up (Pro V1) and pockets it, then procedes to tell me how he was "tempted to tee it up and hit it back at me." I start to laugh and ask him if " you honestly think you could have hit a 300 yard drive into the wind?" His wife starts to laugh too, and turns to me and is like "young man what is your name?" I told her my name thinking she might want to file a complaint or something... Shes like "nice to meet you ian, sorry my husband is a grouch, nice drive though" grabs him by the arm and drags him away. HAHA I was like thank god for women...

ah yes thats who i heard did this. im going to hit the range this weekend and try keeping that foot planted, got a school golf match on thursday so i dont think ill screw with my swing quite yet. -
heres a drill. address the ball as you do normally then turn so you are facing the target so the ball is inline with the side of your right foot, hit 10 balls like this where your feet are facing your target. this will teach your hips to quiet down on your down swing and should remove the fade. thats what my pro told me to do. now i have a nice reliable draw.

Nike Golf shoes - leaky air?
Ian replied to Mahbles's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
never had a leak. im a huge fan of nike shoes. I've always used them for basketball :) never for golf though. -
mats are not realistic at all, they tend to mask bad shots and while you may be generating a ton of backspin off them you may have a lot less on the course, try playing the ball an inch forward in your stance. What does your setup currently look like? I saw an interesting video today on chipping and common flaws. how most people have too wide of a stance and so on, try moving your feet closer together

heres a video to show what i mean: do you think that should affect my ball striking signifigantly? also i heard there were some pros who did this. is that true? I know for a fact that it allows me to get more power, because it extends my back swing a bit, but could it be affecting my consistency??

when people are late, and when im late. I hate it so much i would rather be an hour early than 10 minutes late.
-
quite possibly yes, have you tried that icy hot stuff shaquille oneil advertises for back pain? I used it for my knees and it gets rid of the pain right away, the only problem is i dont think it actually deals with it just does a great job of masking it. Go to your doctor or physio and ask him/her what they recommend for a back brace that will give you full range of motion still while golfing. Good luck.

Where's the 500+ category? I was unable to vote

I agree its too early in the year for me and the grounds too muddy to justify using a nice fall, ball the old top flights are coming out of my closet till it warms up in april, theres still snow on the ground here :o I couldnt help noticing ANOTHER CANADIAN And in B.C. Too? We're slowly taking over..I like it..

HAHA Well done I have a relatively nice set whch cost me only 500$ you can get a GREAT set of clubs for 1500$ even paying retail price. When you demo them in the store (if your in the store) they generally just have you hitting into nets, so you cant see your ball flight. Ask to use hitting stickers or duct tape. And put it on the face of the club so you can see where you are hitting the ball. go with the club that feels best and you hit in the sweet spot more than the others. Good luck finding your clubs keep us updated.

Id say your doing very well, i cannot compare that to my expirences as i started at 12 years old, however my dad started when he was around 58, (same time i did) your right about where he was when he started, so basically average the rate you will improve depends on your dedication and your natural ability for instance last summer i read golf magazines 24/7, read golf books, and at any time of he day could be found playing 18 holes. In that summer i went from a 18-> 7 handicap which i think is a great improvement, i hope to get below a 5 this year. basically quit your job and golf. haha

Actually the funny thing is despite ragging on those clothes i actually am i big fan of my jeans, however i will only ever be caught wearing them at a muni no top of the line courses. I admit i have a soft spot for denimmm haha

if you looked below my posts you would see it says: /sarcasm which means they were sarcastic comments... you keep calling me "junior" i bet that makes you feel big and strong.
-
Haha thats what i was getting at... i dont mind some of the shirts their other stuff just cracked me up and their logo .:P
-
I did say their products were ridiculous from the beginning, you used your selective sight to think that i was making fun of people with tatoos, which is not the case i only used the word tatoo twice in mentioning the name of the site.
-
I did not once say tatoos were bad, their name being "tatoo golf" is just a coincidence if you review my posts you will see both my sisters have numerous tatoos and i dont have anything againts them. Its their products i think are ridiculous
-
finally someone sees the humor! HAHA
-
i wasnt saying that people with tatoo's are terrible people, BOTH of my sisters have them i think they look good, all i was saying is golf is a preppy game, anyone who doesent realise that isnt the brightest. I was joking about the mugging old ladies... e-sarcasm. Basically these "agressive clothes" make me laugh at them. They think they are so hardcore because they have a headcover with a skull and crossbones on it. You dont have to look badass to look good..
-
my favourite part is how the window says "tatoo golf-agressive golf clothing" and their divot tool opens like a pocket knife, somehow i get the feeling the owners of this website would rather stab people and mug old ladies than play golf.
-
http://www.tattoogolf.com/ saw this site on google ads, what a terrible site: for all your skull and crossbone labeled clothing that looks like you came straight from "the hood" this is the place to shop. BUT NO! why stop there? lets make black golf balls so when your ball plugs in the mud, you will have an even easier time finding it. Plus for a limited time you can buy a black skateboarder hat which you can wear sideways to look "extra thug" OH BOY! i cant wait till they design skateboards i can ride on the cart paths. /sarcasm
