  1. I am playiing to about a 21 hdc, and have been playing the ProV1 for some time. I love the feel of the irons, chipping, putting. But it is turning my fade with the driver into a slice and hurting my score. Can you guys recommend the highest spinning ball with irons and the lowest spin of the driver? Preferably a high flight ball. TIA
  2. For the tap in birdie!
  3. Thanks for the tip, but I was talking about buying used so around $300 tops. The snake eyes may be good, but they will run around $85 per iron so not that much of a bargain!
  4. I think I am set on the MP-60's with DG R300. UNLESS I see a set with DG lite R300, which I think would best suit me. I will report back when I hit my set. Thanks guys.
  5. Thanks, your answer gives me some room to try them. I am thinking of going with mp-60's of ebay, the problem is most come with s300 so I will have to wait for a good set. I just wanted to hear that just because they are high kickpoint that I won't be hitting it waist high every time.
  6. Aside from the wins I think Villegas is a better player. Length, short game, mental toughness. Once he wins the first nobody will stop him, like Kim. Look at Camilo at the US OPEN and PGA, very tough courses, both TOP 10
  7. Hi, I am looking forward to upgrade irons, probably to a set of MP-57's. I am a bit concerned about the ball flight of the DG R300's. Is it too low? I hit it medium right now with my chinese $70 irons, but don't want to lower my trajectory. Any comments?
  8. Thanks for the responses. I guess it would be worth a try, I think this should help me with my tempo as I think the stiff shaft is forcing me to swing harder not faster. I will update you guys on how it goes, but definitely I agree that the mind plays tricks on you. I am really hoping that too soft is better than too stiff. Too soft at least you can slow down a bit and hit it a ton. One more thing I would like to comment. Eventhough the prolaunch blue A flex is supposed to be soft, I also tried a TM burner regular flex and found it to be very soft, hitting very high pull/draw. So I am thinking maybe the prolaunch line of shafts is stiffer than most, as I've heard many people saying the 65R feels way too stiff. I will get my shaft tomorrow and report on Monday. I really feel what is keeping my handicap above 20 is the distance with the driver, as I lose chances to use short irons to the green.
  9. Hi guys, I was recently considering changing my driver flex from stiff to regular. I am not sure of my swing speed, but I drive the ball around 230 with the stiff shaft. Anyways I am not happy with it, it feels dead and boardy so I am sure it is too stiff for my swing. Recently I went to visit my father and had to play with his driver. An R7 460 with a Prolaunch blue 55 A (senior) flex. My father is no senior (54) but chose the flex because he could control it and gained distance. Well guess what, I also could control it and gained about 35-40 yards per drive. I was amazed and it immediately got me thinking about the saying, use the lowest flex you can control. So anyway, any of you guys hit senior flex for increased distance?? I am almost positive I will buy the same shaft for my driver, but want to hear some opinions. Senior or regular??
  10. Yeah I know, I meant it more like she seems to have what it takes to become great! It would be interesting to see her play but they haven't showed one stroke of her on NBC...
  11. I have been really impressed with her performance at the US Open. Playing as an amateur and in the top 10. Also played with Lorena and beat her in the round. Remember she classified by winning the Amateur US Open. Plus she is only 18, hope she does well tomorrow. Anyone seen her play? http://www.latimes.com/sports/printe...,4352004.story
  12. 1. Tiger 2. Camilo 3. Phil 4. Scott 5. Trevor
  13. Yep, I bought it as a 12 degree driver basically, to compare trajectory with my 9.5. But at $9 even as a novelty club it is worth it!
  14. Hi guys, Yesterday I went looking for a 3 wood to Sports Authority. I went to the discount bins and saw a Tommy armour silver scott #2 wood, 12 degrees grafalloy shaft. I have been having some trouble with my driver so I bought it to use it off the tee, maybe I will hit it farther than my driver. I finally got an Adams tight lies 3 wood, the Tommy armour 2 wood and a 3 iron for $29... sweet deal. So anyone use a 2 wood for the tee? As a driver replacement? off the deck?
  15. Thanks for the answer. To tell you the truth I hadn't considered buying another driver, but that could be the ticket and sell the one I have on Ebay I guess. Maybe someone will recommend a high launch shaft.
  16. I forgot to add that I am looking for a relatively cheap shaft. I have seen some aldila on Ebay but don't know much about them.
  17. Hi guys, Just joined the forum, great place you have here! Here is the story. I started playing about a year and a half ago and liked it from the beginning. I've had a few months without playing because of mtb and soccer injuries (broken LEFT shoulder..agh not good for golf) but I am back. I started with a no name 10.5 regular flex driver, but I felt it was too soft. I was at Sports Authority and there was a Tommry Armour Torch 9.5 Stiff driver for $28 !!! So it felt good and I bought it. I hit it fairly well and straight, but my trajectory is tooo low so I am losing carry distance. I was wondering if some of you guys play the same driver or know the specs for the Royal Precision Saber shaft? I want to change the shaft as the driver was very cheap to buy a new one. I am thinking stiff shaft with a high launch would be the ticket for me. Can you guys help me out with recommendations? High launch Lightweight Thank you in advance!
  18. I am in sort of a shaft predicament also, but don't want to hijack your thread. How can I post a new thread? Just joined and don't have permission... Is there a min amount of posts before being able to post a thread??
  19. Started out with a 10.5, then found a good deal on a 9.5 but my trajectory is very low. Want to change shafts and see if it helps.
  20. When playing socially I don't mind people changing balls. I've seen people hit hard balls of the tee, then use a Pro V1 for the approach... I don't mind.
  21. A little more info would be good for the post. You say you really like the club but want to change the shaft? In order to change the shaft I would think one would have to have a problem with it. My current shaft is way too soft or stiff, etc.
