  1. Mizuno here as well, MP-32's. I have no idea Callaway would be ahead of Titleist though. I always thought that there were a ton of die-hard Titleist fans on this forum. I am currently shopping around for some new irons though. I love my MP-32's but they are getting a bit worn out from being used so often. I have been trying out clubs from Callaway and Titleist and Taylormade, but I just can't go back... haha. The Mizuno's really do give off a sensation and feeling that no other club (that I have tried so far) can match. I thought I would love the AP2's from some of the reviews I have read, and although they are pretty damn good, I think my next set of irons will still be Mizuno's!
  2. Can't beat those prices!
  3. On that note, how do you know when you should consider replacing your irons due to wear? My MP-32's still hit decent, although I don't really remember exactly how they hit when I first got them. I suspect that even if the performance has deteriorated, I wouldn't even know since it was such a gradual process. The club heads physically look pretty beat up but still have grooves on them. Basically, how worn out are your clubs before you consider replacing them with a new set?
  4. Michigan was alright, but I really liked Ka'anapali.
  5. I'm loving my FT-i Tour LCG 9.5 Like everyone has said, drivers are more or less a preference based on your skill and your swing, so all we can do is recommend some good drivers for you to test out.
  6. It's pretty much winter here in Canada, so I only hit it in a golf dome. The dome is pretty small so can't really tell the distance. To be honest, the club is "ok", but you can tell something is definitely "off" about it. It just doesn't quite feel right. I have hit real FT-i drivers before and it is not in the very least comparable. I knew something was wrong after the first couple hits. Firstly, the sound is horrid. Real FT-i drivers are pretty loud, but this fake driver just sounds bad, hard to describe, but it is somewhat like a loud thud rather than a crisp ping. I hope I get my money back, cause I am not pleased... For $200, I rather keep the money in my pocket and use my Big Bertha.... Serves me right for not taking a closer look. If the guy doesn't call me back, I guess I can wait outside his work lol
  7. That's what I am thinking, that he didn't know either. I have called him a few times and left polite messages, but so far, he hasn't contacted me back. I don't know where to proceed from here, but I will give it a few days...
  8. Hopefully! I will try calling him again tomorrow. He said he was sponsored and gets "good deals" since he's a scratch golfer... so much for that. I take responsibility for not taking enough time to research and look at the club... I feel soo disappointed in myself!
  9. Not that it matters anymore at this point, since the club is apparently fake, but here are some photo that will hopefully prevent this from happening in the future to others. Hopefully this guy calls me back asap to give me my money back!! I know what he drives and where he works, so hopefully that will help.. but I hope it doesn't resort to that. He seemed like a pretty stand up guy.
  10. Yes, it does have a serial number on the heel. I am just uploading pics now.
  11. Ok, I just got home to take another closer look and I am almost certain I got taken.... I looked at the shaft and it says "25th ANNIVERSART", yes ANNIVERSART rather than ANNIVERSARY, or maybe I have just never heard of the word anniversart... It says "Flex S", but mentions nothing of the Fujikura 686. There is also no "out of 2500" marked anywhere. It should say "xx out of 2500" somewhere... argh I called the guy back and left a message. I also called Callaway to see if they can confirm anything, but they are closed for the day... pics in a bit..
  12. I hit it at the range a few times, but it was indoor and only about 150yds long dome so it Was tough to judge how far it hit. It felt good and felt nice though. I will post pics when I get home. I am not entirely sure, but the shaft says 25tg anniversary on it and it does not say speeder686, so I doubt the original owner changed shafts...
  13. Hi, I recently bought a Callaway FT-i XXV Anniversary Edition Driver from a local guy on kijiji. I met up with him and he seemed like a genuinely good guy. He said he bought the driver new and said he had some good discounts since he was sponsored. He played with the driver a few times and decided that it wasn't for him. The driver I bought is the FT-i Anniversary edition driver and he said that it is 10degrees with a neutral optifit system, he also said it was the stiff shaft. I should have done more research I guess, but from the research I just did, it says that this anniversary edition driver comes in 2 forms: - 9.5degree in stiff shaft (Fujikura 686) and a neutral optifit system - 10degree in a regular shaft (Fujikura 586) and a draw optifit system. The driver I bought is neither of those, mine is 10degree stiff shaft (although I don't see where it says speeder686), with a neutral optifit system.... Were there custom configurations available for this special edition club? or did I get burned? Here's a link to Callaway's site for this specific driver: http://www.callawaygolf.com/Global/e...aryDriver.html Thanks in advance! I will go home and take some pictures later.
  14. Happened to me at the range the other day, except with my 6iron. My friends were laughing their asses off! haha, So embaressing when I ran out onto the range looking for the head of the 6i lol. Guess I should really take out my clubs from my trunk...
  15. Funny about switching to pink balls. On some days, I spend so much time looking for my balls, even in light rough, that I *almost* wish I had used a pink ball so it would be easier to find haha
  16. I play the MP-32's as well and I love the longer irons. I prefer them over my hybrids actually!
  17. For that price, it's a no-brainer! Buy them and enjoy this awesome game!
  18. I think it comes down to what you can afford. If I could comfortably afford a set of Callaway X-20 irons as a first set and then when you got better, got another set more suited to your needs, I would definetly go that route. Unfortunately, I don't have that much money to blow, so I bought a $200 set from a retailer like Dick's Sporting Goods, and upgraded from there.
  19. Shot a 46 today on 9holes(par38). Not too bad of a round, started off poorly with 3 double bogeys, but finished the round strongly with 3 straights pars! Highlights included a brilliant chip from 10yards out that missed the cup by a mere 6", and a 5i second shot that hit the flagstick! Lows included my poor driver play today, and my 3wood that need maybe 3yards more to clear the water... I love this game!
  20. I have some clubs that I have played for a few years, sorta beat up now, but it is just the appearance I think, the playability is the same. Would it still be worth it to go for a fitting? or shall I just get a fitting next time I guy clubs (in maybe a year or 2). Also, what if I buy used clubs? Is the fitting process still the same?(other than buying new shafts instead of ordering shafts with the new clubs)
  21. ^I couldn't agree more, playing a shot your uncomfortable with is usually recipe for disaster haha. I have been trying to swallow my pride lately and lay up instead of going for some tougher, lower percentage shots, and I have been cutting strokes quite readily lately! I'll work up to getting to the point where I feel comfortable "going for it".
  22. I just bought a set of MP-32's, and I love them. So my next set would probably be MP-32 or the MP-57, or maybe those crazy MP-100!
  23. I just bought a set of used irons, is it still worth it to get them fitted? or do people usually get irons fitted when they order new irons, so they can choose their shafts, etc...?
