I have always bought good yet inexpensive irons that have suited me just fine over the years. People with a mid to high handicap spend way too much on irons IMO. Why spend an extra $1000.00 on an iron set that does absolutely nothing to improve your game? Because they look good in your bag? Now some people do it because they can afford to....others because they fall for the advertisement. Most do it for the name without realizing that you still have to swing the golf club. I recently purchased a brand new set of Adams 1208 uniflex steel irons 4-GW for $149.00 on ebay and the seller threw in a free A70S SW for a total of 9 sticks. Paid another 12 bucks for shipping and i made out pretty good. The irons hit incredibly well, have nice perimeter weighting and a nice thick sole. They also look really sharp in the bag. They are milled from the same steel that goes into high end irons but they didnt spend a boat loadload on advertising which brought the price down and actually increased their profit margins on reputation alone. If you guys are looking for some of the best performing irons on the market but dont want to break the bank then I urge you to check these out.

IRONS THAT ARENT MADE OF ROLLED STEEL SUCH AS A NEWERE FORGED BLADE WILL LOSE DISTANCE OR POP OVER TIME DUE TO THE LITTLE MICROSCOPIC CRACKS AN FIZZURES DEVELOPED IN THE NORMAL 431 STAINLESS STEEL AFTER MANY COMPRESSED HITS IN THE FACE BUT IT WOULD BE NOTICEABLE IN CAVITY BACKS AFTER LIKE TEN YEARS OF CONSTANT PLAY. MY BUDDY IS AN ENGINEER EXPLAINED IT TO ME BUT HES ALSO AN AVID GOLFER. I NOTICED IT IN MY OLD G5 IRONS WHICH IS WHY I BOUGT A NEW SET OF ADAMS IRONS ON EBAY FOR ABOUT THE SAME PRICE IT WOULD HAVE COSTED M TO!REESHAFT GRIP AND SHARPEN TE GROOBES OF MY OLD WRENCHES. SO WHEN SOMEON TELLS YOU THAT THEIR STICKS LOST THEIR POP THERE REALLY IS SOME MERIT TO THAT.

I learned to play on a set of blades so when the first thick soled cavity back irons came out I was in heaven. To this day I still rock a nice set of cavity backs in the bag.

**** what the LSU guy says and swing however you want because what it really boils down to is squaring the club face upon impact which will ensuure a straight shot and good ball striking ability. Look at Jim Furyk....ugly swing but squares up on impact.

Ive got the pinnacle golds in the bag right now due to low spin rate off the tee box and theyre not as hard as the srixon distance balls so theyre easier on your stick with good feel and compression.

Thanks for the feedback bro. Abuddy of mine is a golfsmith the only problem was the stock Ping shafts were like 50 bucks a pop but youre right....if you end up saving money if the club heads are still in great shape then yeah Id just reshaft and sharpen the grooves.

open up your stance and choke up a little with the driver. That will help somewhat. Also open the face of the club slightly.
