Shafts for Drivers and fairway woods?
sungho_kr replied to nautyyboyy's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have a graffaloy blue. I hit it with a mid trajectory and my swing speed is around the strong club pro. I really like this because the ball dosen't balloon up but rises slowly, just like my rifle spinner shaft. I think you should try the nvs shafts from adila, they are sweet. I also have a question for everybody. On my three wood, I want to change the shaft. I don't like the nippon, it feels good but Sometimes I balloon the ball so high, that I lose massive distance, especially going for 2 on the par 5's. So I was thinking of Steel Shafts: Project X, DGX100, Graphite:Adila NVS, Tour Platform, 757. Plz give me some reccomendations, Its spring time and my equpment has to be perfect, lol. -
Gloves, there all part of the look, Ive got to have them. Ive tried almost every glove. My favorite leather glove is the stasof but it dies fast. Mizuno makes a decent feeling glove and f3 is good too. As long as it is soft and I can feel the club, gloves are the way to go.

Wanted: New Writer for The Bag Drop
sungho_kr replied to Donald MacKenzie's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would like to apply for the job (with trumpets in the backround). No, really, I'm probably the biggest equipment nut of all. Also I'm korean. If your korean, you know koreans are stubborn and blame their equipment. Also they know almost everything about equipment, not enough on golf swing. That's why there are almost no PGA pros that are korean but on the LPGA, they all like Gucci and Prada. So my email is sunghokr@aim.com , I really am interested. -
Davis is out, I meant Jimenez is solid on Euro Tour but no where close to PGA tour. Jim Furyk is -8. I think -11 is possible if winds get a little stronger. Short hitters galore. Vijay Singh proved that he is the best ball striker with today's performance(you have to watch the clips, amazing,Personally I like TW, but VIJAY is good argument) -15 sounds accurate if conditions are like today(friday). My leader board is looking close to perfect at this moment. I don't want to brag but I feel good with my predictions. Retief, KJCHOI, Jim, Furyk, Oberholser, Singh, Woods, Faxon, Funk, are looking really good. I think the courses is not going to be crazy but the top players cant put it together, everyone is playing like B- level. Oh well, hey Iaca. Sorry, but III is a figure of imagination, jk. And, no offense, but yes I expect Furyk to do about that good. It really is a good score.

Davis love is good but like so many other players, he has the deamons that stop him from finishing like Tiger. Tiger is not in it cuz his dad might pass away any moment. Jim Furyk can get the job done. Bernhard Langer is to up and down. Migue Jimenez is not really a PGA tour player. So here comes my leader board final. (ITS GOING TO BE SICK) 1. -11 Jim Furyk -putting is the key T2.-11 Aaron Oberholser, Fred Couples T3- -10 Vijay Singh-best ball stiker, Retief Goosen, Ben Crane 4. -8 Tiger Woods maybe withdrawed T5. -7 Joe Durant, KJ CHOI- go korea, Brad Faxon, Henrik Stenson - one for the european, Fred Funk, Shingo Katayama, Ernie, Nick Price (WHAT!! ) and Lehman - amazing if he won wouldn't it T6. -6 9 players tied -lee westwood and others(hensby) I could be dead on or totally off like my NCAA Brackets, DUKE lost, Kansas lost, UCLA lost, OMG, about 30 freakn upsets. NExt year im just going to draw out of a hat. K?

After impact the ball should only be about 2 yards high, after 10 yards of carry. The ball will go higher if you have a higher swing speed because the spin will make the ball rise higher after 8 yards of carry and it will rise dramatically, flattening at the top, MAXIMUM YARDAGE! Your pro is correct unless you are in your 40's and a bit out of shape, this is the correct swing. Don't worry, the more you practice, the ball will go farther. My ball launch angle is extremelly low but my ball goes higher than everybody else if you compare to other player trajectories of my friends - JUNIOR GOLFERS - so don't worry. You can start compressing the ball better if you hit it lower, then when your pro brings your next swing change (i know exactly what it is), then use the drill by putting a buket under your right foot and shifting your weight all the way on to the right foot during your backswing and effeciently starting the weight movement with the lower body uncoiling. This will help you maximize what your golf pro said. Trust me, I've had 2 golf pros, one japanese from Japan (i'm not japanese, so he could only show me, no talking) and an american pro. The started me off the same way. I'm so stubborn, don't change your pro like me cuz you think he is wrong, the next will say the samething.

Torque on left ankle?
sungho_kr replied to Newbie Collection Agency's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I use to have that problem and sometimes still do. I believe its because the ankle's ligaments and muscles are tight and still cold. If you have a hot pack, put that on, jog routinely, or get a doctor. I usually just rub my ankles with my hands when I practice and it hurts. I know what you mean. Sometimes it feels really bad and your swing feels crappy. -
My coaches and other professional teachers have said, stretch properly for 20minutes and consistency is not a problem. The type of stretching is static or 30 secs hold. Make sure you get your lower back, arms and hams, and calfs. also don't crack your knuckes, pull your wrists and your ankles. If flexible, to a high knee kick and hold for 20 seconds(don't do if your not flexible, people can get seriously injured). Thats what people have told me is the key of "getting loose"

Hi, thanks for the information, I live in Chicago and its really cold, my friend told me today its just because the weather (I have no clue on how weather affects ball flight and distance). Also the pings were midsize clubs. Anyways, thanks for the information but I'm pretty serious about golf and I want to play atleast Division III golf. The loft on my clubs were almost the same, 1 degree off, then the 690.cb's. Also, are these easier better to hit with sweeping or compressing with more of an upright swing. I went through more than 3 swing changes in the past 2 years, and I usually rely on different swings for different days and conditions. I would like to know if hard range balls go shorter, maybe they go longer, and I'm just screwd. my previous distances with my irons, 2-sw go like this (240really Hi and drops on a dime, 235, 220,205, 190, 180, 170, 160, 145, 125, 110) but now it looks like this hybrid-sw(240, 230, 215,195,180, 165,150,135, 120, 110) I'm not sure if its the weather, the balls, the clubs, the sweetspot, theshaft(I had flighted), the swing or just expecting too much. Also, I haven't hit a ball on the range since Nov. so its pretty cold here in Chicago. I really enjoy this forum because there are so many knowledgeable people. Thanks. Also, I'm not sure what driver I'm trying to get. My swing speed is around 120mph, but on the course it can vary from 110 to 130. I tried the fujikura shafts but they seemed only good on fairway woods and the Diamana(real version) is to harsh on the hands. Has anyone tried the 425 R7, I use to be a humongous Taylor Made fan but now Im just a "whatever looks classic." Have you seen luke Donald at TPC today. His swing is so amazing, I hope someone can help out. Sorry for the long posts.

How do you warm up before a round?
sungho_kr replied to Finn07's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
According to various coaches, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. You need to stretch a minimum of 10 minutes so you have consistency in you swing. The type of stretching is static or holding for 30 seconds exact. For clubs. Take a heavy club or a 7 iron, and take full relaxed swing. At the top of the swing, hold for 10 secs. Do this about 10 times so your downswing is trained. Hit 20 balls with sand wedge, then 5-10 balls with 8/7 iron, 5-10 balls with 5 iron 5-10 balls with 2/3 iron, then driver, 5 balls with woods, then go back to 6 iron, then to lob wedge. Then hit 4 perfect balls with the club you are going to tee off from. Then go to sand/ chipping then finally 10 minutes to with the putter. This should take anywhere from 30to 1 hour. This is what most pros do including the big5. I hope this is resourceful and helpful. Anyother questions, I might be able to help out. -
I'm a student that has limited money. I use to play the Ping ISI Nickel. These put great spin on them put after much practice, the shaft just bent and the pro shop charged to much. I read about 300 reviews on the MP30 and 690.cb and others. I just bought the 690.cb brand new for 360 dollars. I hit them and they feel like so soft and they sound perfect but the distance is short. Is it really true the sweet spot is close to the heel and are there any ways hitting these farther. I hit 5 iron 195. Pings went 205 yards. Should I get other clubs? Im not sure, plz reply.

Need Some Help on Equipment Choice
sungho_kr replied to LDAV's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Hey, I'm pretty new to this but I've been through many three woods. If you are low on cash, try to get one of the newer sonartec three woods. You can pick them up on ebay, new, for 100$ Also, if you like callaway woods(extremely easy to hit, and go far, but high) then I reccomend the ERC, it came out on 2002 but its very reliable, made of titanium, and goes far. It sounds great off the club head too. My final suggestion would be to get a titleist 904 series three woods. They are very low in price and you could probably get them with upgraded shafts (Fujikura, Graphite Design) for 100$ on ebay. These go a little lower and for show, not really performance. If you like extremely small heads, get the Titleist PT, non bore through or the Taylor Made Burner Tour Preferred. They are classic three woods, but a little harder to hit. These go almost the same in distance. Lower in Ball Flight and are zippy. They make a plastic snapping sound when you hit the ball or a "whack" sound which I love. I use to use the Titleist PT 15*. These can be anywhere between 10 dollars to 150 dollars. They are classic but amazing. Tiger Woods used Titleist PT for almost all his life, except for the last 2 years on tour. I used the Titleist PT's. They were very good until I god the ERC. I chose ERC because of Sound and distance +15 yards. Trajectory is about the same but I change the ball placement for my 3 wood depending on conditions of course. Im very clean sweeper with the wood. For cheap prices, ebay. Thats about it.
