Right now, I think Winston will win, but I can see some voters are hesitant because of the possibility of him getting charges against him. I would like to see Jordan Lynch win it, but I think Winston is the winner by a long shot.

USC has reportedly hired Steve Sarkisian as the new head coach. I liked Sarkisian as the OC at USC under Carroll, but I'm still not all that excited about this hire as the HC.

Wow. So FSU gets the #1 rank, but I would hope that Auburn doesn't leapfrog OSU.

I agree with poppy ridge too. If you're an NCGA member, you do get a break on the green fees. Are you available on Dec 14 or 15?

Which 49er player are you referring to? The only player suspended in the last three years was Clark Haggans, but it was for a DUI that occurred BEFORE he signed with the Niners.

Any golf iPhone apps for clubhead speed/distance hit?
RPMPIRE replied to Klarkus's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
There are apps, but you'd have to buy the equipment to use the app, such as SkyPro, 3Bays GSA, or Swingbyte (the cheapest). I've used the 3Bays GSA and the distance is accurate enough (give or take 3 yards), but the unit is $199. If I were to pay for either a range finder or swing analyzer than measures how far you hit the ball, I would go for the range finder. You can use it both on the course and on the range. The other way is to somehow find a range that has Trackman, Flightscope, or GC2, which is probably the most accurate you can probably get in terms of all swing and ball metrics. -
Pete Carroll should be responsible especially after the second or third infraction. Don't get me wrong, I like Pete Carroll (I'm a USC fan), but I didn't like the aftermath when he left for Seattle. I think he runs his team as loose as he is on the field and I believe it's his looseness where players think they can get away with whatever they want. Do you think it's just a coincidence that these suspensions happened under Pete Carroll's watch?

LOL. Just noticed that.

Thankful that my back has been holding up the last couple of months for me to play golf and work on my swing. Thankful for the TST members and Evolvr crew (Erik, Mike, Stephen, James, etc) for interesting discussions and helping me on my golf swing.

Saints will put up a good fight, but I don't know how any road team can win in Seattle. I'm still unsure about this one, but hope the Saints win. Go Niners!

Again, my apologies for slacking on this. Let's set up a date in December where we can just get some guys together and play around. Right now, December 14 or 15 looks good for me. Let's get a list going of who can make it that day and we can set up a tee time next week. I think a course in the East Bay or the Tri-Valley area is probably best for everyone logistically, but lets get some suggestions for what everyone thinks.

Agree, we should move the last few posts to the NCAA College Football thread. The topic will probably get lost in all the Ohio State/BCS/playoff discussion though.

I'm not confident that Coach O will be selected as the permanent head coach, but the performance, what the USC fan base says (including myself), and what the players say about him make it very hard NOT to select him as the head coach. If USC wins this weekend, I don't think there should be any doubt that Coach O should be the head coach, at least for the next couple of years. If they lose, he should still be one of the top 3 choices and might still very well deserve the job. Just got back from the driving range and was hitting next to a guy who looks like he just went through a powder blue waterfall. He was covered in UCLA gear from his shirt, sunglasses, bag, and head covers. Pretty hilarious.

USC hasn't shown up in the top 10 in the last few years and I'm sure the bowl ban and the scholarship reductions had a lot to do with it. From 2002 to 2008, USC had the top recruiting class in the PAC 10. In 2009, UCLA had tops but second was USC. The NCAA sanctions hit in 2010 and now no one wanted to even touch USC and they're still feeling the hurt of scholarship reductions. The head coaching question is still in the air, but the turnaround of the program by Coach Orgeron is starting to draw interest from some recruits. I don't expect USC to have a top recruiting class for another few years, but they're doing okay with what they have. Just needed a good head coach. And another thing...Fight on! Should be a good game this Saturday.

I also don't think he was fully healthy in Week 1 and rushed back from his injury. He didn't play as explosive as he did but I think he was just trying to be conservative, which really isn't his game.

I used to go to the San Bruno range at night and experienced my fair share of these rowdy guys. Typically dressed in baggy clothes, only thing more offset than their clubs is their hat, and a bag full of canned beer. Sometimes they come in groups of 5 with a rickety old 360cc titanium driver that they all share one stall to hit. The Mission Hills range is a decent range with a free short game practice area, which is desirable where I live. Every other range, you'd have to pay to go into the short game practice area.

Thanks, Erik. I notice that my shots are just slightly off-center towards the heel and would get sometimes get frustrated that it's not centered. Now I can relax just a little.

Is it really true that a blade's sweet spot is closer towards the heel?

Nice! They're bringing a tournament to Lake Merced! I'm just 10 minutes down the road so I'll definitely be going to that tournament.

Pretty much agree with all three, especially for 2 and 3. You can't have enough pictures or videos of your little one. My wife and I had two kids back-to-back - they're Irish twins - and because both our hands were full, it was hard to take videos and pictures since they both required a lot of attention. They're almost 2 and 3 now, and when looking at our pictures, we were a little upset that we missed capturing a few milestones for both of them, especially our second son. The first few months will definitely be trying but patience is key. Congratulations!

I think the HUD is a little distracting, but it doesn't show if it disappears when addressing the ball. I'd be more interested in having a range finder where you can just look at a pin no matter how far and it will instantly give you the distance. Maybe even set it to give live distance readings to multiple targets. I think it'd be awesome if Glass can do something like ProTracer to keep track of your ball. Probably not possible, but I'm just saying.

I'll have family in town so I definitely won't be able to make it on that Friday. Would have loved to join you guys. Have fun out there!

I usually tee it up just like how I tee it up for an iron which is just barely above the turf. The tour average AoA is -3 degrees or so for a 3 wood. I'm not sure if it's effective to get a positive AoA for a 3 wood just like a driver, but since I do practice hitting 3 wood off the deck at the range, I just try to keep the conditions relatively the same and tee it up just barely clearing the grass.
