My go-to smoke is a Partagas Series S, Preferido. Like I mentioned before, I've been on a Nicaraguan kick fot the last several months though, and haven't gotten enough of the Pepin cigars. Right now I've got some La Aurora's, Dunhill, Trinidad, Partagas, Cohiba, San Cristobal, CAO, Rocky Patel, Jesus Fuego, Padron, Tatuaje and I suspect a few others Here's a question: I know you have a wine cellar to help maintain humidity, but what did you do before that? It seems like the Florida humidity would present a hell of a challenge trying to keep it stable. I've gone to 65% RH beads, and my humi holds steady at 64-66%. I had a lot more swing with gel and PG solution.

Ouch. No, you're right, it's not in the same class. It is, however, a darn fine car, and much more accessable for a recent college graduate (remember living with milk crates and stuff for furniture? that's where he's at) It's a car that's affordable, but flashy enough to chase girls in too. Anymore, maintaining a foreign car isn't really any more expensive than a domestic one (but that's me doing my own labor) Yup. That's why tomorrow is the beginning of a new era... My wife and I are trading vehicles for a while to see how it impacts our budget. We're going through ~$150 per week in fuel with our current arrangement, I'm hoping for some relief if I drive her car to work, and she uses my truck for her short jaunts across town. We'll see how it goes...

I gave up drinking about 3 years ago, it turns out, I didn't know "when to say when", so it was easier to quit rather than get into any trouble with the law. (my family's far too important) I used to really like Abita Turbodog and Shiner Bock ( crazygolfguru - If you're a fan of the DP, you need to try a Dublin Dr Pepper. The only one made with the original recipe. http://www.dublindrpepper.com/ It's my favorite, by far. Pure cane sugar is the secret. No unpronounceable 'partially hydrogenated' or 'high fructose' anything in it. It'll make you wanna slap yer momma, it's so good.

I've got a Dodge 2500 (3/4 ton) with the Cummins diesel. I get 20-22 running back and forth to work, but it's 40+ miles one way, so I wind up with ~500 miles per week with a little running in the evenings and weekends; even more during hunting season when I'm running to the farm every weekend.

My only experience with them is the CTS-V (Cadavette) My ex-boss had one, with ~450hp it was fun to drive, and surprisingly decent mileage if he kept his foot out of it. If you're thinking a BMW is expensive to repair, I'm guessing you haven't priced out what it costs to maintain a Caddy lately. They ain't cheap... You want fun, and more affordable with lower maintenance? Look at a Maxima. Blow your doors off fast, great looking, ridiculously comfy, killer mileage and low maintenance. My wife loves her Honda's (she's had 3), I'm still trying to talk her into one for her next car. I'm a truck guy, always have been, always will be. My work, and my lifestyle demand that I own one. Trust me, I'm feeling the pain with diesel at $4.75 around here, $100 (where the pumps cut off) doesn't quite get me 3/4 of a tank.

Everyday, I take that to mean local to me courses... The two favorites that I've played so far are Tangle Ridge (a Jeffrey Brauer course) and The Tribute (Tripp Davis) It'd be a tossup between them. Tangle Ridge can eat your lunch, and is a blast to play besides being absolutely beautiful. http://www.tangleridge.com/ The Tribute is just that, it's a tribute to the greatest holes in Scotland, with holes from St Andrews, Muirfield, Dornoch and others. It's a tremendous experience. http://thetributegolflinks.nemexinc.com/default.cfm There are several more in the area that I haven't played yet, but want to: Cowboys and Dallas National, so this isn't my 'final' answer.

When I think of a hat, Stetson is the first name that pops into my head. Arguably the finest hats made today. I've worn them for most of my life, and I even have my great-grandfather's from the 30's (it's weird, but he and I have the same sized head, he passed a couple months before I was born) http://www.stetsonhat.com/index.php They offer several golf and outdoor hats now if you're not up for getting in touch with your cowboy roots. I'm leaning toward a new Airway for golfing and around other outside activities (been wearing a ballcap on the golfcourse). I'll keep my beat up old straw hat for work.

The 92's are fantastic. Look for his 'Knockoffs' in the CI catalog (likely on c-bid too), they make fantastic sticks for the golf course. Same cigar, about half the price due to it being slightly imperfect. If you haven't tried one, his Edge Sumatra is the best of that series, hands down. Keep an eye on your local B&M; (and the others in the area) and see if Rocky's going to be in the area (he's on tour now). If so, go meet him. He's a super nice guy, and loves to talk cigars with his customers. I met him when he launched the Olde World Reserve's a couple summers back, and was very impressed. My local B&M; doesn't carry Graycliff, so I've never tried one, or been bold enough to commit to a box online.

I've been on a Nicaraguan kick lately, namely Don Pepin. I'm really blown away by the San Cristobal, but I can't swing them by the box. I smoke quite a few Tatuaje's instead. I also like Corojo's and Cameroon's quite a bit. Partagas is one of my favorites (I really like the Series S cigars) I smoke quite a few Fuente sun grown's, and who doesn't love the Hemingway's? Right now I've got some La Aurora's, Dunhill, Trinidad, Partagas, Cohiba, San Cristobal, CAO, Rocky Patel, Jesus Fuego and I suspect a few others. How about you?

Randy Rogers Band - Better Off Wrong I just discovered radio on iTunes, and found Radio Free Texas, which is a lot of the music I love anyhow.

I don't collect much anymore... I do keep an inventory of cigars, not nearly as much as I'd like though (I smoke them, 2-3 a week) there are a few that I've been aging for a few years though. I'm stuck buying cheap sticks for regular smokes ($5-8 range), and they go pretty fast. I have a love for all things mechanical; cars, motorcycles, trucks, stuff like that. Right now, I've only got two side projects (a 68 and a 76 Bronco) I'm really itching to build a Model A pickup though. I've never built a bike from scratch, I'd like to do that too. I'll even design the jig for the frame, layout the suspension (no hardtails for me, they suck to ride), and TIG it up myself if I can get access to a quality jig table. I have books though, lots of them, hundreds of them, stacked all over the house, my shed, the storage building and even in my truck and office. I devour them, sometimes 3-4 a week, other times I may only read 2-3 per month. Novels, biographies, history, technical manuals, how-to's and stuff like that. I did get rid of a pickup bed full this past winter, per my wife and my agreement to purge some of the unnecessary crap in our house. I had 13 bicycles when I got married, but I rode 5-6 days a week, now I'm down to one. Movies, I love 'em. I don't know how many I've got, and I don't want to know. I do know that I'm running out of room for the stinkin things though. I watch 1-2 per night also. Netflix, and high speed internet has saved me here, otherwise I'd have thousands. Tools - can you ever have 'too many'? That's rhetorical. I've been accumulating tools since I was a tot, and now have enough to fill a large truck if I were to gather them all into one place, they're spread out between 3-4 locations. I need a HUGE tool chest to get them all together. It makes me batty having to rummage through several boxes to find the right tool during a project - whether I'm repairing the toilet, or rebuilding an engine. *edit* Looking at this, it does make me look like I've got a lot of .

I found a Callaway X16 Steelhead 9 iron a couple months ago in the weeds while tromping around looking for a ball. I found an old Northwest putter (old, brass head, I'm guessing 60's or 70's) near a green, in a flowerbed several years ago.

If I've got time for breakfast, I'll eat a ham and egg sandwich or two. If not, a Slim Fast (it's got all the good stuff that a Power Bar has, and is much more pallatable) I constantly eat on the course. I keep peanuts, beef jerky, peanut butter crackers and peanut M&M;'s in my bag. I drink tons of water, and an occasional Diet Coke, and Gatorade (the low sugar one) I try not to eat too much sugar (trying not to develop diabetes when I get older, it runs in the family), but occasionally I feel weird, or shaky, I'll eat a Snickers bar for a quick bunch of sugar to level out when it's hot.

Well, it's time to change my vote to 4. I stumbled upon a very good condition (used) Ping Tour 60* wedge tonight at Golfsmith, and somehow (without my wife's knowing) it found it's way into my truck for the ride home. I'll be out in the yard chipping for the rest of the evening if anyone needs me...

'Frankly Golf' perspectives on newbie drivers...
Gummi Bear replied to 99s's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If you want to play a little shorter driver to see if it'll improve your accuacy, choke up. If you need to put a wrap of tape as a visual reminder on the grip to help remind you to grip it a tad shorter, do it. That way it's not permanent, and you're not out a good shaft. (*in many drivers, the shaft is of equal or greater value than the head) I've got a slow driver swing, so I play a regular shaft in my driver, but my irons are all stiff. I have to relax, and slow down my swing, the ball will still go quite a ways (probably not as far though), and I won't be pulling the darn thing all over the place. -
Exactly the 3 that popped into my head as I read this; the three biggest rednecks on tour. They're all 'my kinda people'

It took me a long time... I owned golf clubs for 15 years, and played 3-4 times a year, mostly just for an excuse to be outside, or a company outing. Last fall, I started playing more often, and this spring I made a commitment to myself that I would really improve my golf game. I've started practicing pretty often, usually a little every other day, and I play 9-36 holes a weekend. I purchased new equipment as part of my commitment (it seems to have had as much mental/emotional impact as it has improved my game) I broke 100 back in April, and now I'm gunning for 90. I don't really have a home course, but I play the country club that my brother lives at the most often, and think that it's the one that I'll do it on. I'm a few flubbed shots, and a blowup hole away from pulling it off.

I went to the Ping demo day. I found out that I actually hit the 4 wood farther than the 3 wood (apparently, not all that uncommon). They also fitted me with the proper shaft (TFC 129W - Stiff) with their doppler launch monitor that they bring out. It was really cool, and a lot of fun. They did a 'blind' test with me, and handed me a few different ones, and asked how they felt, as they recorded the data. I was impressed when they showed it all to me. You can't really go wrong with any of the ones you listed, they're all super high quality sticks. Go hit them, get fitted, and decide which one does what you want best.

Desert racing - I'm a part of a Class 3 team, and we race the Baja 1000 (it's a monster huge deal logistically to get to Mexico from north Texas, so that's our one big race) I co-drive (navigate), chase, and wrench for the team. As much fun as I have, nothing comes close to being as badass as watching a Trophy Truck go blasting by at 120mph across the desert. Rock Crawling - it's a great family activity, and makes for some exciting footage Sporting Clays, Trap, Skeet - when I get a chance Playing with my daughter - Sometimes it's golf, sometimes it's football, sometimes it's soccer. On TV, I watch desert racing and CORR races, rock crawling when I can catch it, golf and college football. Otherwise it's the Discovery channel and History for the most part.

I'm a fashion catastrophe according to my wife... I grab just about any shirt out of my closet, I wear golf shirts a big part of the time, and short sleeved button ups the rest of the time. I consciously buy my shirts with enough room to swing a club. I do send my shirts to the cleaners, so they're neatly pressed with sharp lines. Cargo shorts - 3 pair, all in varying shades of khaki. Pick one Pants - Carhartt canvas (lightweight and soft). If it goes below 40*, I'm not playing, so only a couple of pair of these anyhow. I wear these to work all year long. Belt - whichever one's hanging on the outside of my belt hook (lately it's been a web belt, like climber's wear) Socks - ridiculous ones, left over from when I was cycling a lot. (It was a contest to see who could come up with the most outlandish ones, my buddy won when he scored a pair with pink flamingoes.) Shoes - I have one pair. I wear them on the course. As soon as it's over though, on with the Croc-a-floppers. If I had enough game to pull it off, I'd be rockin' the knickers every time (I draw the line at the silly hat though, I'll keep my ballcap)

What make of glove do you wear...
Gummi Bear replied to PutterHead's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've been wearing the Callaway Warbird gloves. They're cheap at 2 for $15. I've not had any glove last me more than a few rounds. I take it off after every shot to help keep it from getting so slimy. I'll leave it off for putting, and really short chip shots. The seams split out on them long before any wear holes appear. Since I changed my swing up over the last few months, I don't wear them out quite like I did (not having a death grip seems to have helped :)) -

Look into the Cusano 18, and the Helix. Both very light, both very decent. I used to smoke them both quite a bit when I was in the mood for a light cigar. Also - ask the person at your local cigar shop to advise you for any others.

I hope that Daly can pull it together. Sure he's a trainwreck, but that's why I like him. He represents the 'everyman'

My signature move: Top the ball on the #1 tee, so it dribbles up to the ladies tee box. I figure if my buddies are gonna laugh at me, I may as well get used to it from the get-go, rather than let it ambush me later on when I think I'm doing well.
