  1. The thread I thought was on how to hit partial wedge shots. I was pointing out a way to do that along with what Mike talked about. Since wrist hinging or radial deviation is part of lag, it obviously can increase clubhead speed. So let’s start by removing the full wrist hinging. This is where many golfers have difficulty. They tend to use a full wrist cock with only a half swing. If you’re going to have a full backswing, you can have a full wrist hinge. But if you’ve got a half swing, use half the amount of wrist hinging. If you’re going to use a three-quarter swing, then use three-quarters of wrist hinging and so on Like I said just another thing that may help
  2. Maybe but looks like Mike does it. Always whatever works. Just another technique to add to the bag
  3. Monitoring the cocking of left wrist ( radial deviation ) in backswing helps also, ala Steve Stricker.
  4. Gee sorry Phil, didn't realize ninjab wouldn't understand.
  5. You have upper torso imbalance. Shift your pressure to right heel, feel taller with right side extension , create more right side lateral bend to start down swing keeping right shoulder external longer while right elbow leads instead of hands. Also work a little on posture, less knee bend more flexion
  6. One of the best instructors I know is Lucas Wald https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWtOs1b64jz2uJihEkQlXkw And you won't find any better than these https://www.youtube.com/user/speedchain111
  7. My point is that over swinging does not necessarily cause a flip, actually probably one of the least reasons for a flip. Case in point would be Jamie Sadlowski, Bubba, countless others who do what you describe
  8. Over swinging, compared to what ? What is the over ?
  9. Relax left elbow in set up. (Pic 1) Get some better upper torso extension (video Mike and Eric showed ) in backswing (Pic 2). Practice a bit of Snead squat keeping femurs external in initial downswing move (Pic 3), pressure going to right side, not a slide (Pic 4) Get weight (pressure ) over to right heel with right hip rotation, will if you don't slide as much on downswing
  10. You need to shift your pressure (weight) over to your right heel area at start and top of swing.
  11. I like it...remember to make a change in a motor pattern takes a long time, (especially at our age) your pattern is pretty much set, subtle changes is all we can expect. Also body type plays a big role. To me with the pattern you have a high baby fade would seem to fit. You may want to practice hitting low stingers just to add that shot to your bag and it would help with a bit lowering your ball flight. looking forward to seeing you in person soon....
  12. Mirror work is excellent, remember feel is not real. Watch yourself doing the new moves, positions etc, then correcting them is what you are trying to do. Engage as many of your senses as possible, feel and sight, balance, pressures. Be engaged fully in your practice is the key. Do it, Observe it, Correct it DOC
  13. Will talk more. But I will toss this out to you. its a 4 hour ride to Chicago and i will be more than happy to spend a few hours with you, for free, (you can buy me lunch).
  14. Sure, but let me ask you ? What is your self diagnose ? Where does your ball start ? How far right or left of target ? How much turn ?
  15. And what would the pivot fix ? Also you posted the picture of him before he added a bit of flare.
  16. The shot you say kills you is a pull, so where is face pointing at impact with that pull ? Just saying practice face control in relationship to path. path.....
  17. You are NOT swaying to the right, the shaft gets steep in downswing, due to right shoulder, and right elbow move, no right side lateral bend to start DS. BUT you have to remember that body structure plays a lot in why you swing like that. You are a "robust" build , ala Craig Stadler, who hits a right to left fade. Practice club face control, where you want ball to start. Set up 3 practice alignment rods to create 2 goal post maybe 5 yards apart, 15 to 20 yards out, center rod is target, rod on left of center practice hitting a fade between the left/center practice starting ball between them. Do the same with center/right rods and practice slight draws, (which is the one you should practice more, to help flatten out the shaft on way down) Hope that makes sense
  18. Also little more neck tilt....eyes centered in sockets over ball
  19. Strengthen your left hand grip, work on less knee bend ,stand little taller, ball closer.
  20. Your moving your right shoulder into internal rotation at start of downswing ,which is causing to steep of a shaft , path going to left, causing chicken wing. I would give you a little right side lateral bend in transition and flatten that shaft a bit to swing little more right.
  21. Remember also guys that one of the main reasons for a steady head is VISION, focused eyes on the ball, and Jimmy has that in spades. Mac did a big research study on this years ago. As with regards to Jimmy "early" extension, remember that we all have different body types, we all either need to use either more lateral movements, rotary movements, and will use GRF shear and vertical movements, depending on our body structure, not one thing fits everyone unless you are measured exactly like him, i.e., arm lengths, wing span vs. height, hip speed, etc.
