  2. Three days a week 9 holes walking with my Clicgear cart. Sometimes I do 18 riding when one of my friends wants to golf but most of the time I am out there solo. In the winter we have a golf dome and I am out three days aweek hitting golf balls. You meet freinds just being out and if you join a league you will get teamed up with others who soon become your golf buddies. I am talking as a retired senior and will love the game as long as I am able to swing a golf club alone or with friends it does not matter to me...
  3. This is my clicgear 3.0 that I bought last year and it has paid for itself already. I am 65 years old and walk nine holes three days a week. I have carried but this is so much easier on my body. I have added a clicgear umbrella and I bought one of those plastic seats from Golfsmith I use when I have to wait or just want to take a break. I would walk eighteen holes but my left knee swells up and nine is comfortable for me When I have friends that want to do eighteen I ride the cart This course is hilly but it is no trouble pushing this up hill if anything it is more trouble going down hill which I just apply the hand break to slow it down or just let it go if there is no water ahead. I would emphasize do not buy the cheaper push carts they just dont hold up like this one or Sun Mountain. I prefer three wheels over four and did alot of research on these before I spent my money on one. I enjoy pushing this more than riding or carrying a bag...
  4. Being a senior golfer retired who walks nine holes on our league I notice some of us get brain dead while figuring out the score on the hole and may forget to count that trip into the sand trap and a few of the topped shots on the way to green so I think I can also relate to the question at hand. I had a five dollar clicker I used but the thing broke fast so I used ten beads on leather string but the problem is sometimes the beads slipped down while walking or you hit the ball and forget to pull down another bead. The best way I had explained to me by another senior golfer is to just hit the ball which is hitting one. The ball goes into the water or lost in the woods score one in and then two out of the water or woods (your penalty) and then your hitting three which is really laying two (not one because of penalty). You then hit three and if it goes into the woods or gets lost four in five out and you are laying five shooting six until you reach the green which when you land saying lets say you are on in six. Then I count the puts which I hope happens in two but more than likely three putt I add that to my score of six on the green which would be a total of nine for just for my example here. Now go ahead an laugh all you want but I thank God everyday I am still able to drag my worn out butt out on the golf course walk nine holes with my push cart with all the jokes I get about is it raining when I have my umbrella up to protect me from the heat and sun and still can remember to find the way there and back home. I can handle the jokes and love to send a few digs back also. I like that Callaway upro mx+ suggested and just googled info on it and just may end up buying one to help me out as they are reasonably priced . Thats the kind of info I think Liko 81 was asking for but got silly answers instead IMHO... .
  5. Good advice here. As I mentioned earlier I started hitting small buckets of balls at the driving range before I was ready when I had my rotator surgery done. Took time but after a year I am out golfing and loving it. Therapy and doing it even when you do not feel like it is so important if you want to heal properly.
  6. Waiting for my Red and Black Clicgear Umbrella I just purchased from Golfsmith with much anticipation. With the weather getting hot I find an umbrella on my push cart a breath of fresh air while golfing. Should be in the store tomorrow. I drive those salesmen crazy trying out used and new clubs, opening and closing umbrellas and trying them out on their Clicgear cart in the store. I love going there just glad I could finally buy something new... .

  8. I am doing well yrew and the tendons seem to hold well some 16 months after my surgery. Like someone else mentioned it was some time before I could golf and walked a par 3 nine hole course 3 days a week (retired) for exercise and also went to the range to practice. You know when you over do it if you wake up in the middle of the night with pain that feels close to having a heart attack. Then rest for several days and start over. I am 65 and golf on a senior league and try to get out and walk and golf three times a week and have found that at my age streching and exercise everyday is very important so as not to hurt or damage muscles. The other morning I showed up at our league and got sent out before I could warm up and as a result I suffered for three days because of it. I have a weighted driver I bought which is part of my self therapy I do and just swing it back and forth lightly and it does wonders keeping me loose enough to golf. I do not know how many years I have left to golf but it is life to me and I really enjoy my mornings walking nine holes out on a regulation course trying to constantly improve my game. One thing I have learned is how to swing smoother with less effort throughout all my clubs and I have I feel improved to a new level in my game. I hope that you continue to improve through therapy and common sense exercises and just continue to enjoy the game in moderation and enjoy what you have to work with until you are 100% healed and it will all work out in time.
  9. Over a year ago I had Rotator surgery (two tendons that where torn reattached). I started slow like you but several times I over did it and was in some uncomfortable pain because of it. I would first talk to your PT and doctor and ask them how much and far you can swing as you do not want to go back and have them redo everything. Shoulder can give you much trouble as you get older so I found out the hard way. Take your time and listen to what your doctor tells you so you can golf long into your golden years. Just my .02 cents here since you asked. Hope it heals fast and all works out for you.
  10. Hot today so pulled out the old umbrella and it made a world of difference. Everywhere I went I had shade and so far I figure with the money I have saved up since I bought this this cart is half way payed for. Birthday is coming up and I think one of my kids is purchasing the seat for me. Next purchase is the clicgear or similar umbrella with the air flow slots.
  11. Today my GPS phone app Free Caddie quit half way through the course and gave me unrealistic numbers with question marks after each of them. First time this happened and while it was not a big deal to me I would be upset if I spent all that money on a GPS watch that did the same thing. I am thinking that just maybe there is a big advantage using the range finder over the GPS now. Most of the time I am looking for a place to lay up as just relying on my 3 wood gets me in drainage ditches and swamps that are not supposed to be there. Battery used to be a problem on my cell phone but there is an app called JuiceDefender that increases you battery life by taking control of your cell phone apps. This helped but bottom line is I want to know distances to where I want to hit the ball rather than just the front, center and back of the green. Driving range is one place GPS is useless so I may be picking up a range finder in the near future and use my cell phone for what it was designed for which is making phone calls.
  12. For you techs out there that like to really study these carts (I know I did all winter) try taking two of them turn them upside down and spin the wheels at the same rate of speed to see what good bearings can do to help push your cart. I did this with the Clicgear 3.0 and the Sun Mountain three wheel cart that looks similar. Had the sales guy at Golfsmith turn them over so the front wheel was up in the air. Took both wheels and spun them equally best as I could. Did this two different times and the Sun Mountain was spinning twice as long after the Clickgear's wheel stopped spinning. I have to believe that Sun Mountain spent a little more on the bearings they use but at the end of the day I bought the Clicgear 3.0 mainly because I could get mine for about forty dollars cheaper. Both are excellent carts just wanted to share some of the work I did checking all these carts out before I made a decision on which one to buy.
  13. No I have used it for both my cart bag and stand bag and it works great. The clicgear has easy to use straps to hold the bag in place. My bags do not have pockets where the carry strap is located so it they both fit snug into the nest of the cart. Just got back from nine holes today and unless I am doing eighteen holes as I am 65 years old I'm happy I spent the money I did on the Clicgear. Once you get one of these or the Sun Mountain three wheel cart is nice also you will wonder how you ever got along without it. Just remember you get what you pay for...
  14. I love my 3.0 and the more you open and close it the easier it gets. Do a search on youtube as there are some very imformative videos on opening and closing it. I will be adding a seat to mine next which will take time getting used to I am sure but this cart is so much fun the more you use it the more you appreciate how well it is made. Mine was a Christmas present so I opened it and closed it while it sat in my living room waiting for Spring to arrive in Michigan so it is second nature for me to get out and open it up without much thought anymore. I figure I have saved thirty or more dollars in cart fees already and the best part is I am having fun exercising and losing weight walking instead of riding.
  15. I'm wondering about the umbrella and have let my wife know I want the seat for my cart for my upcoming birthday. Best price I have found is around $38.00 on Amazon. I am walking nine holes at Bruce Hills several times a week and find my self waiting behind foursomes using gas carts so the seat will be a nice break for my aging knees. The course is hilly and pushing up hill is not as bad as pulling a cart to me and because the clicgear is so stable I just let it roll down hill on its own stopping at the bottom. Just have to make sure there is not water at the bottom of the hill or have to walk back up to hit my ball. Really this cart is everything I could have hoped for and more as it makes golfing that much more enjoyable. Like having a caddy with you that doesn't talk. I was hesitant at first spending the money but after trying this cart three times now I am looking forward to walking more and will be working up to 18 holes as this senior gets in shape throughout the summer. Glad to see others enjoying their push carts as well.
  16. Good job on the customizing. What do you think about adding one of those seats? I am also thinking of buying one of those folding Golfsmith seats and a cooler for those hot days ahead. Glad to hear you have so much use on this cart and hoping to get out three days a week (retired) and enjoying life with mine.
  17. Purchased a Clicgear 3.0 on clearance at Dick's Sporting Goods last winter and have used it twice now. I have to say I love it and enjoy using it more than riding in a cart (or carrying a bag). I lost the umbrella holder and the ranger brought it out to me the only problem I had with it. From reading everything I could on these carts (I even had the salesman at Golfsmith hold the front wheel on both the Sun Mountain version and a Cligear 3 they had in the store while I spun the wheels to see which one spun the longest to check the bearings). I would take either one of these carts as they are very well built but sales price was what made my decision to buy I almost lost it in the lake but caught it as it began to roll so now I make sure to set the brake on a hill. Pushing a heavy bag with extra water and snacks included is near effortless and going down the hill I let it loose and it comes to a gentle stop at the bottom. I walk 9 holes and run across balls the folks in front roll right on by without seeing them and just enjoy the sceanery while pushing the thing around. Watching the guys on my league pulling their carts and having done so in the past I will say this is the best investment I have ever made next to my golf clubs. I will be back out Monday morning and can't wait.
  18. I like the Myth alot (North of Rochester) and it is owned by the same folks that own Bruce Hills. I live closer to Bruce Hills and will be playing the league this year also. Last year I walked and played the Myth par 3 for exercise and fun 3 days a week. You cannot walk the main 18 hole course at the Myth as you need a cart to get around. Look for coupons and they sell a card that gets a free 18 holes of golf and $4.00 off every time you play also. I pay $8.00 senior to walk the par 3 and the longest hole is 168 yards but lot of water and challenging. I carry a light weight bag and irons for the par 3 and purchased a Clicgear push cart I plan on doing 9 holes at Bruce Hills senior league. Nice to have places I can afford to golf at. Greystone is my favorite in the area but unless I can get golfnow deal it is to pricey for me.
  19. Played the back nine at Bruce Hills this morning. Beautiful day near 80 degrees...
  20. I live in Washington TWP and play Myth, Bruce Hills, Hickory Hollow mostly. I took a few walks this spring trying out free caddy on my cell phone at Stoney Creek and was real impressed with both the course and app. I plan on walking the senior league at Bruce Hills on Monday mornings with my new push cart if the body can take it...
