  1. What I post is what I believe, if what I post on the "my swing" threads is not wanted I will stop.
  2. ok,but are you using any kind of baseball grip?
  3. I never liked these tees and towels and things stuffed under armpits exercises.I can't really tell but do you have a baseball grip or at least the right index finger and thumb in that fashion? We can all see you have that over the top move when you get to the top which I guess you want to fix-is that right? On take away you are waving the club away with your left wrist/hand,that should be in a cupped mode, not flat wristed at that point..On the downswing the club has gone way past parallel to the ground when the hands reach the right thigh. I don't think you should assume you have it all right and just need a tweak,I think there is a bit more involved but your swing rhythm says you are at least on the dance floor.
  4. Look how short Padrig's swing is:
  5. A golf swing when looking reasonably good is even harder to analyse.I would say the wrists are sloppy at the top and when the hands get to the right thigh on the downswing, the club shaft has gone well past the recommended parallel to the ground position.I think you need to tighten the swing up...shorten it.
  6. Mackingchicken.....there are some top players with strong grips and many more with neutral ones. There are flat wrists and a few (not many)bowed wrists at the top. What you want to do is understand the grip is two hands not one and that the wrists at address are not in the same position as they are at impact. btw...do you still have that 60* shoulder turn what the top?
  7. Well 99prblms that is a very fine question. If you get into your chipping stance with a short iron then tilt your right shoulder down to the extreme so the left shoulder is now much higher than the right, then chip balls several dozen times without skulling or hitting it fat ,you may be well on your way to better ball striking.
  8. I thought your post 15 swing looked much better than post 20 at the 9 o'clock position. In post 20 the club head is way outside the hands with the club face almost facing the ground. It looks like you are trying to make some compensating move but have overdone it.I can't really see what what you are doing with that right hand but I suspect it's hurting you.At one point it looked like it was turned too much to the right with the Hogan swing breaker index finger likely controlling things. You and Zack don't look the same at 9 o'clock on the takeaway.
  9. Right on both counts,shortstop20
  10. Looks major league to me.
  11. iacas....my understanding is the Hogan right ankle/foot was to set up the right knee brace which in turn set up lower body resistance to the upper body turn creating torque .
  12. MBD....Ben Hogan had an extra spike in his right shoe for extra support since he angled that ankle in meaning the outside of that foot was slightly off the ground. This provided the support he wanted for the right knee creating the brace that would drive his hips and legs forward.Something to keep in mind. These guys have more tricks than we realize.
  13. Years ago when Sam Snead was asked how he hit draws and fades he said I think about it.This was a mind blower for the questioner but today we basicallly see this going on here.
  14. slightlymad....further to our conversation yesterday, watch DJ's hand action on the club during set up,that isn't nervous activity,it's getting the club set in his hands.Very much a feel action but one that is actually creating the correct weight balance.
  15. To my eye this swing should work,it's pretty good. What happens when you hit a ball?
  16. One thing about my old putter is that I know the sound it makes when I strike the ball squarely and the ball rolls so purely.I putt from an open stance,I don't see how I can be anything but open to see the line better and get a sense of feel.I also get a better sense of the line from behind the cup looking back towards the ball .
  17. impactswing...this is a little bit like telling someone to have dance rhythm...if you don't have it,you don't have it.With golf however there are mechanical steps that can get you there.
  18. Has anything changed from the post # 1 FO swing ? My impression is you are still struggling with a big left shoulder dip and reverse pivot.IMO what you described in this current post is not helping that situation at all,at all. Try this and see if there is any different sensation to this point: 1-club in hands, club head off the ground 2-standing tall/straight up 3-legs straight,no knee bend 4-bend at waist 5-bend knees 6-cupped left wrist(club head not touching the ground) 7-make a very slow one piece hand and arm takeaway maintaining that cupped angle in the left wrist(club head still a few inches above the ground) allowing club face to go where it wants until hands reach a tad past the right thigh. .....anything feel different.
  19. Remember when you were learning to drive a car,it needed focus on seemingly numerous things, now you can do it without even thinking. As with the grip, there are a number of SUBTLE things required that makes all the difference. Its more than which hand is on first, that is an optional piece but important .The majority of pros get the left hand on correctly first. When you watch Erik in the 5 keys vids,he gets the left hand on correctly first, then the right .
  20. I would be interested in knowing what Ernie's swing thought is at takeaway....aside from telling me to eff off.
  21. It is impossible to grab the club as casually as you do with none of the subtle adjustments pros make and have the correct grip. Not to mention the obvious right hand thumb handicapper error. Essentially it requires some basic moves and you don't do them.
  22. Just about anything written will be a band-aid but some things to keep in mind are,at address we have a cupped wrist which it appears you have, that cup angle remains constant until or a little past the right thigh on takeaway. If you are thinking early wrist cock be very careful with that term. There is a difference between wrist cock and hinge.Keep that cupped angle to start things off, also that right thumb on top of the club will be a problem no matter how lightly placed.Hogan called the right thumb and index finger swing breakers.
  23. I was about to write a tedious explanation but it's best to experiment yourself and try the fingers both on top of the left hand index and middle finger as well as in between.I suggest you get the right hand on and adjust the left hand to it.
  24. I still don't understand this double flare foot concept ,one headed east the other west. But that aside, with a prosthesis in your right hand, have you ever experimented with the Jim Furyk double overlap grip.
  25. My Tiger post to baw1 was meant to compare the lower body differences between him and TW.They are not the same.Baw1 has not reached the fine tuning stage of talking degrees of difference,he is at the knocking chunks off the sculpture before we get to the sanding stage.
