  1. I have not been on this forum a long time, however in my experiences with other forums it is not a good idea to attack established members. I would bet you are a 16 or 17 year old kid (the username, the way you type, dead giveaway). You have no real sense of business and came here with no formal plan, a lack of ideas, and poor grammar. This means a few things to me, first of all you just thought of this idea. Secondly you are wasting everyones time. I know that because you have done no research at all, and you have no plan at all. Lastly, you come onto a website that is loaded with potential future customers of yours and began attacking them within your first 2 posts. I would say you are off to a fantasic start. I can almost bet that you can talk to any succesful business owner and they have a whole list of people that they know who helped make their dream of owning a business a reality, you will never get to that point attacking people on online forums. You have no idea who is out there, there could be an investor with a truckbed of money ready to invest in a project like this at the drop of a hat, how would you ever know if you are burning bridges before making any connections? With that said welcome to the boards jackass.
  2. Since I started playing I have taken a 50/50 approach to this theory. When I am practicing I set up my 2 tees and a ball then work on not hitting the tees and my tempo with my eyes over the ball. Then when I go out and play I am comfortable with my setup and everything so I look at the hole or my target. It really seems to help most of the time.
  3. I am very happy to have picked 3 guys who finished as high as they did! Congrats to the winner.
  4. Baseball grip on driver. Interlocking everything else and i think I putt better left handed even though I play right handed.
  5. A guy at the driving range near me the other day changed my grip where the thumb goes over and just lightly touches my finger instead of it being parallel to the shaft. I hit 5 of the best drives ive ever hit after that. Then since it was almost closing time he let me go down range onto the range and just hit pitch shots with the new grip. I was amazed that I got such clean contact with the ball. I was taking my divot in front of the ball more often than before and this is within 30 minutes of changing my grip. It may have been that little bit I needed to start improving my game. I am now a firm believer that grip completely changes the game.
  6. Rickie Fowler -8 Jordan Spieth -11 Bubba Watson -9
  7. It does feel good for sure! I was hesitant to buy them at first but decided better irons may improve my game just a little, so it is worth it. Next purchase will probably be new golf shoes Nike Dunk Golf Shoes then a Nike Stand bag
  8. I was playing quick earlier this year and 2 older gentlemen were in front of me so they allowed me to play through. I teed up and hit a shot just left of the cartpath. So I go the exact spot I saw the ball land and its not there. It didnt hit the path or anything else, it should have been exactly where I went. I turn and look at the 2 gentlemen and ask Is this where it landed? One of them nods yes and the other yelled absolutely. So I walked area right around there nothing. They come over to help me and nothing, we spent 10 minutes looking for that ball and walked nearly the entire hole with no sign of it. No idea what happened there.
  9. I bought a new set of Nike Irons from a user on eBay at a pretty good price. I really enjoy the clubs so far and look forward to actually swinging them on a course. I went to the range the other day and feel like I have a little better control on distance with these. I went from swinging Ram G-Force Irons to Nike so it is a completely different feel. As you can tell from my profile pic I am a huge fan of Nike Golf. I have only been playing for a year and this is the first time I have spent $200+ on an item. This sport gets expensive quickly! Im loving it though.
  10. When I was watching Valero last week I didnt think Loupe was that slow. I also think that slow players almost have an advantage as they have more time to calm down from a bad shot or a bad ruling (kegan bradley having to play the ball from behind the tent/tree yesterday with no sightline). Slower play can make for better shots which kind of evens it out in my opinion. 2 good shots vs 4 poor shots were you walk and change clubs between every shot seems like a better option.
  11. Happy Gilmore would have had to yell "IS THIS HOLE REGULATION SIZE OR WHAT!"
  12. I pledge to create a golfer in 2014! Buying my girlfriend her first set of clubs tonight. I think she wants to play but im not sure its worth taking a 110 dollar chance.
  13. That is usually what happens. I think I have hit 2 of my longest drives ever into that field.
  14. When I play golf I do the good old Tiger Woods, let the club drop behind me and cuss at myself in 3rd person. So a bad shot goes something like this for me: *Slices the driver 260 yards into the trees* Club drops behind me* I say to myself "Nice shot Darron you f****** idiot" *Pick up my club* Head to the cart *Find my ball* Repeat process 4 times (or more)* I threw a club 1 time the first time I was out (some old rented junkers) it hit a tree and it came back at me quickly, wont do that again. My favorite form of stress relief is on one of my home courses there is a giant field next to one of the holes so if I am playing poorly at that point I grab a crappy ball from my bag and hit it as far and as hard as I can into the field,it makes me feel better lol.
  15. I do a little of both. I wish the range 1 mile down my street did not suck as bad as it does. The range does not really cut their grass which is horrible for their "irons range". On the irons range I can drop a ball and just see the top of it most of the time, which is good for me, I mean im usually in deep rough anyway. So its either go hit 50 golf balls for $15 or drive 10 more miles and play a round for $15 on a par 3 course. I usually choose to go play. I keep my Range/Round ratio at about 1:3 and work on my swing in my yard with no ball or Almost Golfballs.
  16. I have my first birdie. I will probably keep all of my firsts except Par (which has happened multiple times). I kept playing with my birdie ball after the birdie then after just about losing it I decided to put it in my bag.
  17. There is not really a reason for wanting a specific handicap. I just consider a single handicap golfer a fairly good player. I feel like single digits is a nearly realistic goal and I just like having something to work towards. I was a 4 year high school baseball player. I graduated in 2013 and needed something competitve so my buddies drug me to the golf course to laugh at me I realized how fun and competitive it can be and so has begun my obsession. Creating goals for myself is the only way I'm going to get where I want to be so that's why I came up with a single digit handicap.
  18. I only have one goal in golf really. That is to have a single digit handicap by the end of like next year (2015).Being a midwest golfer winter is tough to practice the game though. I do not know what my current handicap is nor do I care to know. I know that whatever level I am at is not where I want to be. I want to be 10 times better than what I am now. I feel like golf can be an easier game as I create a better swing. I dont have too much of a problem driving the ball and I hit it around 265-280 (I was told this is a little better than average for a player my skill set i have no clue though). My irons are the main problem currently and I usually 2 putt. My putting drills are the classic tiger woods 2 tee drill and rolling over a quarter from about a foot which made a huge difference on short putts for me. SIDE NOTE: I UNDERSTAND COMPLETLY THAT THIS IS A VERY AMBITIOUS GOAL. BUT PLEASE BE SUPPORTIVE.
  19. ive been going through some threads. Seems like a pretty tight community compared to most forums I am on. It dont seem like too much bickering or anything so thats good. If I seen a bunch of that I would be outta here quick lol. I am on forums for all of my hobbies (I have a ton of hobbies).
  20. Hi everyone! I am Darron from St.Louis, Missouri. I have been playing for less than a year (I started in July). It started out as a joke to be quite honest, my buddies had started 2 years ago and they decided to drag me along one day. We played a par 3 course (I think par is 59 on that course) and I had not went to a driving range or anything. I shot an 87 with a set of rented from the course, junk clubs. Compared to their fancy cobra drivers and whatever irons they had that day I was a little behind the curve. I somehow managed beating one of them while losing by like 4 to the other. Although it was nothing mind boggling I was proud that I was able to beat guys that had played 2 years longer than I had, had actually been to the driving range, and have had lessons. I am now trying as hard as I can to learn the correct everything. I do a lot of drills for putting and irons play. I have went out 3 times this year already and I go to the driving range at least 2 times a week. As I learn club selection I am getting better. I went from making 3 putts to usually having 2 putts. All 3 times out I have played my irons very poor.So for now I will wrap up this long winded post and end with this I look forward to becoming a part of your forums and cant wait to learn.
  21. I use the Golf Galaxy scorecard holder which is junk, but eeps my card from blowing out of my pocket. But as far as the weird size cards I keep a small pair of scissors in my bag so that if its too big I can cut them down, when possible.
