  1. Also this is something I have been thinking about after reading some of the GPS threads. If you're so worried about balls so much why don't you see something wrong with a GPS. It is part of the game to be able to judge yardage for the appropriate club. You should not be allowed to have a gadget that tells you exactly how far away you are front the front/back/center of a green. If you cannot judge distances properly then that is part of your game that needs work. It is like any other part of the game. Just some thoughts that came to me since there are alot of people who are so picky about little rules, such as using the EXACT same type of ball for the entire round. I find it weird people like that do not think gps's are an unfair advantage. Not that I don't want one though
  2. I honestly don't see the big deal here. Yes obviously you can't use a long ball off the tee then trade it in for a pro v1 when you get near the green but besides that I see no problem in using whatever type of ball you like. If my ball goes OB I just go grab whatever ball my hand touches first when I take the drop. I don't care if it's not the same model, I don't care if its not the same brand, it's a golf ball and what did I hit before? A golf ball. This is obviously not applicable during tournament play. But when I just go play with my friends, I don't care when I grab a different ball after OB and I don't care if you do either. You worry about your game and I'll worry about mine. Sorry to be bit of a rant but sometimes its the ignorant rule pricks who ruin the game.
  3. My local course plays 11 holes instead of 9 and I shot a 49 total with a 41 for the nine. 10 and 11 are a par 5 and 3 also. I was happy this is good for me but I really wish I could have played the whole 18 as I was feeling really good about my game. Still beat my friends though
  4. I always return clubs when I find them on the course it's just etiquette. Plus if I lost mine I would expect it to be returned. But if I found an Ft-i or a Tour Burner TP I might just have to tee off with it on a hole or two as I finish up my round and head back to club house to return it
  5. To be honest a good drive for me usually ends up at about 260-280 with the Superquad. But my longest is 322, funny story to go with that too. I was with an older friend playing, he's got a good 30+ years on me and there was a group of his friends in front of us that had been pissing him off all day. So on the next par 5 he decided he would try to drive up on them and he ended up duffing it he tried swinging so hard, so then I was like alright I'll give it a shot and I just hit a monster. It sailed right over their heads as they were a bit past the 250 marker and we got up their and skycaddied it from the tee box and it read 322
  6. Yeah I use a Victoria II also and love it. My putting has gotten so much better with it too I never knew I could sink putts like I do now. Now I actually have confidence on putts 8 feet or longer. I consistently make harder and harder putts.
  7. My bag does go with my driver but that is just because I liked that bag the most. I was actually going in to get a Nike but when I saw the Taylormade I had to have it.
  8. Well like I said I never put much thought into the CCi's but it seems I should.
  9. Yeah talk about a glare problem there. I never took people who complained about glare that seriously, but with a club like that now I understand. Beautiful club, but I think I too will stick to my Vokey for now.
  10. Well I have been playing with my dad's Callaway X-20's for a week or so and already shot a new low, 86. Decent I guess for just really getting into golf this summer. But now I have decided I can't use his irons anymore (even though he never plays and is just learning ) and need to get a new set for myself, I had currently been using Nike CPR irons. Well I love the X-20's but had been doing some research andfound that the 08 Big Bertha's are even more forgiving and even better game improvement irons which I found to just suck me in. So now I am drawn to the BB's and have found a few sets for decent prices on ebay. BUT now I found a set of New NIke CCI's listed on Craigslist for $300. I never looked into these too much but from what I can tell this is a very good price. I read some reviews and they seem to be average irons but nothing too special, does anyone here have any personal experience with these irons? I hope to make my purchase soon but I don't want to rush it and buy something off impulse. I have been golfing since I was about 12 but never seriously. Last summer I played a fair amount and got down to about a 98-102 average. Now I am low 90's and shot in the mid 80's last time I played. My skill level is improving and I am looking for irons to help me continue this.
  11. I use a Black Taylormade Monacco Cart Bag. Personally I love the bag, it looks really sharp and holds everything I need. $149 also.
  12. Well I never really had too much of a preference until recently. I found a Nike ONE Platnium one day and played with it rest of the round form about hole 3 and never lost it, it even had some deep scratches in it when I found it. I played the ball great and tried some more of them and I now love the ball. I's my first favorite ball.
  13. Yeah I think it really is an etiquette issue for the most part. I always walk around other's putts and make sure not to step in anyone's line but if someone does it to me I don't really see the big deal. I guess I just make sure not to because I know it bothers alot of people. The only time it does bother me and it did bother me yesterday, is when I am going to for a tough birdie or par putt and I really need it (who doesn't need it though) and the green is soggy and wet from rain. THEN it does leave a nice implant on the grren that could effect a putts outcome. But otherwise, go right ahead.
  14. I use a a coin from Costa Rica, I can't remember the name of it but it's nice. That or the clip on one from a glove if I forgot the coin.
  15. My goals for the 2008 season from here are pretty simple as I've already broken others. So what's left is... -Break 80 since I already broke 90 and -NEVER 3 putt Shouldn't be too hard right ?
  16. I played 36 yesterday with two different groups of guys. In the morning I shot a mediocre 96 and was pretty dissapointed. The second round I was pretty tired and not in the best mood as I was expecting more from the first round. Then it began raining right before we were about to tee off on 1 so we had to head back and wait it out so then after another shower we finally got underway. I played the first half of the front nine awful and then the second half mediocre for a 46. On the back I picked it up alot and made abirdies and 4 more pars to go along with my 3 on the front and ended up with a 40 for a new all time low of 86 ! I am very happy about this especially since it was a pretty hard course and the fact I shot new low but I felt that I could do alot better and could have at least shot an 80 or 81 if I didnt play the front bad. So next time here comes low 80's !
  17. Sort of a funny but good shot for me yesterday. About a 360 yd par 4 I drove about 250 out and 40 to the left off the tee and then had a difficult shot from the left so I hit a Vokey 54* about 100 or so out and hit into the sand bunker and then my ball bounced out to be about 3 feet from the hole ! I knocked it in for birdie and walked away smiling as a tough bunker shot was turned into an easy birdie putt
