  1. It's hard for me to say, big Football fan (go Bears), but the NFL stars are just local stars! Nobody, but here in US, knows about Romo, Brady or Manning! Local stars! Sad but true! Step outside US and everything you hear is Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Beckam! Big companies, like Mcdonalds, Coca Cola, IBM notice that. Heck, even Tiger Woods and Kobe are more known outside US (Biggest US Sport Exports PGA and NBA). Nobody likes our version of the football. Big companies know that, because it's a simple math for them: what is bigger market: 300.000.000 people or other 6 billion? Pure math! Also, about the TV, last world cup viewership was so big, that the last superbowl 90 million people was joke. Even african cup, and Copa America have more viewers. Euro 2008 had viewership of about 3 to 3 and a half billion people! Go compete with that! That's why I like and I watch football(soccer)!
  2. As a White Sox fan, it was hard to watch

  4. I hope the glove doesn't give you "electric shock" every time if your grip is not correct!
  5. One of my golfing buddies use to have similar problem! He switched from TM r5 Dual N TI Driver 450cc to GBBII 415cc 10* regular, and he fixed the slice. Funny but true, I know! We have about same handicaps, he sacrificed the distance for about 5-15 yards on his drives, but he gained a lot in accuracy, which is more important, for high handicappers (my opinion), than the distance! Go ahead and try it!
  6. If you have right tools and supplies, do it yourself! If not, tho cost of the tools and supplies might be higher than re-gripping the clubs by pro shop. You will definitely need a Bench Vise and a rubber vise clamp for holding shaft. Then you will need a double sided grip tape and grip solvent solution. I hope you have garage or other isolated (from the living area) work space because the gripping solution smells! The vise clamp, double sided tape and the grip solvent solution will cost you around $20. The grips, depends of what kind of grips you like, between $1.50 and $9. Also, check YouTube for some instructional re-gripping videos. If you've decided to regrip yourself, please inform us how it went! Post some pictures! Good Luck!
  7. My average is 200-220 on a good day! One time (in the band camp ) I've hit 260! The fairway was downhill! Mainly I focus on the straightness of the drive, not the distance. I've tried, probably, 5-10 drivers, with different lofts, different shafts, all of them promising +20-30 yards. The end result was always the same with a minor differences. My current driver gives me the consistency of the shot and that is all I need. But, I must admit, I would really like to hit, once, a 300 yards drive!
  8. The entire week on TV, nothing but Sergio, Phil and Tiger left toe nail (or whatever about Tiger). I love Harrington. Always below the radar! Nobody talks about him! Last year, The Open, 1st major win, he caught them (the golf journalists) off guard! "He is a One timer, and I don't think we'll be hear from him soon" July 2008, The Open, Biggest story, The Shark! And what happens, BAM Harrington again! August 2008, PGA Championship, Sergio, Sergio, Sergio, Phil, Phil, Phil, Tigers knee, Tigers Knee, Tigers Knee. And what happens! From the left field, Paddy again. Wait a minute lads! I'm here too, and I'm going to win! Second straight. Way to Go Padraig Harrington, Slàinte Mhath!!!
  9. After Mark Calcavecchia and John Daly completed the final round in the Tournament Players' Championship in 2 hours and 3 minutes, both were fined by the U.S. P.G.A. for playing too quickly. Daly shot an 80 and Calcavecchia an 81. http://www.scigolf.com/scigolf/19th/strange2.htm
  10. Does this mean, let say for example, you are a pro, and you buy 200-300 wedges that will last you until the end of your career, will USGA still "grandfather" you in?
  11. I Guess this will be turned in to a project! OK, I will post BEFORE and AFTER Pictures! I'll go to a local Golf Store tomorrow and ask the price.
  12. Here is the URL of the titleist.com: http://www.titleist.com/historical_c...ails.asp?id=49 They were manufactured between 1972-1977

  14. My long time (10+ years) next door neighbor (88 years old), who is moving in AZ Friday, called my son today and gave him an old MacGregor Leather bag (big brown and green behemoth) with, I can easily say, 3 sets of mixed clubs from the sixties and seventies. He knows that my son is crazy about golf. There are old MacGregor irons, with Tommy Armour signature on it, some Wilson and Presidential irons with strange numbers like 10, 11 and 12 (back then they were calling the sand wedge SAND IRON) and the complete set 2-SW Titleist Acushnet AC 108 irons with Tungsten alloy inserts. The shafts are True Temper D1 Regular. The Grips are Golf Pride, but in very bad condition and deteriorating on some of the clubs. My son fell in love in the Titleist clubs. He wants to play with them, but they are too long for him. Do you think is a good idea to go to the Golf Professional shop and shorten or replace the shafts and change the grip so he can use them? My son is bugging me whole afternoon to ask this question! Also, I would like to thank you all for your overwhelming response for my last week question about my son first time on the golf course. We were having a great time. Thank you again!
  15. $139 for a Odyssey White Hot XG 2-Ball Putter 35" I hated that thing!!! I'm glad I get rid of it! Good resale value! I almost got the same price that I've paid for it. I switched to Ping ($89).
