Q.E.D. You have no substantive reason to determine a set of clubs is crap but since you decree it, it is so. Must be nice to be all knowing, but then again you did write a book and you are the king of the site, so I submit to your holiness. Bye.

My frequency machine was purchased on ebay 5 years ago for $200. Just because you have never ever seen what I've described doesn't mean it isn't so. You clearly have never been to where I live. There are always 25-50, sometimes more, carts with bags in the parking lot and cart parking area of multiple clubhouse restaurants on a daily basis. So, what is ludicrous, is that you would put yourself out there with your 15 years of golfing experience and make such a ludicrous conclusion.

I built my set for under $200. Grips ($42), heads ($96), and shafts ($30), epoxy, ferrules, shipping, tax, misc. (

When all the CGs are the same, them CG doesn't matter, just loft. Not sure why you have to spend > $1000 to get "not crap". You never even saw the quality of the iron heads I put into my set, so not sure how you can be so sure you know what you're talking about. All the iron heads of the big manufacturers are made in China just like mine were. Pinhawk heads are made to exacting specs. I checked every one for loft and lie and total weight against the companies specs and they were within 1/2 degree and 1 gram, not sure you could say the same about the big manufacturers off the shelf $1000 sets. Apollo shafts and Winn grip are not exactly what I would call "crap". So, keep shoveling the status quo to the sheep, and selling the high priced arrows to the Indians. Everyone needs to make a living.

The best things about single length irons: One ball position for all irons, They all weight the same, They are all swing weight matched, they are all MOI matched, They are all frequency matched shafts, They are all FLOed. and you get all this for less than $200 to build a set 4-PW.
-
Not for me, I don't have the one plane swing though. I use my single length irons with a classic two plane setup.

Birdie putt on 17 to go 2 up for the individual NCAA title.

Saw his name mentioned on the 1irongolf.com website, didn't realize he was still in college? His irons are all the same length. I opted to have 5-PW at 37.25 and 52/56/60 at 35.5 inches.

Callaway Chrome Soft vs the Duo vs The Pro V
rdsandy replied to Mugs050's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I use the MG C4 (20/doz). I think it is better than a Pro V. I still have a few Pro Vs in the bag and will use them randomly but if I have an important hole, or a match is on the line I always search in the pocket for the C4 to tee up. I also tried Wilson duos (yellow), like them but not as much as the C4. I like that I can carry a yellow ball in my pocket for easy provisional identification. -
Unexpected Lost Ball - No Provisional - What Do You Do?
rdsandy replied to GlasgowsGreen's topic in Rules of Golf
He didn't say the hole was not completed, he said since the hole was completed outside the rules you take the most probable score. Had the hole not been completed you then take par plus handicap. -
Playing Golf with Someone Carrying a Weapon
rdsandy replied to boogielicious's topic in The Grill Room
The poll question mentioned nothing about brandishing. If I played golf with you and you new I had a concealed carry permit, you could assume I had a gun. Would you feel uncomfortable? Brandishing implies a rash, hot head etc. I doubt anyone would feel comfortable in that situation, gun or not. -
New Clubs - How much is too much
rdsandy replied to disco111's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
$250 is my cost for a set of custom built irons. Swingweight +/- 1, frequency matched +/- 3 CPM, FLO shafts and loft/lie adjusted for my WTF length and equal distance gapping with Winn Dri Tac grips. But I build my own clubs. -
I can definitely tell a big difference between the Wilson Duo white vs yellow cover. The white is soft like a pro V1, the yellow is harder.

When I was in Corolla last year it seemed like the deals were to be had on the moving days for renters, Fri, Sat and Sun.

I find him mildly refreshing, saying things that others are not willing to but are surely thinking. He will probably get into trouble one day for that, but I'm not sure he cares enough to turn into just another talking head for the network.
-
Why not, I thought golf was about shooting scores not pretty swings.
-
So what was your score?
-
I'm not familiar with those shafts.
-
Yes, if I was a better putter I'd be a 5.0 instead of a 9.0. While you guys were psychoanalysing me today I was playing golf. Had 38 putts, not good. 3-3 putts, one 4-putt, 3-1 putts. To be fair, I was trying a new putting technique that I probably should have practiced first. One chip in from the fringe, one sand save from 15 yards. 13.6 differential
-
Doesn't matter. I still stand by my preference that I'd rather have a 20 foot bunker shot than a 60 foot putt, period.
-
No, if my average strokes for the bunker shot is 2.66 (1 of 3 up/down) then the average strokes for the 60 footer is more than 2.66, like 2.75 (1 out of 4 two putts). It' just math.
-
Well I used to be "real crap" at bunker shots so I devoted all my time to bunker practice, that's why I can get up and down from 20 foot bunker more often than a 60 foot putt. But you're right I will practice my 60 footers to get them off the "real crap" list.
