  2. Super important tip : allign the line on the ball to your intended target, it will cut down ur putting stroke like crazy
  3. Err, im not pro, but i ve seen more ott rather than casting, especially the op sounds like he can hit the ball quite well, so maybe it was OTT, although ive seen some ppl being a flipper still can play decent round :-D most ppl based on my small experience tend to lose balance if they cast from the top, but still like you said a well timed flip might not, but then again, it just an opinion. This is golf, everything is a " Not neccesarily" :~( Cheers
  4. Right, dont blame the equipment yet, the moment you think that all your bad day due to equipment. You're in big trouble, basically equipment does matter on certain degree, but if you just started, those will do, otherwise if you are serious with this game, it never too late to do custom fit according your height and wrist to floor, bla bla bla Good luck
  5. :-$ mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahagagah Anyway, for me it was last year, me n my buddy played on some course, then 6th hole, we catched up 4 girls in front of us, colourful clothes, pretty cute and they gave us a way, so we tee up, hit a really good drive, wowed them. Then we use our cart passed the ladies tee, act cool, while im checking my gps apps on my iphone, my friend try to open a bottle of beer while driving, then the disaster strucked us, we sent the cart straight to the bunker we ended up flip the cart into the bunker and we couldnt get out from the cart until a marshal came and save us. I havent play on that course again since that day :-(
  6. You just exposed the secret to play better golf dude. :-D @Joe - you are 7 handicap btw, i think it is more to mental side and Course management side now baby :-P Cheeeeeeerrs
  7. Alright, i did test 4 balls today played for 9 hole Using titleist, callaway, srixon and taylormade My titleist veolcity score 40 My callaway speed regime score 47 My srixon z star score 42 My taylormade rocketballz score 39 During tee off Rsult are varied, but callaway give me more distance than the rest most of the time Distance 1. Callaway somehow always 5-10 m more distance 2. Titleist 3&4 srixon & taylormade Approach All feel same to me honestly, couldnt tell the differences Fade or draw Both are draw, since my stockshot is draw, but callaway seem to draw the most not extreme though Trajectory All look same Feels Hard to describe, but i feel titleist is like punching a fat guy on his face, feel so much satisfaction while srixon is like punching skinny guy, can hear the *thud sound :-O Pitch Titleist seem to stop more quickly then the others, the rest quite similar Chip Couldnt tell differences, but i did a birdie chip in with taylormade :-D Putt Feel the same for all balls Overall Still have no idea hahahaha
  8. It is so weird, i nver check my ball position whenever i chip, just realised it today before answering this thread, i actually place it in front of my left chest :-O Tried to put it a bit behind and a bit forward, funny thing is it doesnt alter the distance too much, but the ball trajectory did change. Behind is more low trajectory and front is more high trajectory, hmm am i missing something here guys ? I feel like i found a new arsenal around the green now :-P
  9. Holy cow it looks almost identical as my first club :-D Anyway into your question 1. Actually if you feel the shock, u definetly not hit it solidly, nowdays club more like shock absorb in my opinion, cuz i tried both club so i know, plus nowdays club is way more forgiving, if you tops, the ball still fly pretty low, those club probably fly too, but u will hurt your hand in finger area much more. About the steel, we still use steel shaft for the irons nowdays anyway. 2. 3/4 irons are long irons and it meant to frustate the crap of us :-D just kidding, no you wont feel that way if you hit it solidly. I threw my 4 iron and change it to hybrid, cuz makes me more comfortable, but heck everyone got different taste on their club lineup 3. Now the driver is definitely a problem, it seems u re pretty accurate with the irons. So the old driver which is required to be hit solidly would probably frustate you. It wont sound the same as modern driver, but it will fly almost the same distance when hit solidly. Nowdays driver is much more easiert o hit 4. Congratz man, you are officially a golfer witt hat blisters around, it cant be helped, but if you can be more specific where the blister located 5. For me, i hold my brath and suck my stomach during the swing sequence 6. It doesnt really matter as long as u dont just pick it on sport store, get custom fit and u will love it Welcome to thew orld of golfing buddy Cheers
  10. Man iacas, lets just hope he is not a lurker in this forum :-D :-D :-D
  11. Try to purposely "cast" the club and see if that the same feeling as if you swing normally. Man you hit harder than me :-O If you cast, u will most likely lost balance and your finish will probably akward and feel so unbalance Maybe post a video, so guys here can accurately identify if youre casting or not. But i bet my first trophy underwear that you are not casting if you hit that far :-D Cheers
  12. Good to hear that sir, I reduced my handicap up to 10 strokes the moment i quit searching for perfect swing and accepted my style whatever it is. I used to get pissed whenever someone use 6 iron to cover 170m, well i'm satisfied right now to cover 170m with my 20 hybrid :-D Bad shots always hunting us whenever we go, learn to take it up to your chin, cuz what matter most is your next shot Cheers :-P
  13. If you hit well, it is very unlikely that you're casting, especially if you are so aware of it Can you tell us your distance on say 7- iron ? I see lots of ppl think that they are castin, but they're not and swing beautifully, maybe release a lil bit early sometimes Typical casting is grounded, slice, low distances Good luck sir ;-)
  14. Yup, im trying to differentiate couple balls for a while and see if there is a significance differences :-D Thx for the words guys
  15. Just finished 18, played 40 46 T.T , got ob n tripled on h16 par 4 sad sad sad ....
  16. Damn long par 4, how i hate this thing, i really rely on my up n down for this hole T.T
  17. There are 2 types of drills, one is grinding, which is try to make our muscle memory remember the moves, however not recommended if u are already a decent swinger, the others is hit balls just like when ure playing, preshot routine, take aim, same tempo which is much better for consistency. I always hit 50 balls long shot and 50 balls pitch, then chip putt til i get tired.
  18. Yup, im trying to differentiate couple balls, but they are all feels the same hahaha, anyway gotta try harder , beside what are u guys looking at when choosing ball anyway ? Except the looks or the logo ?
  19. Hi guys, my first question here to all of you :-D Does golf ball "actually" has impact on your game ? I'm talking about brand new golf ball here. If so, how can you tell the differences ? Such as high spin, extra distances , etc etc Cuz to be honest, i have no idea or feel nothing, never bothered much about the golf balls, my coach told me to start to choose 1 brand, but everything feels same to me :~( Does Anybody know a test method , so i can spot the strength and weakness of those balls and start to fool around with them for a while ? Thank you Hari "I'm not talented, that's why i work harder than most people"
  20. The main problem of shanking, based on my experience is tiredness and fatigue. Your body might feel up to it, but your ability to hold your posture, stance, wrist, grip, etc is unable to cope up wit your playing spirit. for other inconsistency is u made one bad shots, instead of take it up to your chin, you start to think about mecahnics and lose trust on your own swing and even worse, you tried to fix it during the game. I have a firm belief, if you hit 10 balls on the range and you hit at least 3 shots that you are absolutely love, you know how to swing already. Golf is a hand eye coordination sports, we're not machine where if the input is this then the output should be that. :-D Golf ain't fun if you hit it dead solid perfect all the time, seriously not even pga pros can do that. :-P Hari "I'm not talented, that's why i work harder than most people"
  21. there is a certain level of over the toppish ppl can be, however as long as it is not super terrible OTT that will make them have to reroute their downswing extremely such as lifting the left shoulder to square the club, scooping, etc, it will do for a while :-D and OTT doesnt necessarily pulled the ball to the left, it can be slice, grounded and topping or even hurt your muscle at worst. :-( Edit : if you want to get the sensation of over the top, get to the end of your backswing, instead of shifting weight, try to spin your left hip first, then you can feel the right shoulder and your club moving outside the plane, that is the recipe to do OTT Hari "I'm not talented, that's why i work harder than most people"
  22. Hi guys, Harry here from indonesia, love this game so much and hopefully i can gel wit u guys If any of you happen to visit Indonesia, especially Surabaya, i'll be gladly to accompany you for a round or two and show you around :-D Hari "I'm not talented, that's why i work harder than most people"
