  1. Followed by a bogey. Stenson starts with an eagle and a birdie. Impressive.
  2. Leishman after 4 holes today already as many bogeys as he had yesterday the whole round.
  3. Driving accuracy: 57,14% Driving distance: 322,9 Longest drive: 350
  4. Very disappointed by Luiten his score today. He's not playing well the last couple of weeks, hopefully he can turn things around tomorrow. His first year inside the top 50 of the world, so also his first time in tournaments like this....
  5. So it seems that Tiger and I have at least 1 thing in common
  6. Patrick Reed with a flying start: 3 birdies on the first 4 holes.
  7. Joost Luiten, apparently with a broken arm.
  8. My longest now is iron-5. If I want more distance I take my hybrid, but that's it. Besides that, I'm not a long hitter at all. Taking lessons now once a week, also for the first time I compete in tournaments and matches every now and then. Not very succesful, but I consider it to be a good experience and training. I'm really determined to get better, love the game.
  9. Interesting discussion. One which can be never-ending and is no clear answer on in my opinion. Yes, the competition in Jack his days is most probably much weaker then it is for Tiger nowadays. But if you would be able to put Jack in the present time, with better material, better proffesional guidance both in training as mentally he would probably be a better golfer then he was in his days. Would he win as much, that we can never know, because of the better competition also. Same goes for Tiger, put him in the 60's and his level of playing would probably be less (but maybe even win more?). To me, they both dominated an era in the golfsport, they both were (and Tiger still is) very important for the sport and brought it to the next level. Very impressive.
  10. Looking forward to it. My personal favorite Joost Luiten going in early in a flight with Fernandez-Castano I see. Would love to play on this course myself once, but that will probably never happen...
  11. I was B-Fit for Bridgestone E5 golf balls 1. Rory McIlroy -12 2. Martin Kaymer -12 3. Joost Luiten -12
  12. My mistake then regarding the handful of tournaments. I thought he only played a few, probably just looked at the Europe Senior Tour.
  13. Agreed when players are playing not well enough, that's why I said 'performing' besides playing. A player (Langer) who is playing only a handful tournaments per year, probably with pretty much no pressure, just doesn't deserve to be picked over players with a good record all year long in my opinion.
  14. Selecting Langer would be kind of a slap in the face of the players performing and playing whole year long on the Tour. Even besides from the fact that it is highly doubtful in my opinion if he will be able to perform on a level that is nessecary in the Ryder Cup. His season isn't build up towards the Ryder Cup in order to be on his best there, unlike a lot of other players.
  15. In my opinion Joost Luiten is also a serious contender for one of the captain's pick, I see you didn't name him. Coming just a bit short on both the European Points List and the World Points List to be in the team directly, but higher on those lists then Blixt, Molinari and Westwood for example. Also in the last year he played for Europe in the Seve Trophy (Continental Europe vs UK) and the EurAsia Cup winning most of his matches (in the Seve Trophy the best debut player together with Bourdy). Ofcourse I'm not completely objective since I would really want him to be the first Dutchman ever in the Ryder Cup, but he played both team matches by request of McGinley and his results are impressive this year (rarely missing a cut).
  16. Give Joost Luiten 1-2 more years and he might have a chance. His performance and progress the last few years after coming back from his wrist injury is amazing. T26 in his first appearance at Augusta this year.
  17. Favorites: - Joost Luiten (currently only 'official' in the European Tour, maybe next season he will choose to play full time on the PGA Tour) - Rickie Fowler - Miguel Angel Jimenez Least: - Bubba Watson - Sergio Garcia - Tiger Woods
  18. Financial controller at an IT company here in the Netherlands (Microsoft partner).
  19. Hello everybody, Just found out about this forum, and looking forward to discuss and share our passion about the beautiful game of golf. I started playing about 8 years ago, but since last year I'm more 'serious' about it, taking plenty of lessons and enjoy wonderful courses here in Holland. Also I watch it a lot on television, mostly the European Tour but also certain tournaments on the PGA Tour (especially when Joost Luiten is competing). So, hope to have a lot of fun here! Cheers.
