  2. carded an 11 once with 4 OB in a tournament qualifier. Then proceeded to miss the cut by 2.
  3. Byron does a great job too and he is very personal and accessible with his clientele. You won't be disappointed. Email him directly from his site and he will probably get back to you within a few hours depending on the time change.
  4. If someone starts telling me there are rules above and beyond those of golf it will be the last time I play with that person AND it will be the ONLY thing I talk about during the round.
  5. yoga pants.... I cannot concentrate if a woman is wearing yoga pants
  6. Liberace: when you put it inside your partner on the green
  7. unless we are playing for something I really don't 'address' it. Most of my friends play by the rules as it is anyway. If someone is slowing the group or the course, I will tell them to 'just drop one here." The only time I call someone out is if they brag about how the 'whopped' me and then I will proceed to talk about their 'game'.
  8. I think the 80% is mental. Makes you swing 'softer'. In essence if you go in a trackman and take that "80%" swing I think you will find that you are only 3-5 mph slower than your normal all out swing. That is of course if you do it right. It is easy to manipulate the numbers. I have done this and if I try to swing at an actual 80% I simply cannot do it without really messing up. If you think about the number as a whole it is a HUGE difference. For ease of numbers sake if your driver SS is 100mph do you really think your 80% swing is 80mph??? not even close. It is probably 95-97mph. (no common core math junkies please.... I use real math )
  9. also keep an eye on what everyone else's putts do. A lot of the time I see golfers, high and low, doing anything but watching the guy putting or chipping. What happens a foot or so from the hole should be very telling and will help you a lot with your line. If you are the first to go then you are SOL.... ;)
  10. the birds..... lawn mower in the distance.... a fore in the backgr......ouch
  11. not having to be anywhere right after a bad day on the course is better than a good day in the office ;)
  12. always that one group. I was asked to go get the long drive marker since the last group "didn't know" they had to bring it in. Anyway, I went to get it and the guy whose name was on it cheated. How do I know??? Because my tee shot was past the 200 yd marker and where he stuck it in the ground was 2 yards behind it. I know the guy so I told him nice shot.... he said,"Dude... I was like a foot in front of you. Great drive though." I told him it was odd that he would put the stake where he did and he stopped smiling. "You calling me a cheater?" "No, I said, your face just did." I wasn't going to call him out in front of everyone and I didn't... but he sure made quick work of telling people the story. He 'won' closest to the pin too.
  13. I have 8 herniated discs. Never elected to have surgery.... lumbar and thoracic spine. Every so often I throw my back out and I just need rest. Recently I threw it out badly and needed 2 bilateral transforaminal injections. I was out about 2 weeks from the game. I hate pills. Need to strengthen up my core again which will reduce the stress on my back
  14. I played in the NYS Mid Am qualifier and shot an 89. went to my 9 hole league that night and shot a 35...then went out the very next day and shot 72. fickle she is, this sport.
  15. awesome! always good to get stuff like that in the mail! on a side note: (not trying to detract from your good fortune) I always wanted to be a tester, been a Pro V1x snob since I can remember... then one day a friend and I blacked out 5 balls. He wrote down which balls were what and I proceeded to hit drivers, 6 irons, wedges, and flops with each of them. I got 2 right out of those shots and they were with the full wedges. Moral of my story..... I am not good enough to be a snob about my golf balls. Now I play whatever is given to me through work.
