  1. Why does everyone love the 8 iron??!!! It's what I put down and I guess what a lot of others did too!
  2. Not sure on the 3 wood but the driver sounds pretty good to me. That driver won so many tour events in the late 90's. Good luck with the new clubs!
  3. I played a Pro Platinum while on my college team. Great putters. To be totally honest with you they're not a forgiving as the Studio Select but they are great clubs. They look so good at address. Good luck with the new club!!!!
  4. Go hit different wedges. Different clubs/brands fly different yardages. Go play around with some in the simulator sometime and see what club will give you the distance you are looking for. If you need to add a GW then do it. Especially if you find yourself at the distance that your GW fills often. Good luck!!!!
  5. I currently play a Nike driver and putter. Both are great. With my Nike vs. my Titleist with same shaft I get about 3 more miles per hour ball speed which translates to about 10 more yards in the air. Both are same degree. I am a big fan of Nike stuff. Way underrated if you ask me. I think that they need to dial their wedges in a little bit but otherwise they rock!

Ben, good job in the tournament. Once you get a few of those tournament blow up jitters out of the way you'll be fine. I played the Hooters Tour, Gateway Tour, and Pepsi Tour for about 3 years and I learned that you have to have a few of those blow up rounds in order to have the good ones. Once you calm down and just let things happen it will come a lot easier to you. Good luck and keep rocking!!!! There's golf, then there's tournament golf — it's a completely different world
  7. Clipped the flagstick at Costa Mesa on friday on #16 from 125. Pretty exciting. Missed the 8 footer though....HA!
  8. Played friday and shot 70 (par 72) with 3 bogeys. Perfect conditions.
  9. I'm sorry but they are too good to be true. I've hit set's like this before. The PW will fly 125 and the 9 iron with fly 165. Too inconsistent. Go with proline. You'll pay more but I will be well worth it. Good luck!!!
  10. With different club weights and shafts I'd just go demo some wedges somewhere or hit them in a simulator. If you do simulator make sure that you bring your PW too so that you can get a base for the distance in the simulator. I'd personally just hit until I found the club that I hit the distance that I was looking for. Good luck!!!!
  11. Tape is a great solution to blisters. If you're more comfortable with two gloves though go with that. I think that the tape would be a way more affordable solution.
  12. Curtis, good luck with the irons. I've hit the 755's and they're very solid clubs. Good luck with them!
  13. Sometimes it's just nice to get a new look when you're addressing the ball. I always hit new clubs good! After a few months that wears off though..... HA!
  14. I keep track in my head.
  15. Hahahah! Good point Chris! I guess that for me it just comes down to feel and being more traditional.
  16. True iacas. But if they played the courses that we played everyday they would. Guaranteed.
  17. Right now I'm personally playing a Nike Sasquatch Tour 8.5* with the Version 2 head (the same one that Tiger is playing) with a Pershing Graphite Design 75-X shaft tipped half an inch. I have a pretty high spin rate so this club let's me hit low burners which I like. I hit a Nickent 10.5* with a Diamana White Board 73-X tipped one inch the other day that had the exact same flight with about 5-10 more yards of carry. Just goes to show it's not the number on the club but the shaft that it's attached to....
  18. Kelly, the thing that I consider when moving to a club that is less forgiving (Rac OS 2's to TP Blades ie.) is not how great they look in the bag or hot good you hit the PW or 8 iron. I think that it comes down to how good you hit the 3-6 irons. These are clubs that are crucial during a round. For example. Let's say you're 205 yards out on a long par 4(let's say that's your 3 irons distance) and you miss hit a shot off into the rough or into a bunker or hazard. You've instantly made a bad situation really bad. At best you're going to have to get up and down from 40-60 yards for par. Where those OS 2's or a oversized or cavity back club would have helped your out on that miss hit the blades absolutely will not. I like a cavity because it helps you out on those off days that we all have. Golf is such a hard game, don't make it harder! HA! Good luck with the decision!
  19. I am the owner of a small business. We sell golf clubs that have either been demos or back ups to tour pros or PGA pros. Been in business for about 10 years now. Things are going great!
  20. The Nike forged blades look great in the bag but unless you're hitting 14 greens a round or more with your current clubs I'd personally go with the more forgiving Titleist irons. Both are great club companies. I think that Titleist has things more dialed in for consistently but Nike is more innovative. Good luck with the decision!!!
  21. When I played golf in college one of my teammates played with a long putter for a season. We (the team) were all amazed on how easy it was to make puts inside 10 feet. 6 feet and in were automatic! Although, it's true what they say. What you gain in short puts you lose in long puts. Kind of tricky with puts outside 30 feet. How often do you practice your putting?? I bet if you hit 4 footers with your current putter for an hour straight you'd get pretty good at them. Good luck with the decision!!
  22. Titleist AP2's and Callaway X-Forged are both great. In my opinion the best clubs on the market.
  23. I'd say Titleist Spin Milled or Taylormade with Z Grooves.
