  1. I use the Wilson Staff Di9 irons and cant fault them. I think the Di11 should be at a decent price now especially in the states (UK prices are around the £150 mark). Ebay is generally a good place to look, just make sure to research the seller or stick to the ebay shops.
  2. Camera, its portable, you can download all your swings so you can view them anytime and if your golf goes completely to pot it has a much higher resale value than a mirror...camera is win win
  3. Ive seen a lot of the golf magazines recommend swinging the driver with the headcover on in order to increase your swing speed, a few have even said to try and make it fly off. Is this a bit of a no-no are has it some merit?
  4. After a poor end to last year i have decided to commit to Stack & Tilt. Worked ok at the start of 2014 but tailed off and i lost track. Range session last week dire so the last 4 balls i went back to S&T; and ripped four 5 irons straight and long one after the other. The main thing im working on is the "left shoulder down" part. I may be doing it right but i sometimes struggle to get it right in my head. My understanding is that on takeaway the spine starts to tilt left which in turn pulls the shoulder down...is this correct? I have a feeling there will be a thread somewhere if someone can point me in the right direction or if its a quick answer just put me straight. This site has already helped me understand the S&T; book content more clearly so fingers crossed as this seem to be the main part holding me back and stopping me enjoying playing. ....oh my putting is pretty poor too but that's another story
  5. Does seem that its the cost if a round that causes most issue. I'm lucky in that I have a few local courses that charge £18 for 18 holes, however to play the "member" courses they often charge over £40. I just can't justify that on a round
  6. Nice idea, not sure they would go for it over here in Britain, the government would lose out on too much TAX revenue. We have a habit of looking at the short term!
  7. I agree with Golfingdad, the name just isn't right. Kind of sounds like they should be non conforming mega distance clubs, bit like the Dunlop Rebel we have here in the UK. The irons don't even look that nice to be honest.
  8. Hi All, New to the site and wanted to ask your opinions on the cost of our sport, is the “man in the street” being priced out of the game? With Taylormade etc. releasing a new club seemingly every 6 months promising game changing features and the magazines stating these shiny new toys are “must have” clubs are we under too much pressure by the latest equipment? In my opinion it doesn’t have to be expensive, my current set was put together for around £300 and is all branded (Wilson Staff, Ping, Yes!) and all fairly new and I get around the course ok with them and most importantly have fun. Where do you all stand on cost, new vs used etc. Thanks for reading my post Russ
  9. Has to be my Yes! Stephanie belly putter. Doesnt make me put any better but its a great "conversation" starter
  10. I currently use Di9 irons and they are really good fir the high handicapper. I must admit for a brand that once dominated the majors (for irons anyway) they seem ti have gone down hill of late. Its a shame they cant keep up with the bigger brands such asTaylormade, Ping etc. but to do that on tour you need the players and to get the players you need a product that will get them interested. Vicious circle!
  11. I work for Johnson & Johnson Medical in the UK looking after surgical training kits. Long hours but worth it, just means no cheap weekday golf
