  1. I think her ability to handle the clubs makes her seem more appealing. But she definitely is pretty hot.
  2. Hey thanks Fahoo I will keep my eye open. I have asked at a couple of courses I play at and they don't know much about the local golf events. Guess I will keep searching. What section of the newspaper is a good place to look? Classifieds or in the sports section??
  3. I live in Virginia Beach and would like to start playing in matchplay or bestball scramble events. I was wondering if there is a good place to search like a database of events. I know for tennis we had the USTA website which would allow you to search your area and had a list of events. Please Give a couple of suggestions...Thanks.
  4. YEah I was about to say the same thing! If you shot in the lower 80's and your a beginner then I don't think you have any problems. I would say take a couple of lessons focusing on putting.
  5. Ohh ok my bad... I would still do it. Anyway you can grove your swing and not pay for it sounds like a winning combination.
  6. That would be pretty sweet! I would say do it, and just put up your own yardage markers. Get one of those little podometers and attach it to your foot walk out 600steps and thats 200yds and so on. I would go for it!
  7. I am definitely not a ball snob...although I fear in the future once I have a job I might become one. Being a student $$$ is at a premium. Every year in August at the end of the golfing season my friends and I go to a local course and go swimming in some ponds and go home with like 200 golf balls each. I don't use one's that are super old but those will last for a whole new golf season.
  8. if you shoot in the 80's that's like playing 5 complete rounds of golf then heading out to play another nine holes. I wouldn't worry about it. I bet you had a lot of adrenaline helping you on the range cause you had new clubs.
  9. AHAHAHa
  10. Pro V2 would be my vote...its logical and keeps the same brand name feel.
  11. The good news is you can only do better the next time out...right?
  12. I've noticed its hard to find customer friendly management at golf courses. If I had the money to buy a course and taylor it to 20-40yr olds I'd be rich. Seems like young people get the shaft when it comes to customer service.
  13. Someone want to explain what Paul Casey did? Seems like it was pretty bad whatever he said/did?
  14. Yeah go for it. ITs a lot of fun and totally worth it. No point playing at a Div 1 school if you don't enjoy it so go where you'll have the best experience!
  15. I would look up some schools and email the coaching staff. Ask them what they look for in recruits. What type of numbers or rankings you'd need to start or just to make the team. If you really just want to play golf and don't care so much about the name of the school I'd check into some Div. 2 and Div. 3 schools. I played tennis at a Div. 1 school and it was really overrated. I transferred to a Div. 3 school and am loving it. First of all I own like all the school records for wins, get to play all the time and its a lot of fun. Div.1 tends to look down on fun and takes it way to seriously. Just my 2 cents.
  16. yeah I'd love to see them hit out of pinecones and pine needles instead of the fringe stuff they get. What was that course called where they played the british open that had those massive hole bunkers. Like 6ft deep and stuff???
  17. The village is a nice place down around 14th mile post, Its got to be one of the nicest courses in the area. There are also a couple courses that are located right outside of the outerbanks, like before you cross the sound into Kitty Hawk. They might be a little cheaper since they're not physically located on the outer banks. Can't remember their names, its like Goose Creek, and Fox Run.
  18. I think its a great idea. Most sports are having to adress the issue of extreme technological advances. Tennis has begun using computer tracking to help line judges make more accurate line calls. I like seeing some new challenges thrown at these exceptional players.
  19. Can anyone post a link to a rules website? or tutorial?? Help us out for people who are learning.
  20. Isn't a launch angle of 13.5 degrees higher then 12.8? Yet you said the new angle was higher then your used to? I'm confused, please explain.
  21. HAHAHA I'm noticing a pattern of golf jokes killing their wives.
  22. I was the same, I thought it dealt with the slope of the greens and course...haha Those two articles about how to get your handicap and what slope means taught me so much about the difference between two courses who have the same par. Thanks again to The Sand Trap.
  23. Ok thanks...Didn't know about the star reputation button. But you definitely have a great looking forum!
  24. Yeah iacacs, I agree there not the same physically so I guess when I hear arguments that women should be allowed in because there should be sexual equality I think that is not true in sports like you said. I do agree that she should earn her way and shouldn't be given special treatment. What about the guys who work their whole life to get in but didn't cause their spot was given to Wie for an exemption? Pretty much if she earns her way in by beating all the men ok fine.
  25. Wow I didn't know that. I just know I've heard stories that guys have played on women's volleyball teams and they said it wasn't fair. If circumstances present themselves then it openess should go both ways.
