  1. Welcome from Doylestown (near Phila).
  2. Thanks bananas. You're doing some serious work. Do you make / write notes after a lesson? I appreciate all of the feedback. I think I'll do one lesson every two weeks and see how it goes.
  3. You and I are not on TV being watched by thousands of golfers who are influenced by what type of club Mickelson is using. I can't help but believe that golf equipment consumers are influenced by what they see on TV. There are a lot of golfers out there that are not as sophisticated as the members of this forum. Of course, they don't buy Callaway because Milkelson is sponsered by Callaway but it does have an influence. It's about ethics in advertising. When I see a Callaway umbrella or Callaway towel, I think umbrella and towel. When I see hearcover I think golf club unless the headcover carries the brand of a company in the business of manufacturing and marketing headcovers. I guess I'm bothered about a PGA Tour celebrity being paid to use a Ping headcover on some other brand club.
  4. See this thread: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/threads...ghlight=Method Do a search and you may find more. Otherwise, it's an interesting putter.
  5. My emotional security is not the subject of this thread. OK, I'm insecure (lol in the face of truth) but I'm also talking about false advertising or the use of wrong headcovers. Sorry for getting silly but the misuse of headcovers should be subject to federal regulation...at least under the Sherman Anti Trust Act.
  6. If Tiger Woods has a Nike Headcover on a Titleist, I think that's wrong.
  7. I've changed my opinion since this thread started. I don't care about a pro's opinion on cars, banks, etc. but I am interested in their equipment or equipment opinion. Mickelson is being paid by Callaway to send a message and he talks about Callaway in his "whats in the bag" video. I find it hard to believe that top PGA Tour pros are using the wrong head covers.
  8. My handicap is shown below. I restarted playing in August of 2008. Last summer I took one lesson every 8 weeks and that was way too long between sessions for me. I have a budget of two lessons per month. Assuming I play one 18 hole round and one trip to the driving range per week, should I take a lesson every week or two weeks or .....? Stated differently, how many trips to the driving range should I do between lessons?
  9. Original cost on my set is $1,300 excluding the driver which was given to me used. Less GG gift certificates I received over the past 18 months, cost to me was about $1,000.
  10. At the very least, when a tour player endorces a brand isn't he saying this is a good company to do business with or I like their approach to club design / technology?
  11. It's advertised in the March issue of Golf Magazine. The ad says go to: www.taylormadegolf.com/ProjectBurner to register.
  12. Not when it comes to golf and making beer: Guiness and Harp are the best. I also prefer Irish whiskey over scotch and I'm Pennsylvania Dutch.
  13. I agree with lcfd. If you have the same problem again, see a pro. When I had problems with my 5 wood Diablo last year, it never occurred to me that it was the equipment.
  14. Alcohol prep & Rust-0leum paint. May need some steel wool for clean up.
  15. Same thing happened to me last year when I got a new 5w. Three days later I went back to the range and everything was fine. It's probably you not the club.
  16. IIRC the major brands were Wilson Pro Staff, Ping and Titleist.
  17. Tiger comments on current events By Tiger Woods I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone. Source: http://web.tigerwoods.com/news/artic...27740572/news/ I fail to see the connection of his private life with the Tour and other statements in this thread that do not relate to the OP's topic. I don't understand why people, without personal knowledge of Tiger Woods' family life, are so judgemental.
  18. Most psychologists would agree with that. Based on many articles I've read and studied, many people in that category subconsciously want to get caught and as a result will deliberately leave evidence. Getting back to the original topic, I guess Tiger will pick a venue and time that will be the most comfortable for him. The sooner his audience can seperate his personal life from his golf game the better. Hopefully it will be before the Masters. It would be interesting to know what his publicity people are telling him.
  19. I enjoyed the initial gossip but beyond that, Tiger Wood's personal / family life is none of my business. Tiger Woods is on the verge of making golf history and he will aggressively pursue that goal. There would be a great public outcry against any golf organization attempting to interfere with his return to the tour. The sooner he comes back, the better.
  20. I like the break from golf caused by winter in Pennsylvania but only up to New Year's day. Yes, I feel the pain. I'd be happy just to hit the driving range.
  21. I'm under the impression that tour players use customized clubs that are or can be modified at any time and to that extent it does not matter to me what brand they use. Most golfers buy stock clubs.
  22. It seems like she was shutting down the topic as opposed to being conversational. If she was more relaxed she could have said "Oh, it was so bad ... I blocked it from my memory...etc. I think she was wrongly prepared for that. In any event, I'm glad she's won last year and I'm looking forward to watching her play.
  23. To me it seems she was coaxed into the "I don't remember." She comes off better in this CNN video from Jan 19, 2010 or maybe it was edited. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/01...PGA.2010.golf/
  24. My 1986 Burton Bag with Wilson Pro Staff Blades, McGregor Persimmon Woods & McGinty 7 Wood.
  25. Good point. I made the same mistake. The correct term, body builder(s), are considered to lose flexability.
