  1. whoooa, i always wondered how that worked...so you just click on that little star if you like a post?? interesting....
  2. ACTUALLY, i got a 1430 (730V, 700M), we wont talk about that retard essay part. anyways, i dont go to tech yet, i'm still in high school, i just love the hokies. both my parents went there and my sister does right now....and being as this thread is off topic....how bout we just rename it erik??? cuz we could have a really interesting hokies v. cavs arguement here
  3. does no one else think they themselves overestimate??? i know i do, but since i drive farther than everyone i play against its all ok, cuz we all get to lie and be happy but, if i am playing a nice course and a prov1, i think i am pretty darn good from inside 75 yards with my trusty cg10.
  4. tiger is still human remember....he could always lip out a putt or hit an errant drive (unthinkable i know)
  5. i picked the perfect day to work at the pro shop...i get there at 7, right when the broadcast comes on (if its like the past two days) and then i can flip over to OLN and check up on the Tour as well. should be a great day....and i get paid!!! i love that job
  6. i need to find me a godfather....
  7. I've got one little question for you erik....what does asinine mean? and i have noticed you have a very uhhh, big, for lack of a better word, vocabulary. I bet you did good on the SATs, unlike me.
  8. i probably overestimate how far i hit just cuz there are so many variables in golf and how far a ball should go. like at my home course, based on where my ball usually is and course yardages my drives go as follows: 1. 285 yds (major downhill) 2. 225 yds (back up the big hill) 5. 260 yds (pretty flat) 7. 245 yds (pretty flat) 8. 290 yds (downhill) 9. 230 yds (major uphill) and i would say that my average drive is like 275 yards...go figure
  9. how bout my local driving range? cuz we dont have any golf stores anywhere close...the one we had just went out of business.
  10. the thing u have to think about is that pro courses are "pro courses" one week of the year. So what all can you change about a golf course to make it extra hard for pros? speed and firmness of the green, length of rough, and if you are like hootie johnson, length of the course. they do play much harder than the course normally would, but my bet is that guy just had a pretty good ball striking day, on a course that is a bit short shorter than he usually plays.
  11. shot a 75 today...its not really as good as it sounds since my courses rating is like 64.4/109 from the blues and less than 6000 yards. oh well. i hadnt played just by myself and for fun recently. my putting is starting to come along and just in time for high school golf.
  12. well i talk to my club pro/superentindent dude today and he could get me anything titliest for the manufacturing price plus 10%...which he said was like $400-$450 for the $800-900 clubs. which is awesome!! i think i might get some vokey wedges to go along with them as well. but he told i should go somewhere like dicks to get fitted and then bring the specifications to him and he'd get them for me. now i just gotta go somewhere that has all these titleist irons (and lefthanded) and i'll be set.
  13. so i went to the titleist website and i think i got the number/letter thing done. I would perfer the 695MB's, since i like the look of the blade, thin topline and thin sole. But since i think my handicap is prob more liek an 8 or a 9 i dont want to get them and not be able to hit them well. (since the website says 0-5 handicappers) and DDBowdoin, can you tell me where the 735CM goes from cavity backed to muscle, like which iron?
  14. thanks for all the advice you guys... so i was talking to this other guy that works up at the golf course and said that our superintendent/pro/manager (he does everything) gets really good deals from titliest and that he could get some for more me, and i think he can fit me too. so i think i'm going to do that, eventually. now i just gotta figure out which titliest irons to get. My one problem with them is the names. its just a bunch of numbers which is really hard to remember, at least for me.
  15. i've noticed i do the same thing. Like I HATE teams that dominate their sports (think Patriots, Lakers a few years back) yet in golf my favorite player is Tiger Woods and i want him to win everytime...except the US Open cuz i picked him to miss the cut. but i agree with rmgators.
  16. I am looking to buy a new set of irons and want to get some nice ones since my game is doing pretty well, and i was wondering if you guys have any input as to which irons are the best. Or if they really dont help that much and i should stick with my wilsons (my inner scrooge speaking) The reason i bring this up is i have been thinking about it for awhile now and i was playing with this kid this morning and he had titleist irons (they were shiny and blades, i'm not really sure the name) and were the prettiest things. like i caught myself just staring at them cuz of how nice they looked. so i want something like that now and want to know the best ones.
  17. erik i'll start listening to the podcasts if you really want.
  18. played in a 4 man scramble this evening...and let me tell you, it was hot and i know what heat exhaustion is now. I played 18 holes this morning (walking) then played this 9. anyways we shot 4 under with some crazy tees (the guy placed them way off the tee boxes, which was pretty cool) and won $25 and i won BOTH closest to the pins and got a dozen NXT Tours. Not a bad haul for $5.
  19. shot a rather dissappointing 82 (41/41)...i did feel kinda good because i doubled 2 and 3 and still ended up with a 41. but it was just one of those days....and extremely hot. It was a tourney and i think i ended up getting 5th or something like that.
  20. your like the same as me...except i'm 17...but everything besides 3, 7, and 8 applies to me as well. Where do you live?
  21. i've never given a hybrid that much thought, cuz i never really face any shots between 250 and 200. which i find really weird, but if you think about it, you might need one on a long par 3, but unless i mess up or am playing a 500 yard par 4 i wont need on on a par 4, and if u play the par 5s wisely i dont need one (cuz usually i cant even get there in two with a 3 wood anyways). but i can see where higher handicappers would want one cuz i dont like my 5 wood or 3 iron either.
  22. what channel is it on?
  23. the little muncipal course i play at (and now work at) is really cheap. $250 for a weekday membership and $350 for everyday. You still have to pay the $6 per 9 hole cart fee, but its still really cheap. Luckily for me, everything is free. And we have other private and public places and i dont think any are more than $40. Like if you go with a member to the country club its only $32 i think.
  24. whats heat exhaustion??? the technical term for being tired?? maybe i've just been lucky but i've played sports my whole life and never have had "heat exhaustion" girls....
