  1. I got a Walrus named Walt on my 3 wood. Its the best club in my bag kind of like my Billy Baroo
  2. People shell out 300 bucks on a driver they use maybe 10 times a round but complain about a 300 dollar putter that on a great day they use 28 times. Just saying
  3. I have a buddy who I normally play with and he is prob about a 30+ capper so we always play whites and then have another buddy who is around a 2 and always plays the blues. I kind of just go with the flow. I would much rather play from the whites and try and go low but dont mind the challenge of the tips. I think if people would just be realistic with themselves and not try to be the macho guy rounds would go by much quicker.
  4. I would have been DQ'd I dont carry that many balls haha As for me reaching par 5s under reg and then walking off with par or bogeys are pretty brutal
  5. Generally there is one or two three putts but every green seems to be a two putt. Whether that be from 25 feet or 10 feet. I guess a better way to put it would be I cant one putt unless I absolutely stick it.
  6. Ok fair enough, what I should have said is anything from 5 feet and in. Which I feel very comfortable that I will make
  7. Hey guys So the last two rounds I have played I shot 81, 80 respectively on a pretty difficult course. But the problem is the first round I had 37 putts and then next time I had 38 putts. Shooting 80 with 38 putts to me is both strange and frustrating, mostly frustrating though. I am a good lag putter and pretty feel fine about my putting in general. Its those damn 10-15 footers that that kill me. If I hit it to 25-30 feet I roll the ball to 5 feet and two putt no problem. But its those putts where I feel like I should be able to make at least half that I just miss. Some are real benders that I will just kind of baby down there and take my medicine but there are others that are up hill green light and still I will burn the edge. Is there any drills you guys do besides just going out to the putting green and hitting a bunch of 10-15 footers? Think I just might be a head case, any one else have this problem?
  8. I grew up with sports. Mainly baseball but I have played most sports(not lax, could not get into that) growing up. Golf was usually my last choice. I love the crowd, I love making a play and hearing a cheer. When I hurt my shoulder golf was the natural choice to make as I can still swing without pain. I think the older people get the more they enjoy golf(older as in not playing highschool or college sports) I have had buddies who went to play a course with me and never played again bc golf does have a very high learning curve and really isnt fun when you shoot 150. I found that if people are wanting to get into golf going to the range is the best way. I have brought different girlfriends to the range and just let them hack away at the ball. Usually they hate it at first but then they slowly start hitting the ball further and further. Then mixed in with a little swing advice they start to get hooked. People need to be slowly introduced into golf. Not to many people will pick up clubs go to the course and have a great time, sure there are those that are naturally gifted and will just want to get better and better but they are in the minority. So maybe go to the range or find a pitch and putt. Do not do mini golf that does nothing for the interest of golf. just my .02 cents
  9. I understand the cart issue, never really thought about, mostly bc I usually walk. I dont smoke cigarettes and enjoy the cigar. The cigars usually only come out when I am in a scramble with friends. But seems like people are kind of against it. I agree that spit bottles are pretty brutal and one of the reasons I switched to the spitless tobacco.
  10. Hey guys Yesterday I was watching the crowne invitational and saw Dufner throw in a huge lip after he hit a wedge to like 5 feet. The lip was a solid fourth of the tin. Now I was just wondering does anyone use tobacco products on the course? I use to dip a lot when I played baseball but have since tried to cut down. When I am on the course though I do snus which is spitless tobacco. Seems like it would be a dick move to do scoal or grizzly and be spitting on the course. I played with an older gentlemen one time and he seemed almost offended that I was dipping on a golf course. Mean while he was slugging down beers like they were going out of style. So is it really that bad to use tobacco products on a golf course?
  11. Don't forget about big JD, hes sitting at 2 under right now. I know most of this board hates him but I still got to root for him.
  12. I can say my favorite shot is def coming off a bad hole and the juices are kinda flowing, then stepping up to the tee and just mashing a power fade dead down the middle. Calms me right down
  13. My putter is so hot and cold its not really even funny. I have rounds where I have 28 putts and other rounds where I have 38 putts. I would say my average is 32-34. Need to work on that and better approach shots
  14. I dont know why but I want Na to win. I feel like his emotions are every where and does crazy stuff which is really hard to watch but I am somehow drawn to watch and root for him. Make imagine that pressure playing in that tournament. Most people get anxious playing with their buddies when something is on the line. He just seems like the under dog to the fullest degree.
  15. I would just get a 3h but thats me. You will be able to choke down and not hit it as far. But that way you can keep the 4 iron in the bag and work on your ball striking. the hybrids are much easier to hit and you could prob get both for competitive rounds but keep the 4 iron for the range. You know once your striking your 4 iron well then your swing will be nice and consistent. I started with just a 3 hybrid myself and after a while was able to get a 3 iron and go with a 2 hybrid.
