  1. I think, like anything else, you pay for what you get. So in general more $$$=better product. At the same time, a putter, no matter what it costs, will not make the putts for you. It's up to you to do that. So if you are able to do that with a $5 putter than I wouldn't worry about what you can do with a $5000 putter. For me, the consistency and feel I get out my Cameron that I got in 2000 for $175 brand new will keep me satisfied for the rest of my golfing "career."
  2. I think thats a fair assessment.
  3. Well playability-wise bounce does make a big difference. If you are a 'sweeper' or 'picker' of the ball and dont take big divots, then you'll want to go with the 60.04 with 4 degrees of bounce. This is what I use and despite its low bounce it works well out of bunkers for me. If you are more of a digger you'll want something with more bounce. The vokey website should do a good job explaining all of the options. As far as finish goes, I'm not sure about how much love you have to give the oil can but i do know that its designed to wear over time naturally. If you prefer to have your clubs looking as new as they can for as long as they can, you may want to go with the tour chrome or black nickel.
  4. Great putter! I bought mine through my pro shop when I worked at a golf course for $175 brand new. That was in 2000. I will never buy another putter.
  5. I would also consider getting rid of that 64 degree wedge (even if you dont have something to replace it with). At your skill level its going to cause more problems than its worth. good luck
  6. So I have always had an outside to in swing path where I take the club outside to some degree and drop it inside. Recently, I've been working on getting the club on plane during the back swing so that I don't have to make any weird adjustments at the top of the swing. I feel comfortable with my backswing but now I have a tendency to drop the club too far inside. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on how to work on getting club on the correct plane during the downswing. I always play a draw and often times fight a push or a hook, which corresponds to the swing path I described above. Thanks!
  7. Hey, I know this thread has been down for awhile but my advice would be to get a job at a golf course. When I was 16 I worked in the golf department at Dick's Sporting goods and all of the money I made went to playing golf. The next year I just got a job at a golf course and no longer had to spend any money on playing golf or range balls, and i got a great discount in the pro shop. Anyways, my advice to any teenager looking to play lots of golf is to work at a course.
  8. yeah DLIII has always been a favorite player of mine. great to see him get that lifetime exemption.
  9. Just to follow-up, if you add a degree of loft you also add a degree of bounce and of course if you takeaway a degree of loft you takeaway a degree of bounce.
  10. I dont remember exact prices but minor adjustments like that shouldn't cost too much. However, with your wedges you want to look at how changing the loft will affect the bounce of the club before making the adjustments.
  11. I believe winning gives him an automatic 2 year exemption or maybe its 1 year but yeah 2009 is set for tommy if he wins today.
  12. I would recommend picking up a Momentus swing trainer. I have started using it again recently and it really is a great swing aid. I also have a david leadbetter swingsetter that I haven't used recently but have had some success with. My one complaint about the swingsetter is that it seems to encourage a quick swing tempo. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the momentus.
