  1. I would have to agree here. Had this issue just after check in Sunday and the round just never got started right. Didn't feel right hitting the ball to start and threw the rest of the round off. I drink so much coffee normally, if I don't have a cup on the way to the course, I play like crap.
  2. Living in Arizona, and having light blue eyes, I have to use sunglasses. If I take them off even just to set up and then hit the ball, it is almost instant headache. I always hit with sunglasses on. It gets frustrating because I always make better contact without them.
  3. I went driver because a I hit it well and a good drive always starts a hole off on the right foot.
  4. Black Oakley Half Jackets with polarized lenses. I have been wearing these for about 2 years now and love them. Fit very comfortable on the head.
  5. Couple buddies of mine dragged me out when we were in the military and I have been hooked ever since. Played a lot till I got and then took a 3 month vacation. Played atleast 2 to 3 times a week. Was getting pretty good, then had to get a job and slowed down to once a month or two, and have started back up again. Try to go atleast once every week or two. My daughter has started with lessons now as well. Can't get the wife into it though. My best friend that took me out the first time still flies out to Arizona to go golfing every now and then. My wife thanks him everytime I spend more money on golf stuff. LOL.
  6. Pay off some of my parents debt and the in-laws as well. Modest house 2 Modest cars(already have my jeep, would just add a little more to it) A cabin for vacation And put the rest away and let it fund my golf addiction.
  7. Great to hear your son is going to join the team. I have started my daughter on lessons as well. We have attempted to play a round of nine (ran out of time) but only got 5 holes done. We both had a blast and can't wait to get out again. I just can't wait till she can play a full par 72. Then I have an excuse to golf anytime. Wife really dosn't care for golf at all but likes the fact that my daughter is learning.
  8. I am no where close to a big hitter. The farthest I can poke a drive is maybe 260-270. I am usually around the 230-250 range. My irons are not very long either. I can hit an 8I about 140 to 150. Beyond that my irons tend to go haywire. I will usually try to play smart and not hit a lower iron a ton to get close to the green when a 8I or 7I will get me inside 100yards. Rather play smart and get a better score than hitting from the sticks.
  9. While I don't follow every rule in golf to the letter, I do try to keep it honest. I have played with a lot of people that will hit the exact same shots as me and some how always be one shot lower. I played with a guy that did this, and I started counting his shots. He wasn't counting the original tee shot. Just look back and start counting from his second shot. I just laughed and walked on. The one thing I have absolutly no problem with is people using the foot wedge out of the rocks. Being in the desert it happens a lot and no sense in ruining your clubs when your trying to learn. I used to be one of those sortagolfer guys but as I have been getting better I play honestly now because I want to know what my real score is. (it gets kind of sad though). I have never tracked my scores, just toss the cards in the bag when I'm done and throw them away when I clean it out. I will have to start keeping them and find out what my handicap is.
