Yes I have....for free.haha It was a a mixture of incredible views...crazy blind tee shots and some of the most unforgiving awefull greens I have ever played on. I will play it again when I go back up after it re-opens, i hope they have worked on the greens a little. Everyone rolls off, there were a million little divots near them as people had rolled off and chipped back on.

20+ handicappers hitting 300 yards (mild rant)
Pablo McGheesio replied to extremeld's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I hit a fairly long ball. Always have done. To claim an avergae is 300 yards is quite something. I would say my average is below 300. Yet I can smash some way past that mark...but average takes into account all your shots. Not just the ones you remember. -
Ali.... I am 21, i will admit I am a boxing fan. I have seen hours of Ali footage. Yet i love football and know for a fact there is hardly any Pele film around....how can people say he is the greatest when no one seen him play much....I think Maradona is a larger name in football.

proper golf club fitting
Pablo McGheesio replied to flopdarock's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have just recieved my custom Mizuno Irons. I went to the mizuno centre over here. I hit some balls with my own irons, we looked over the stats. I then tried a variety of clubs and shaf set-up untill we decided I was hitting the correct club. Then we went through grips etc... Mizuno are excellent in my opinion, I would go no where else. -
Football (soccer to the colonials) has a high skill level. I have several friends who played in the reserves for second division teams. Compared to me (who played the sport since i was 8) they seemed like Pele. Yet they could not even make the grade for crap little teams. It highlights the skill required for the true top level. Please watch a youtube vid of Lional Messi. Skill? yes! Other than that I believe boxing to be the only other contender. One mistake and you eat a punch that will more than likely knock you out.......Also their skills levels are so high in what they do..

What about the old guys? I played a few medals with a guy who was in his early 60s. He was a player, he played off single figuers for about 35 years. When I played with him he was off 14. But my god he was still a player, he had no distance at all, maybe 200 tops off the tee. Round the greens he was like Seve, there was nothing he could not do. He had surgeons hands, several times I was left with my mouth open watching this old guy sink puts and knock anything from 100yards dead on the flag........... He was a player, old B*****d wons £5 off me in the skins game we were having.....

Hello from the "home of golf,"
Pablo McGheesio replied to Pablo McGheesio's topic in Welcome, Everyone
I would really advise playing the New course if you were making a trip as well. From a technical standpoint it is the better of the two courses. The jubilee is not a as good but far from a bad course. Obviously the Old stirs up emotion, standing on the first tee is magical....there is always a little crowd on sunny day. I am very proud to be from the home of golf, for a small country we have some great courses.....its definatly worth a pilgramege to golfs Mecca. -
Well its only a bit of weed........not really a big deal. Do you really care, do you think all the little kiddies in the world will start speedballing in the morning.... Nah....if anything he deserves a puff...I mean the strees he was under to get all 8 must have been hard going... Let him relax he did you all proud at a poor olympics for you..

Hi all, The names Paul and I do believe I am the luckiest golfer in the world haha.... I am from sunny Glasgow. My parents own a house in St Andrews, now out of pure chance my bills and driving license say I stay there. This allows me to claim resident status and pay a measly £130 per year to play every course in the Links trust for nothing. Honestly It was just chance hahaha. I try and go up several times over the holiday period every year, its honeslty the greatest thing ever being able to play the Old course for free. I once played it twice in one week with a game on the New course in between. It is a joy to walk the links, no matter what anyone tells me the Old is the greatest experience a golfer can have. I am also a member of a private club called The East Kilbride Golf club, its a good course. Nice condition but can be very windy. I am starting to love golf again after a couple of years away.

I dont think I have ever been in a cart in Scotland. I know we have them in some courses. In my opinion they are a waste of time, unless your not fit enough or its 10000000 degrees then you should walk.. Golf is no more a sport than dart without a little athletism in the walking haha. But really its more fun to walk....

Your Best Shot Ever (not counting Hole in Ones on Par 3's)
Pablo McGheesio replied to PiKapp23's topic in Golf Talk
Playing my local. Par 5 7th longest hole on the course. Wind assisted drive then 4 iron to 12 feet. Missed the put of course. -

I dont understand this culture of tipping....I live in Scotland, I only tip if someone does something beyond the normal duties of their job...for example in a Pub last week the Barman let me order drinks from the telephone when I was walknig round with guests...I gave him a tip, cause thats not in his normal job. Why should I ever tip someone for doing their Job, i mean no offense but I dont tip my doctor and his job is FAR more imprortant and underpaid than some guy who moves my bag 6 ft. They get paid to do a job, then they expect to be paid more for doing it...strange... When I was on holiday in the US was offended to have 15% added to my bill for a tip...that is so rude to assume I wanted to tip. The service was not worthy of the standard bill let alone 15% on top..... -
Just before Christmas I went to the "world of golf," where mizuno have a custom fitting centre. I went in expecting MP25s. After an hour of testing I found the MX200s to be far better for me. I was getting 165-170 with the 6 iron. Which I was suprised about, turns the launch angle was far too high on my Ping I3 blades. The final set up was Mx200s 1/2 inch longer Project x 6.0 shafts. Grip was 3 wrap, normal lie angle....I got 51 and 56 degree forged wedges with the same set up... While I was playing at my local pro shop I managed to get a free Ping bag thrown in that matches my G10 headcover.

steps vs stepless shafts?
Pablo McGheesio replied to dmband8985's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I am not an expert, all I can give you is my experience. Last week I got my custom fitted MX200s. The custom centre fitted me with Project x 6.0. I can tell you they are great. My spin rate was fat too high with my Ping i3 blades, they had regular flex shafts. My ball still rises quickly but seems to penetrate far more. I am afraid thats all I can give you. -
I have had a go on one, we have a "golf cafe," in Glasgow. It seems to be like 10 pin bowling....but golf. Just another great excuse to drink beer.

I think I WAS a player.....when I was 16 I played off 8. I was improving pretty well, then life got in the way. I mean Sunday morining Junior medals are a bad idea for a kid who just got into girls and partys. haha... I lost my passion and never really played untill last year again. Got my handicap under 10 this year again, but I dont consider myself a player yet. I dont have the touch around the greens I once had....I hit the ball miles further but lack something, I dont know where to look to find it. I assume I need to play more, once a week at best is just not enough to stay single figures. Sometimes I only get one round in a month.

Hi all, The names Paul. I am only 21 so at the moment I have just finished Uni, did Business Law. I am currently in Sales for an IT technical training company called New Horizons. Sales seems to come easy to me, I dont intend to do this for a living, it is an easy way to get money.
