  1. Yeah, that wedge is nice, but I can't beleive nobody but me has ordered the Dr. Feelgood putter! Looks like you can play 18 holes with this puppy and then go home and build a new deck! Dr. Feel Good™ Zero° Latitude Putter This putter will save everyone 10 shots per round. This makes too much sense. The Dr. Feel Good™ putter actually aligns itself into the ball every time giving you the most accurate putter ever. "4-Foot Putts Are Now Automatic Gimmies" After trying the Dr. Feel Good™ putter, you will never use a traditional putter again! This putter is dead on line, weighted properly to give the putting feel. It maxes out the putting plane and gets you in line with putting line every time. Dr. Feel Good™ putter is the first putter designed to work on the X-axis, which is the putting plane. It's designed to create the perfect plumb-bob motion and actually plumb bobs its own line. From PGA recognized best putter ever, Al Geiberger "Mr. 59" - "This is the first putter I've seen that is really designed to work on the putting plane. It makes alot of sense. There isn't a golfer out there that won't lower his score with the Dr. Feel Good™ putter."
  2. At the link quoted above, the labels cost $9.95. At this link, https://www.pinhighinc.com/pinhighin...els/design.asp the same labels cost $2.50. Same site, same labels, different price. Dealers choice.
  3. I used my Daughters iPhone once during a power outage to see if the schools had a snow delay. It actually was quite useful for that! My cell phone is also a Walkman, I don't want to brag but I have 31 songs loaded onto it! Edit: Although I have 31 total songs, Crocodile Rock is in there twice....
  4. My labels arrived yesterday. Just as advertised! Now I need a spare 5 minutes to stick 'em on!
  5. Here's a quick primer on gripping your clubs. Just take your time, it's easy as pie. When I use this method, I use mineral spirits instead of grip solvent. It's cheaper and set up quicker. Edit: OOPS, looks like the author doesn't want the video embedded, here's the direct link pGE0LsJupdc Edit Again: The links not working, sorry..
  6. I have the Medalist as well. This is the first "full" season I've used it. I find it to be fantastic. The Pinseeker works great for flags with hills and trees behind them. I haven't seen a flag yet that I couldn't measure. I also like to shoot the group ahead to see if they're out of range or not on Par 5's, and to measure any of their large drives. I like the magnification feature to see if any of my buddies have marked the par 3 greens for CP competitions. Plus, you can check out cart babes! I also use it at the range, before even pulling a club I check the distances of the flags and signs. I think you'll find the battery life phenomenal. If it's anything like my old Bushnell 450, the 9 volt battery should last for a long, long time. Welcome to the club!
  7. Match play is played one shot at a time. Never give up on any hole as you never know what your opponent will screw up next. Holes can change on a dime. Always expect every shot he hits to be great, this way you won't be disappointed with the one or two that is. Rule violations should not even be in your head, just play by them as you usually do and you'll be fine. If he tries to talk smack on junk, ignore him. Forget the banter, other saying "pick it up" I wouldn't talk to him at all. I also wouldn't be saying "pick it up" too often. Be focused on your NEXT shot. Personally, I would play the new sticks, especially if your hitting them well at the range. New clubs tend to make me focus more on the shot. Good luck!
  8. That's the golf gods sucking you back in! Look, slumps happen. My handicap has been going north this entire season, yet I feel like I'm playing better than ever. For me, it's that one (or sometimes two) bad holes I just can't seem to keep off the card. I think the best advice I ever received when I started was to NOT try for the miracle recovery shot. Get the ball back in play the safest route. That advice is hard to actually follow when you THINK you can pull off the low hooking slice under the limb then over the next tree to roll safely between the bunkers onto the green and then breaking near the hole. Trust me, you can't. Take it one shot at a time. This slump shall pass. (remember that gap wedge you stuck?)
  9. ::begin rant:: I can't believe the varied responses to this thread. Breakfast Ball? WTF? Unless it's a scramble event of some type, I can't imagine picking up, re-teeing, mulligans, do-overs, gimmees, or any other of the nonsense that is getting bantered about. If the course has no practice putting green do you get a breakfast putt? No practice sand bunker? No problem, reload and call it a brunch ball. It sounds like a slippery slope to me. In regards to keeping an honest score, Bobby Jones is quoted as saying: "You might as well praise a man for not robbing a bank". I think you folks who write down questionable scores would get a lot more satisfaction crossing the scoring barriers while counting all your shots. Because in this game, you're supposed to play your foul balls. Either that, or just don't bother keeping score. For the record, if you are keeping score, you're now hitting 3. ::end rant::
  10. My Sister just got back from Singapore. She played twice, the first thing she noticed was that in 36 holes, she didn't see a single tee laying around, broken or not. After about the third hole, she started looking hard. I think you get caned if you leave any foreign object on the ground. I find lots of tees, especially walking the course. The fronts of the teeboxes are goldmines!
  11. I hit the forward tee marker once and lost the ball......
  12. Put me on the other side of the fence. I think know a good 3 wheel push cart is far easier to maneuver than a carry bag. You are dealing with no weight whatsoever. The bag is always held at the perfect club dispensing angle and height. You have a place for your drink/scorecard/pencil/balls/tees etc, as handy as can be. They'll go anywhere on the course but the greens, so not only do you have all your clubs, you have the (optional) seat with you as well, anywhere. And for playing in the rain....the umbrella holder is unbelievably convenient. It is not even a close competition in the rain. Now, if you're talking about the two wheeled carts that you drag behind you, then, I agree, it's better to carry than use of of those contraptions.
  13. I assure you from now on, that's what it will forever be known as. It's funny, in the 8 years we've played this little game, the issue has never come up. In my league, it's pre marked first putt only, I never thought ever that anyone else would think differently. That's a good point. Keep in mind my putt was certainly beatable so I wasn't surprised when it got beat. When I found out HOW it was beat, now that surprised me. What if he shanked one OB on a Par 3, rehit, then stuck the next shot to 6 inches, should he win the closest to the pin? No one knew (except his group) what had happened until he had gone home. This is a skins game, and he's the type who will pick up his ball if he's putting for bogey or worse. If he's out of the hole, he quits. Me, I have so many other bets going on that everything/hole gets finished regardless of the total. Personally, I could care less about the balls. (Just glad the birdie held, it was my one shining moment) It was the point regarding the first putt. I'm kinda surprised to see the poll totals, I thought it would be a blowout.
  14. Sorry for your plight. One thing you should never do in golf is to say "never".
  15. What plan is that? I have 4 lines, 1 iPhone (my daughters) and my bill is easily double that! And I mean easily double plus about $70 more. Seriously, is that plan/deal available? I'm in PA, I'll even switch to an Erie area code, you guys still 814? What's the discount for? Sign me up! Whoda thunk the entire world would need their own phone number??? Back to the OP, my Sister has the Ipod that looks like the Iphone, it's pretty cool. It does everything the Iphone does but make calls. Personally, I like to keep my phone simple, if my Ipod breaks down, no big deal, if my phone breaks, I always rush to get it replaced. Now if the ipod portion of the phone breaks..... then what do you do? Plus, I don't want to consume my phones battery with other crap.
  16. Here's what happened. Every now and then, the course we play our Saturday skins game will give out group a dozen balls to be used for prizes. We usually use a sleeve each for up 2 Closest to the Pins, one long drive and one long putt. This past Saturday I made about a 6 foot putt on #18, the long putt hole. The birdie held up, but the last group came in and said, "Joe beat your putt". No big deal because it was just a sleeve of balls. After Joe left the course and one of the guys with him said IT WAS HIS SECOND PUTT that he beat me with. Realizing he was skunked in the game and out of the hole, he putted to be outside the prevailing long putt mark. I called BS. Most of the guys were with me, but two of them thought that any putt that drops can win the long putt. My argument to that is that the long drive is always the first shot, you just can't keep reloading until you beat it... Same with closest to the pin, first shot only... You could hypothetically, or even actually, just keep putting near the hole, then back outside the range until you finally make one.... So how would/do you guys play a longest putt prize?
  17. I was cleaning out the garage this morning and found my old Goldwyn AVDP aluminum head driver. I remembered the above quoted text and thought "why not?". I drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the top of the head and packed it with some sand that was leftover from the pool filter. I capped the hole with a dab of epoxy. It's perfect! The driver is nicely weighted and still swings great. I compared the feel to my neighbors medicus driver and I'll bet a blindfolded guy could NOT tell them apart. At first I thought the head might fly off (I guess it still might) but, so far, so good. My out of pocket cost was $0 because I had all the stuff laying around. If you're thinking of spending $XX on a weighted club, you may want to spend very few $$$ and take the above route. Great Tip!!
  18. I have a two wheel pull cart you can have for free. If you lived nearby you could pick it up. For what it would cost to ship it to you, you could buy one new. These things pop up on Craigslist fairly often, check your local edition. BEST TIP YOU"LL EVER READ ON THE TOPIC: Forget the two wheel kind that you pull, they suck. Get a 3 wheeler. Cheap store brand three wheelers are available, and they are way better then any two wheeler. If you plan on using it for a long time though, spend a little more and get a good one.
  19. I think because your poll is being taken by people actually using the Internet, it will be biased towards the Internet savvy side of the equation. Although I'm sure the number is shrinking, there are still lots and lots of people who for one reason or another will never buy online. Whenever I'm in Golf Galaxy or Dicks, I see many people buying clubs, bags and other stuff. The Golf Galaxy near me is the flagship store (as is the Dick's their flagship for that matter). Both stores seem to be overstaffed with fairly qualified personnel. If they weren't moving merchandise, the stores wouldn't be as successful as they seem. My Golf Galaxy has 5 hitting stations, 3 of them have the screens, one has a bunker. I've not touched a club there and not had a clerk ask if I wanted to try anything. Unless it's February and I'm jonesing to whack a ball, I usually don't. Personally, I've bought from the stores, online and even private party. I'll go where it makes the most sense.
  20. There are so many, they have their own club. These guys are amazing!!!
  21. Come on over and root for the Pens! The day I hooked up my TV, the first thing I watched was a hockey game. I was thoroughly impressed. I think the best HD show I ever saw was called "Ant Wars". The filming and display is amazing. To see a 52" ant head is something else!
  22. My two favorite television acronyms.... HD & DVR. You can watch a 3 hour golf telecast is about an hour and never miss a shot. Except for the last few holes, I hate watching the event live.

    Rant: Chewers

Unless they shut down the course forever as soon as you guys were finished, it did matter.
  24. I'm with you. I'm not saying I couldn't hit them, I just couldn't hit them good enough to justify replacing anything else in the bag. I think we're in the minority though... I see lots of these hybrids in play. The people who do play them love them, and that's good.... for them. I have a Tour Edge 3 hybrid in my garage, it was one of my many gotta get it now sticks. I'll pull it out occasionally and swing it in the back yard. Damn it feels good.... until I put a ball in front of it...
  25. Nice Job! I, like many, have been close often, but she's never dropped! Check out the various ball and club sites, they may have some recognition gifts and what not if you used their ball and/or club!
