They definitely need to take a look at this and change it. Instead of a Zero Tolerance policy how about have like 1 or 2 warnings before a DQ. And if you're late, OK maybe let that slide as opposed to blowing it off completely..

Anyone going? This is going to be my first PGA event I attend - I do kind of regret missing out on the Barclays last year and that Liberty Golf Course... It was at Ridgewood Country Club 2 years ago...So any tips/advice on attending this particular event or attending a PGA Event in general ??

Best iPhone Golf GPS App?
Comeback City replied to Tenacious Deek's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I've only played 1-2 rounds with Golfshot, but I'm pretty up to speed on the controls and I love it...The interface is nice & simple but it's pretty informative and the GPS was pretty much spot on, too. Played one round and still had plenty of battery life (locked the screen constantly) with the iPhone 4. -
Been using Nike golf balls lately. For the most part, in 2010: Picked up about 3 dozen Nike PD Soft for $10 each, then bought another 3 dozen Nike Juice Plus balls (discontinued) for $11/dozen and one Dozen Nike Crush for $18 but it came with a free golf towel. I also have 2 dozen Nike One Tour balls that I picked up for $20/dozen... I guess part of it is because I've been getting good deals on Nike balls..

Really enjoyable watching this guy commentate on the NBA...one of the few guys that isn't afraid to speak his mind, and be damn funny doing so.. But yeah, I saw one hole with him teeing off with one hand...just a bit unbelievable/stunning to watch...good luck to him. It would be nice to see another Golf Channel show with him, though.
-
I think the tee times he drew, basically for all 3 of his rounds - good fortune. If he does win, I think we'll all feel cheated a bit - he went through an 'easier' test of golf. I don't think he'd be leading if he had different tee times...certainly not at -15.. But I guess that's the way it is, not only in life but in golf. He still has to step up and capitalize on this opportunity, though. I thought he'd fade today, and he did get off to a slightly poor start...I'd be surpised if he lost it. I think if he was going to choke he'd already choked by now...Starting and closing the 3rd round atop the leaderboard is going to give him some confidence.

He's going to make less, there's no question. His endorsement deals are not as big as say, Tiger's. He made $27 or $28 million last year, $14-$15 million of that was from his NBA Salary. #1) He's going to make less by just switching teams (Cleveland can offer him more) and #2) Miami doesn't have the space to sign him to a maximum deal, so he's taking less than the max...

Yeah...can't imagine what you're going through. By the way, you know Cleveland Golf isn't based on the city of Cleveland at all, right? Anyway, I think the whole process was absymal, a disaster, one of the worst ways LeBron could've done it... But overall, I think it is a good move. He's taking on less money to win. The fact that Miami doesn't have any depth won't be that big, or at least not as big as most people think it will be. LeBron took a starting lineup of Larry Hughes, Sasha Pavlovic and Drew Gooden to the Finals. All 3 of those guys could be out of the league before next season.. The team is going to be unbelievable and for sure, they have a shot of being one of the all time greatest teams (and they're together for 6 years...). Just imagine, Wade/LeBron, being premier defenders, Wade/LeBron on the break with Bosh, a big man that runs the floor well...Wade/LeBron playing off the ball, creating for each other, tossing alley-oops to each other regularly? It's going to be Showtime, all over again.

Brilliant. OK Thanks. +1 Rep

Quick Question - Does a putt off the green count towards your total putts ??
-
call their customer service: https://nikegolf.custhelp.com/app/an...etail/a_id/502 they might send you a "replacement" one... There's also some on eBay
-
another good thing is that the course is usually less busy +1
-
Hmm, good call there...It does seem like he's probably using a prototype ball then.. So any more info from your source? Like is it going to be a 4, possibly 5 piece ball? And what's the name? Nike One Tour has a nice ring to it..
-
The good thing is courses usually firm up quite a bit so your drives go a lot longer than usual.

Nike Golf's official twitter page says Tiger used the Nike One Tour D... http://twitter.com/nikegolf By the way, crazy that with one simple change Tiger becomes one of the longest hitters on tour, at least for one tournament..
-
sounds like the Nike One Tour D, but yea, certainly it could be a prototype for the next premium nike ball...but it looks like an adjustment preparing for the British Open..

Butch Harmon...did you know?
Comeback City replied to Chillmoon91's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
that's a nice insight and all...but... can you tell us the right way to do each ?? -
Thanks...Yup, first timer...and I'll definitely be checking out a lot of museums (like the Lourve, where the Templar Knights treasure is, right??) and tourist locations. I've got a DSLR and I read soemwhere recently paris is one of the world's most photographable cities, if not the No.1 overall...so yeah, I'm definitely going to try to pack a lot in... but...what can I say? Golf's a passion, so I'm definitely going to try and get a couple of rounds in regardless..
-
Thanks that's helpful. It looks like my trip has been postponed until the third week of August, so if I need that help I'm PM you closer to my trip. I'll be staying about a '10 minutes walk from the Champs-Élysées (not sure what that is) and pretty close to the Charles d Gaule Etoile...so yeah, doesn't look like there's very many courses around there. I don't speak a lick of French (and I think I might want to try to keep it that way, so my social interactions with French people will be more...fun ) but Google Translator's been helpful, especially on a lot of these course websites...
-
Thanks for the feedback...Looks like I'm going to be right in the center of Paris in a 'touristy' location... Yeah there aren't many golf courses just from looking at Google Maps...how big is Golf in France exactly ?? Anyway I'm not sure I'm going to even take my clubs, we'll see...especially if I go travel throughout the rest of France. It's exciting, regardless of golf, but I would love to play a couple of rounds with the metric system
-
Anyone ever play golf out in Paris? My Dad has a business trip towards the end of July for about a week and I'm probably going with.. Never been to so yeah nor do I speak French so...could be some sort of roadblock but we'll see...But I guess what I'm looking for is any recommendations, experiences and any particular subtleties with US/Europe or France golf courses that I may encounter?
