  1. I started up my winter training today. SuperSpeed has some new videos out. They've tweaked when to progress to each level, added a designated rest period after the green and blue swings before the red, and explained when you might want to train versus maintenance. I have the cheap swing speed radar, but think I'll get the PRGR. https://train.superspeedgolf.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/2021-Protocol-Handbook.pdf
  2. You haven’t discussed it yet, but good reply.

  5. Then what’s my angle?
  6. My angle is that covid is nuanced, as the article elaborates on, with differing opinions among medical professionals.

  8. I was deciding between Phil and Nelly but chose Phil for the stories he would tell.
  9. Pregnant reporter says PGA Tour fired her after she failed to get ‘religious exemption’ on COVID protocols Gregson said she tried to get a religious exemption from the PGA Tour but was not granted one. This story has some more info and makes it sound like maybe she just didn't want to go back to the office.
  10. I think that’s accurate. She chose not to vaccinate and was unwilling to go along with the rules and couldn’t get an exemption to the vaccination requirement is how I read it. It’s going to get messy if the federal mandate sticks for employers and they have to track the unvaccinated and enforce a mask mandate for just them. It’s an HR nightmare. Who in the company has access to the info and who goes around enforcing? The testing is not near as big of an issue.
  11. Cool explanation and video. The human body is amazing.
  12. Agree with the article, It just shouldn’t be mandated like San Francisco plans to IMO. from the article….“Again, this decision is personal and unique to each family. And I won’t judge you at all if you want to learn more from me before you decide to get it for your kids. ” to me this reads, I won’t judge you as long as you ultimately agree with me. What if they don’t agree to get it for their kids? Is that ok?

  15. Finished the podcast today. I really enjoyed hearing some of the background and stories of the progression of your teaching. It was a good reminder about par 5’s just need one good shot. It’s ok to aim pretty far right if ob left. Just keep it in the ropes. All stuff I’ve heard for the most part but I appreciated the explanation and reminder. and I didn’t think you put your foot in your mouth much, sounded good.
  16. I listened to this podcast today and thought it was very good on a wide range of topics surrounding covid from a perspective that there is a lot of nuance there. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/vaccine-hesitant-a-doctor-responds/id1570872415?i=1000536259516 It's long, but worth it if interested..... one part in particular I liked was about how different the policy response is now versus what it would have been like in 1998 if the same pandemic happened at minute mark 18:15-22:40....because of political polarization and the ability to work and attend school from home etc.
  17. All the hunters out there…..be careful? Deer identified as widespread carrier of coronavirus: study Scientists worry the virus could eventually travel back to human populations if not eradicated in the... “As much as 80% of the 445,000-strong Iowa deer population may carry the disease, according to a new study, However, the prevalence of coronavirus among animals may hamper efforts to eradicate the disease from nature — meaning that the elimination of COVID-19 in humans wouldn’t necessarily be enough to prevent another outbreak.”
  18. Additionally, you can't fly, you can't hold a lot of jobs, you can't cross many borders, you can't get respect of fellow employees, friends and even some of your family. Although I don't think your list is very accurate for much of the country, maybe they have a good reason to not get vaccinated if your list is true?
  19. The conference champ game is a de facto first round to the CFP in my scenario. They got in, they just lost the first round. I understand the perspective, by why should team A get in if they just lost to an inferior team when it matters. It just goes back to my initial point that i wouldn't care when these scenarios happen because you give fan bases like those of team B hope later in the season. I agree you don't necessarily end up with the "best" teams in the playoff.
  20. Sure, I agree. My main point is I wouldn't care if the "best" team didn't win or make it to the playoff or whatever. If a power 5 conf has a championship game that decided who gets in the CFP and, who cares if the team with the better resume and record loses missing out of the playoff. Weird things happen in sports and that's what makes it fun. Going into a season with only a handful of teams with a realistic chance to win the championship is not great for the sport. The more the better. But I'm a Missouri fan, not Alabama or Ohio State so that's probably why I feel that way. 🤷‍♂️
  21. I haven’t read this whole string but if I were ncaa football czar, this would not be my goal. It would be to get as many fan bases believing their team has a chance to win a championship. Like the ncaa bball tourney, it’s not the best way to prove who the best team is, but it’s super fun and entertaining.
  22. This was the line of thinking a lot of folks used to decide get their older kids the shot....so they didn't have to miss school, high school sports, etc. if exposed. Not because of the risks from actually getting covid. Generally speaking, not as big of a deal for younger kids to miss school and sports aren't as important at that age.
  23. I think there's a good chance it will be substantially lower. There's a subset of parents who ended up getting the shot, weren't really scared of getting covid, but felt it was the right thing to do, would make life easier in some ways, and would rather not get sick than get sick of course. That was when the story was to get the shot and life goes back to normal. Now, efficacy numbers going down, boosters needed, vaccinated folks getting sick etc.. I think some of those folks are not going to see the benefit of getting their young kids a shot that works for a few months against a virus with statistically an extremely low risk of affecting them. Couple that with all the kids in this situation who have recently have covid with natural immunity.
