Is there one or two main things you use it for? I don’t know a ton about it but from looking at the site I’m still a little confused.

Looking forward to spring to put these to work. Just got them today. I’ve had Edel wedges before but tried another brand for a while and missed how versatile and great these are.

Day 2, super speed this morning and 15 min or so of slow motion swings working mostly on backswing, getting club more vertical/umbrella feel.

Thanks! Yeah I felt very uncoordinated trying those again today. Ha.

Day 1...I’m going to start this up again. Had three or four ten minute breaks today where I worked on my backswing. Hinging the club head up quicker and getting the club more vertical when left arm is parallel. Lot of slow swings and hit some balls at a slower pace and then hit a few drivers at full speed trying to keep those feels.

Started p90x again yesterday and I’m sore today. It’s been a few years since I went thru p90.....I’ve been working out consistently but mostly just weights. Did the chest and back and then plyo today. Been sticking with superspeed 3x per week. Trying to eat right now too.

Pros vs. Ams: Golf Swing Hip Rotation
Wanzo replied to Warlock's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I don’t think I would have guessed that but makes sense. If I’m not paying attention I tend to get weight more in my heels at setup.- 8 replies

Simple, Specific, Slow, Short, and Success - The Five "S"s of Great Practice
Wanzo replied to iacas's topic in Swing Thoughts
I’m not sure this is the best spot for this question, but I’ve been wondering what you and others think about exaggerating a fault to the other extreme or should success be doing it “right”? For example, my instructor has me working on keeping club head outside my hands to begin takeaway, and getting club more vertical at p3. Is it ok to really exaggerate that to an extreme where it’s not correct, but feeling the opposite so that when I add speed it’s more normal? Or is it best to just go slow enough where I’m always doing it correctly? -
wow, great job! i'm hoping for something like that next season.

Yeah, I'm ready to commit this winter to change that picture. Couple more notes for myself.... -Keep working the shaft to be more vertical (pointing between feet and ball) at A-3 but also make sure the hands are less behind me at that point, left arm less pinned across the chest, feel left arm going more straight back to start. For later....want to work to keep right shoulder from retracting so much at end of backswing, keep right elbow from going so far where it ends up past shirt seam.

I just got these in the mail today. I’ve had a couple pairs of trues before and thought they were good, not great. But these feel amazing! Can’t wait to get them out in the course and I might wear them to work with jeans. Really comfortable.

Makes sense, I just find myself grabbing the same club even if another club should be easier in theory because it's what I've practiced more. I do occasionally bump a hybrid with a putting motion when I'm on the fringe. Pretty similar here. 90% is way too high of a bar. I might use one club 70% of the time… but 90%? Inside 40 yards? That's a LOT. That's using another club once every two rounds, maybe. that's fair, 90% was probably an exaggeration. I should probably look at actual stats like @coachjimsc

I’m most interested to see steph play.

I’m looking forward to watching it, at least have it on in the background. TeamOdds Steph Curry & Peyton Manning-175 Phil Mickelson & Charles Barkley+138 not sure Phil can make up for how bad Barkley is, especially in this format.

Do you have a club that you default to around the green, say 40 yards and in? I've typically leaned towards the strategy of using the same club and practicing different types of shots with it. It's usually my lob wedge. I've tried to transition to using my sand wedge, but would always go back to my lob wedge. I've also tried getting used to a less lofted iron (8 or 9) when hitting a shot with a lot of green to work with that runs, but find when I do that I'm just not as confident since i haven't practiced and done it as often as just hitting my lob wedge.

New (old) priority for now per evolvr: This winter I think that the big picture for us should be working on how the shaft is tipping out from 4-5.5 and how your trail shoulder/arm influence that. make the Shaft taller at A3. I would like you to have to BOC (butt of the club) to point inside the ball and your feet. It does not have to be excessive. Just a few inches is good.

Nice! I've got that one too. Looking forward to this as well. I've been doing the protocols off and on for a while, but this accountability and tracking will be fun and helpful. -
I'm not sure where they are now, but they said at the end of the final episode the lowest they got was 3.1. Yeah, if they don't make some big changes in how they approach things, it's not likely they will get much lower. But they made some comments about knowing the right things to do (we'll see if they are "right), but if they just stick to a plan for a whole year and stop looking for quick fixes it will be interesting to see what happens. It's entertaining. They do seem to have an obsession with shooting par in a round, no matter the differential.
-
Just curious of your reasoning. Do you think it's because of their current plan on how to go about it, or getting to that handicap is just not likely in general for their situation?

I’m in. Looking forward to it. -
I like the idea. Why limit cor if distance isn’t a problem.

Hope they get to play.

I really enjoy the podcast and there are definitely some things i relate to in their quest. Some of your points here @iacas are really good reminders for me too. It seems like they have had more lessons this season than in the past, maybe. And they kicked off the year with the trip to see Adam Young. They've talked about this recently, and i can relate somewhat, but they seem to have a hard time being technical when practicing and then when they are playing....just play. But i agree at least from what we hear, it sounds like they are getting voices from a lot of directions and bouncing back to old thoughts and tips. I need this right now. I've tended to draw/pull-draw my wedges and short irons and fade/pull-fade my longer clubs. I usually hit the ball without a lot of curve in general so many times i just aim straight. But it's a really bad feeling standing over a ball, specifically driver, and fearing a miss on both sides. i need to work towards having one pattern. I also need to commit to figuring out my actual weaknesses and not just my perceived ones. Yeah, i would agree they tend to be too aggressive in general. They have kind of talked about how it's sort of at odds with making the podcast entertaining at times, and probably just against what they are used to doing. Mike talked about playing with that scratch golfer who when he asked him what to do on a shot, basically called him crazy for considering anything other than just getting the ball back in position on the hole.
