  2. Good range session today. Been working on weight transfer and having more weight forward at impact. Had about 15 shots out of the bucket that felt pretty good with the new movement. Hopefully these changes start to take and I can build more consistency.
  3. 40-42 for a total round of 82 at The Country Club at Soboba Springs. 9 pars 8 bogies and a double. Drove the ball well but putts were just not falling. Finished the round with 34 puts.
  4. Thanks for posting the video. I'll echo a lot of the posture comments. Video is huge in being able to correct things like posture as we all just tend to get into a position that feels "comfortable" or "athletic." When we can actually see what positions we are getting in we can begin to make positive change. I'm working on my posture at set up as well and it is slow going and it is easy to slip back in to that old "comfortable" position. Keep working at it and eventually the new correct posture will become your "comfortable" position. You also get a little stuck in your down swing and stand up to compensate. Work on turning back through and getting to your front foot. Keep at it and I'm excited to see future videos.
  5. @mvmac thanks for the feedback and the links. I stopped by the range today and snuck in a quick 30 minutes and was able to grab some footage. Tried getting more over my arches and off my heels and also flaring my feet a bit. Hope the face on shots help.
  6. I've been Playing Golf for: 17 years, but just coming back into the game after a 5 year layoff. My current handicap index or average score is: Lately been shooting in the mid to low 80's. My typical ball flight is: I like to play a low penetrating ball flight as I grew up playing in a lot of wind. My typical shot is a bit of a pull. When playing well, a small draw. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: I hate blocking the ball and hitting shots off the toe. Videos: Driver 7 Iron For now I just have these shots. I will get face on shots as soon as possible. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Excited to get back into the game and start scoring again. Thanks in Advance, Steven

  8. Ok guys here's the deal. I have taken about a 5 year break from the game and just started getting serious about playing again thanks to some encouragement form an old friend ( @tristanhilton85 ). I have a set of the original nike blades 2-pw a 51 degree Cleveland 588 a 56 degree cleveland 588. I also have an old ping i3 14 degree three wood and just picked up a used Callaway XR driver in 9 degrees. For a putter, I play a classic looking taylormade rossa Daytona model. My grips definitely need replacing and are all different right now. The irons are mostly tour velvets in decent shape (5 iron has a tour velvet cord). The 3 wood grip is difficult to call a grip anymore, but it's so old the indentations are what keep if from slipping out of my hand. The 51 is a cord grip and the 56 is a midsize cord grip. I play without a glove, not because I am cheap, but because I like the feel. Any suggestions on what grips I should be looking at? Also what's the deal with the new oversized putter grips? Any benefits/drawback? I play in Southern California and the only real weather I have to contend with is dry hot summers (100+ degrees). Five years out of the game and I feel like everything has changed. Feeling a little lost and will appreciate as much help as I can get. Thanks TST!
  9. Athleticism will take you a long way, but like all athletics you can only go from good to great with a lot of work/time. Keep at it and like @Patch said, focus on the easy things. Don't try and fix everything all at once, focus on one area and move on to the next after you get something down.
  10. Shot 78. 39 39, played the front twice at Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club in San Diego. The greens were punched and sanded so putting was a crap shoot, but drove the ball well and that led to a great score. After about a 5 year break from the game, it's super exciting to get back out there and start playing consistently again even though my game still feels pretty inconsistent.
  11. Shot 81 on a windy day at the championship Links at Summerly in Lake Elsinore, CA. Was even on the backside and doubled 18. Hope to be back in the 70's soon. Borrowed a buddies Callaway XR driver for the round and promptly purchased one for myself after the round!
