I use two different grips. Golf Pride VDR midsize on my irons and wedges, and Winn Lite midsize on my hybrid, 3-wood, and driver. The Winn Lite is because I run these clubs a little shorter then normal (44.5" driver, 42.5" 3-wood, and 40" hybrid) so the lite grips help keep the swingweights in the normal range. Just switched to these last weekend, first time using midsize grips, but so far I'm very happy with them. I have big hands, XL gloves, and probably should have gone to midsize grips long ago.

I'm a little ocd so I like certain things to match. I want my wedges to be the same, my irons obviously, and prefer my driver/fairway/hybrids to match. Right now I play Mizuno irons and Titleist everything else just because that is what I'm really liking at the moment. I like the consistent look of my hybrid, fairway, and driver having the same look and setup. That being said I'm not 100% sold on the 3 wood yet so that could change, but I love the driver and hybrid so those aren't going anywhere. So I'm not a brand loyalist, even if I do play a lot from Titleist right now, I just like some consistency in my bag.

I hit both and decided I could live with a nice used 909 for $150 rather then drop $400 for the 910. Loving the 909 right now but if I ever get consistent enough with my driver to where fine tuning the ball flight via the adjustable head would be worthwhile I might spring for the 910.

I really wanted the new 910, it's a beautiful driver and I love the feel. Went to the shop to trade in a few clubs towards one but ended up finding a bunch of 909 D2s in the used section. I hit 4 different setups of the 909 and about the same of the 910. In the end I went with a 909 D2 9.5* w/ Diamana Blue stiff shaft. Numbers were very similar to the best of the 910s I hit. As cool as the adjustability is I don't think I need it right now. My driver swing is pretty crap at the moment anyway so I like having a pretty neutral setup as I work on fixing my swing. Also...I'm afraid I would just keep tinkering with the damn thing and never really settle in with it. Overall I'm pretty happy with my used 909. It was marked at $150 so rather than adding $235 to my trade in clubs to get the 910 I walked out with the 909 and a box of Pro V1x balls for no money out of pocket. After two rounds with it I'm driving the ball better and straighter then I have before.

I can say that I absolutely love my MX-200. I find them pretty high launching, very forgiving and with a great feel. I use the XP shafts in stiff and have been quite happy with them.

I don't know about soaking them, might take off the paintfill. I just use a little on a paper towel or a rag and rub away. It's a little tenacious but it will come off eventually. They sure are better looking once removed...I think those decals are hideous myself, but the irons themselves look great once naked.

Yeah, i just looked for acetone nail polish removed and used that on a small rag. Worked great with a little effort.

yeah, I'm not sure what Miz was thinking with the MX-200 and MX-300. I guess maybe trying to compete for people who were not the typical Mizuno customer and who were used to seeing the flashing looking clubs. Instead I think a lot of people who bought them were people like me who like Mizuno clubs and the clean look of them but didn't quite have the swing for the MP series. I bought mine knowing I would take the decals off...and did so within 10 minutes of getting them home.

I did that to mine. Use a wood tee to pry up the decal and cleaned up the little glue residue with acetone. Worked great. Only pic I have is this before/after shot: Sorry, it's a crappy pic, all I had was my iPhone. Still, absolutely love these irons and how they look once they decals were removed.

Yeah, $30 is a lot in the iPhone app world but really it replaces a $300 GPS unit, in that regards it's incredibly cheap. I just used it last night and it just reaffirmed that it was probably the best $30 I have spent on golf stuff. It is so useful every single time I go out and play. Plus it has every course I play, even the small town ones around here that are missing from many other GPS apps.

I have Golf Shot and like it a lot, it works great for me.

Coming off some Ping G5 irons I looked at both the MX200 and MX300 and I could definitely see the difference in face size at address....as a pretty crappy golfer I felt more comfortable with the MX200 and went that route and have not been disappointed in the slightest, love these clubs. If/when I get my handicap down to a reasonable level I'll consider stepping up to the MX300. I'm completely sold on the Mizuno clubs though, absolutely love these things and haven't even looked at other irons since getting these.

I always carry my driver but rarely pull it these days. I've spent the last month or more playing without my driver, teeing off with my 3 wood or my 4 iron both of which I'm very comfortable with. It has definitely helped my game. Went out Monday night and shot my best 9 hole round all year, a +6 42 for 9 holes (yeah...I'm not very good). I hit driver twice...once got me in a little trouble but I recovered for a birdie and the second hit was great. All other holes I used my 3 wood or my 4 iron and it served me well instead (except for the par 3's of course). Besides, distance has never been what was holding me back...control is my problem.

My towels have little plastic clips on them so I clip that to the towel loop but then I often double the towel over and run the bottom end through the loop so it isn't hanging totally free. Not sure why I do this....but it keeps the towel in place and is still handle to pull out fully when needed.

Driver- found it used for $99 and figured what the heck as I needed a new driver. Not really that fond of it but I don't hit driver that much so haven't bothered finding something else. 3 utility wood and 3 hybrid- Cheap! Last year there were some great deals on Nickent gear and I scored both of these clubs for under $100 total I believe. Turns out I love them too and they just feel right to me. Very happy with both of these clubs and glad to have them in the bag. Irons- Had some Ping G5s that I liked ok but the offset bugged me for some reason. I really wanted something forgiving but with less offset. Shop had a set of Mizuno MX-200s used in regular shaft and I bought them with a 30 day return policy. Played with them for a week or so and decided I absolutely loved the clubs but needed stiff shafts. Returned the used clubs for credit and traded in my G5s and walked out with a brand new set in stiff shaft. Love the feel of the clubs and love the look too (at least after removing the blue decals....now they are so clean and simple). Also...I like forged irons...I like the idea behind them and I admit it may not make much if any real world difference but I swear they feel softer and even if it is just in my head I'm ok with that because to me they still feel better :) Wedges- I went to Vokey because of the name at the start. Then I decided to try a Mizuno because I thought maybe I would prefer a forged wedge. Turns out I just like the Vokey feel better. Heavier head and shorter shaft than the Mizuno....the Vokey just felt like how a wedge should feel to me. So I stuck with them. Putter- Well, there is the name of course but I also like the look and feel. My brother has always played Scotty putters and I've always wanted one. I went to the golf shop to pick up a new putter and tried to go in with an open mind but my eye just kept going to the Scotties. I did play with everything they had pretty much and in the end, this is what felt the best to me. Expensive, sure...but my last putter stayed in the bag for 10 years so I figure it's worth the investment if I'm going to live with it for that long. Someday wouldn't mind trying a Byron Morgan but for now I'm content with my Cameron.
