  1. Alright guys, I'm sure this question has been asked before and I apologize if it has. The famous saying "best range player in the club" is the name of my game. On the range I'm a +3 handicap. In reality I'm an 8.4 and trending higher bc of this big problem. I can't bring my range swing to the course. Im going through a swing change to get rid of the over the top pull and I can exicute it perfect on the range (this has been going on for about 3 months). As soon as I get to the course I go back to that over the top swing that I'm oh so terribly comfortable with. I'm not looking for tips on my swing but some mental tips so I can transfer that swing to the course. I usually have about 2 swing thoughts when I play, usually a backswing and a downswing thought. It seems like the harder I try the worse it gets (I shot 93 today) and I'm on the verge of taking a hiatus from the game for a while. I appreciate any advice or wisdom that can be shared. Thanks Tommy
  2. Mike, I'm in the same exact boat as you....I'm an 8 handicap as well and suffer from the same devistating move, over the top pull/pull hook to the left. I also slide back so when I start my downswing I feel so stuck that I have to come over the top. I haven't seen the inside quarter of the golf ball in months. I played a round a few months back where I had got rid of it and my swing was working so nice inside to out, shot 74. But of course I go back to it because my swing is so grooved that way. Hope you can figure it out buddy, those low numbers are waiting for you.
  3. Hey everyone! My name is Tommy and I'm from California. I've been playing golf for a year consistently (pretty much every weekend) but picked it up about 13 years back (only played about 5-10 rounds a year max). I'm down to an 8 handicap and looking to hopefully get down to a scratch golfer one day (one can only dream). Look forward to speaking with everyone.
  4. Your releasing the club WAY too early on the downswing, feel like you throw the butt end of the club at the ball
  5. From the front view it looks like you are losing your spine angle by bending over a little. I was always told to feel tall on the backswing, but don't stand up and lose your angles. Also that right arm never gets extended after impact. Try extending the right arm after impact and rolling your arms up, while hitting the ball in the 4 o clock position. Your left arm is chicken wing-ing because you aren't releasing after impact. Hope that helps any!
  6. Great swing! He has such a fluid motion. Keep up the good work and keep practicing. I found this video via the thread looking for clubs. It touches my heart that there is still good people out there willing to help one another. I have no doubt you will make your golf team. Keep your eye on the prize Mack you got this!
  7. I have the same double sided wire brush as stated above but I NEVER use the wire side (said to be used on irons) because it can cause damaged and take off the finish of the club, especially in a forged Mizuno iron. If you soak the head in water for a few seconds and use the nylon side it works just as good as the metal wire side. Also, cleaning and drying your clubs after every round and practice session will help keep your clubs in good shape. Take care of your clubs and they will take care of you ??
