  1. Thanks for the response. I did a little quick research on what you suggested but didn't turn up much. Found a couple of systems (tour loc I think), but do you have any suggestions as the best way to go about this? I will also ask my local golf shop about this Thanks
  2. I had the shaft of my driver cut down today from 45.5" to 44". I went out & played a round today & noticed a definite improvement in my accuracy (a big reduction in my left to right movement). I play to the fade & its still there, but the slices were not (so far). I could not get an accurate reading on what this change did to my distance, there was a very strong wind today and I played on a course for the first time. I'm okay with a little distance loss (would rather not but can live with it if it means more fairways), but the feel of the club was noticeably different. It does not feel near as "solid" as the club did before. It is noticeably lighter now (I wouldn't have thought that trimming 1.5" would have made that much difference), so I'm going to start experimenting with adding weight to the head. I'm going to get some lead tape & gradually work the weight until I get that "solid" feeling again combined with the ball results that I want. Now my question: where do you add the weight to the club? Do you put it on the back of the head, top of the head...? I assume that you can also favor certain sides to promote how the club face closes, true? A little background info, the shaft is 65g and stiff flex & my swing speed is (was with the 45.5" shaft) between 105 -110. (I'm also kind of wondering if the shaft is now too light, but really don't want to change it until I learn some more about shafts and clubs & also still trying to figure out my swing). Thanks for any help & sorry for the long post
  3. put quite a few hours in the first play through, is the broken steel dlc worth starting a whole new game? I know you can play differently (i.e. bad karma this time around instead of good karma) but its a lot of time to go through a new game
  4. my weekend toy, currently undergoing a little minor surgery (not sure if it worked, first time trying to post an image)
  5. I have both an iPod & an iPhone and very rarely use the iPod anymore. The phone part of the iPhone is not the best, not real easy to use while driving but the bluetooth in my truck negates that, but it is something to think about. The convenience of having the music with you all the time is great though. I didn't like carrying around a phone and the iPod & you sure don't want to keep anything valuable in your cars where I'm from so the iPhone fixed that for me. I always have to have my phone on me, so now I always have the music. The iPod does get used on the weekend trips to the lake when I remember to bring it. It does work better with speaker docks (the iPhone will work on the Bose speakers, but it turns off the phone part in order to do so)
  6. Bought the uPro last week & played a couple of rounds with it since. Quick & easy to use, worked great. One of the others in our group had the sg4 & we both liked the features of the uPro more. Seemed a little more accurate too for the course we played on. Just noticed the $100.00 rebate for purchases during the month of June Guess I was a couple days too early, think I'll give customer service a call
  7. Just got into a set of the MX-200s myself & love them. Good feel & the mishits are near as ugly as they used to be
  8. Music has really helped me. Good mix of 50s, 60s, & 70s rock & country does the trick. Just put one headphone in & tuck the other one in the buttons on your shirt. Can still carry on conversation too.
  9. Definitely give the Ping G10's a try. I tried out just about every hybrid before getting the 21* G10 with the TFC 129 stiff shaft & love it. One thing to check though is the distance you hit it. Ping says it is a 7-wood equivelant, but I hit it as well as my 3-wood with much better consistency. I went back & picked up the 24* (4-iron or 9-wood) to fill the gap similar to what you are talking about.
  10. Hello, new to the forum & have a question. I play with a set of Cobra SS forged irons that I bought about 4 years ago based solely on the advice that they are decent clubs that I could grow into (other than that didn't know anything about them). Due to knee & neck injuries, this year is the time that I have really been able to play with any consistency. With limited practice time available during the week I find myself having to concentrate on hitting these irons & have very little time to work on putting (which I am horrible at) & chipping/pitching. I know getting better takes time & hard work, but after researching clubs a little I'm wondering if something like the Mizuno MX-200s would be more suited for someone at my level. Would irons like these be more forgiving than the Cobra's & allow me to spend more of my limited practice time working on my short game? Any advice is appreciated
