The first round I put in has me at 0% sand saves but i didn't have any sand save opportunities. I messed up and tagged a sand shot somehow on the third hole, but deleted the extra shot yet it still has me with a sand save x and 0% for that round. My second round has "--," which would be correct for no sand save opportunities. Can I fix that somehow? I'm new at this.

I took 3 years off and I am struggling with a wrist injury. I can't get my scorecard to work, so I got game golf cause I missed keeping my stats. Don't know if it is quite the same or as good at keeping them. So far only played 2 nine hole rounds and one of them was at an unplayable course, which didn't used to be that bad 4 years ago. http://www.gamegolf.com/player/rhoj

ok cool thank you very much, but i do not want my current putter adjusted. i am completely dissatisfied with it. i want a new putter for sure. i just sent an email to the last guy on the list since he is closest so we'll see if i get a reply.

how do i find pga certified fitters in my area? i don't really know where to start here
-
what's the best way to get fitted for a putter? i've never been fitted for any clubs before. should you buy a putter on your own and take it to someone to get it fitted for you after the fact, or should the fitter help guide the putter selection? i live an hour north of pittsburgh and want a new putter. where should i go to get fitted?

don't get excited about playing good. don't get freaked out by a bad hole or two. just keep playing and stay focused on each shot. don't rush. i tend to take a little extra time around the greens reading break when it really matters. i tend to slow my walking down slightly as i as i get closer to my ball to lower my heart rate when the pressure is on.

what kind of wedge are you using? if you have just a standard sand wedge that came with your set you might need one with more loft.

got myself in little trouble today. i was maybe 8 feet right of the green on a 200 yard par 3 under a pine tree but i was in a hole under the pine tree. it was maybe 3 to 4 inches deep or so, about a square foot i guess but i had to keep it low to stay under the branches of the pine tree but get it up over the side of the hole. i also had to hit a little down on it because the other side of the hole wasn't far behind the ball. the branches did not interfere with my swing at all. i went with an 8 iron to try to keep it under the branches but ended up hitting the side of the hole and it stayed under the tree but it ended up in a better spot so i could get it on at least. i considered the 9 but thought it would hit those branches. might have worked but it might be close to an impossible shot from under there. i believe the smarter play, after the fact, would have been to hit pw or sw and play to hit the branches, just hit it harder to try to get through, but that is risky as well because you don't know how it will react off the branches. i didn't really consider the putter because i had maybe 7 feet of rough to go through. what would you do?

what are your best tips for hitting low trajectory drives in windy conditions?

i really liked this book. i will pick and choose what i want to take from it because there are some things that i'm not sure about, but i think it was well written and very informative. a lot of times books leave me wanting more, but i did not feel that way about this one. no one had ever gone into such detail with me about the short game like this. i am rereading it now because it was really too much to digest the first time. good stuff.

"The Only Golf Lesson You'll Ever Need" by Hank Haney
jerry g replied to iacas's topic in Reading Room
seems aimed at higher handicap players but it does not appear to me like it would help anyone's game much. there are a few tips that could be useful to some but overall and in every way possible it leaves much to be desired. supposed to be a golf lesson from hank in book form but that format just doesn't really work. i would not recommend this one. -
just a little snow on my 7 iron after hitting some practice balls in the yard. seemed like a good one for winter.
-
so basically the entire secret is 1. toes parallel with intended line of putt. 2. eyes directly over ball. (i haven't been doing this part of it. i prefer my eyes above and behind the ball a little at this time.) 3. the right forearm is resting lightly against the right thigh and the left elbow is pointing in line with the toes. 4. body weight is slightly back and toward the left foot. can't get to the course in the winter but on the carpet i am kinda liking this. thinking this could maybe help me. still wonder what other people think of this putting style as putting is the area i need to improve most.
-
yeah i don't know what you're talking about either. i googled the phrases thinking maybe just maybe but nope.
-
what are your thoughts, when putting, on resting the right forearm on the right thigh? this is part of a tip from "the secret of golf," a compilation of different tips by teachers/pros. just messing around with it. i am wondering what some of you think of this.

Does your front foot move during the swing?
jerry g replied to joepro23's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
my left heel comes off the ground during the backswing and i turn my foot toward the target during the downswing, or at the top of my backswing. i had a left ankle injury at one time and keeping that foot anchored just would not work for me. only one person has ever commented about that to me. he was like," how do you move your foot like that?" i dunno, just naturally. -
your videos aren't working very good for me now. worked ok before but now not so much.
-
no i don't think i have if you are going by the technical definition where you hit it off the hosel, but when i made a grip change a long time ago i struggled mightily one nine holes to where i couldn't hit anything but a 75 yard hook. that was a pretty frustrating day.

Right (Back) Knee Flex in Backswing
jerry g replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
the straightening of the right leg occurs to allow the hips to turn easier from the sound and feel of it and once turned fully at the top of the backswing, the leg reflexes before the downswing, but it is at a little different angle, the knee a little more forward leaning than at address, mostly because a lot of the weight is on the left foot during the downswing. at least that's what it felt like paying attention to this. it is not something i really can focus on during my swing but ya know kind of an interesting thing to look at. but i would also imagine it is possible to play good golf with not straightening the leg but i'm not an expert on the subject, just some guy trying to figure out the game as much as i can. -
http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30327 there is a link to an older thread where some people mention watching the clubhead on the backswing and then back to the ball. i watch the ball not the clubhead, but once i make contact i have no issue looking up to see it fly. when i first started golfing i needed to make more of a conscious effort to keep my eye on the ball because it was hard to keep from looking up too soon. after a while it became engrained in my swing and i can look up naturally on full swings. the only time i need to concentrate a little more than other times is on chip shots. i still occasionally look up too soon on those and chunk them so i try to keep my eye on them moreso than full shots.
-
it looks like you are lifting the club at takeaway too quickly rather than taking the club back closer to the ground for the first foot and a half or so. i'm not sure how to explain maybe lifting the clubhead very steeply right away instead of more parallel to the ground before the club starts upwards. that make sense? that might be a byproduct of a steeper shoulder turn i'm not sure. the wording steeper shoulder turn is a bit confusing to me so not sure. that just seemed to be the most glaring thing i saw from the vids and the balance issue

does the post office have boxes that fit or what? i just wondered how you guys are shipping them.

Right (Back) Knee Flex in Backswing
jerry g replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
very interesting. do you think then that some golfers could benefit having slightly less knee flex at address to promote a straighter right leg in the backswing? my guess would be no, but that thought crossed my mind. -
Right (Back) Knee Flex in Backswing
jerry g replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i think it depends on whether you swing with your weight on your left leg in the backswing, which would cause a straightening of the right leg, or if you shift your weight slightly back a couple inches, which would cause you to maintain address knee flex. -
'Spine Angle' Throughout the Backswing
jerry g replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i would say for me i seem to be more bent over at address and during the backswing and my spine angle is more upright during the downswing.
