  1. actually, one of the courses i play often near my dad's house has a 260 yard par 3, with a huge drop off to the right. i just take a 3-iron and hit it as hard as i can. i can put it on the very front green if there's a little tailwind, but if the wind is in your face at all, there's no hope of reaching it unless you want to pull out a 3 wood. since i don't play a 3 wood, i just try to lay up on the left. but yeah, it is ridiculous. http://www.indiancreekgolfclub.com/eaglsites/images/154/creekcoursescorecard.jpg
  2. the golf gods require a sacrifice.
  3. http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/r476/video/?/video/video/pga-tour/highlights/2011/08/02/qt_11wgcbridge_tue_woods_entire_prs.pgatour tiger's interview on tues at the bridgestone. he's lost quite a bit of weight as well. somebody needs to tell him to shave that ugly chin hair.
  4. i like playing longer courses. as a tall guy, i can hit my longer irons and driver more easily. but 7800 yards, damn! 4 600 yard par 5's. looks like nothing but a gimmick course.
  5. saying somebody is "due" something is like saying somebody "deserves" something, when in reality neither really means anything. sorry, just one of my pet peeves, forget about it. god, i sound like shorty.
  6. what does this even mean?
  7. whoa! would love to see that putt on video. have fun man, it'll be a great experience.
  8. http://www.golf-swing-magic.com/golf-wrist-action-1.html Quote: There is no action in golf less understood than the use of the wrists ("golf wrist action"): Curiously enough we do not have to work our wrists, but we have to let them work themselves - like the hinges on a door. This is important because the wrists will only be used correctly when we have the right idea of their correct mechanical action. If we get the wrong idea, the opening of the wrists in the region of the ball is bound to be mistimed. You will never get perfect timing if you try to flick the club head through the ball by wrist and hand action-perfect timing will come only when the opening of the wrists is brought about automatically by the momentum of the whole swing....
  9. you're coming over the top. pretend like you're trying to turn on a baseball and send it to left center, coming from the inside. and like in baseball, don't try and control the clubface, just keep your left arm straight, swing and let the rest happen naturally, without trying to manipulate the club.
  10. Due to Tiger's return, this will probably be the most watched non-major this year. I hope he does well, but I don't think he's going to win. With Tiger and Darren Clarke paired together, theirs will definitely be under the spotlight, and will be very interesting to follow. I would love to see Rory and Tiger battle it out on Sunday, but I think it will be Rory and Rickie in the final pairing, with Rory winning his first WGC.
  11. no jt... not you in particular, and i didn't mean it as a slight in any way. but honestly, if someone doesn't know you from adam, then they probably won't take much of an interest in your swing. sorry if it came off wrong, it wasn't meant to be a negative comment.
  12. Perhaps you shouldn't make your first post asking someone to critique your swing. I would geting to know some of the guys on the site first and let them get to know you, then people would be more forthcoming with advice.
  13. wow... what a finish by stallings! two great shots on 18 and the clutch putt. congrats scott.
  14. touché... well played, old boy. well played
  15. post your swing. if you don't want to do that, place a few sticks in the ground behind you an angle representing your swing plane. if you swing under plane, or take the club back to far, you're going to hit the stick.
  16. got to play colonial back in college the week before the tourney, one of my college buddie's g-grandfather was a founding member. we were 5 playing tournament conditions and we were the only ones on the course. it was pretty surreal. i was playing with close to a 0 handicap back then and shot a 78, so it was definitely a memorable experience. also played river oaks and champions in houston numerous times. they're pretty prestigious courses here in texas, but i'm not sure if those outside of texas and louisiana would have heard about them. btw broom, i hate you.
  17. keeping the same swing habits and moving the ball back will only serve to hit high hooks. you need to level out your shoulders and drop your shoulder in the downswing and make sure you're not flipping your wrists.
  18. scorecard signing penalties are nonsense.
  19. no need. why don't you grab a club, take a grip with your top hand and your handle going through the lifeline. you're not going to be able to hinge your wrists.
  20. what's most likely is he was offered an appearance fee if he made it through the weekend. so technically, he can still say he didn't collect any money.
  21. and apparently darren clarke was almost broke... much as i like darren, i have a severe lack of sympathy for pro athletes with money problems. i wonder if tiger is annoyed with sean foley yet? lord knows i would be, with all his "philosophizing" about nonsense. i for one, would like to see charles barkley on the bag. chuck could use the workout.
  22. it's actually called being 'hooked,' for some reason. but don't forget about narwhals.
