  1. it's a darn shame that i don't have any pictures to post, but i'll try to snap some while i'm home this weekend for the 4th great idea for a thread.
  2. i love how LPGA tour players (namely christina kim and michelle wie) use twitter mid-round traditional? no. but it does a great job of bringing fans closer to the action, which i always think is a good thing
  3. I would think a shaft with too little flex would stay open and cause more pushes and slices, not pulls/hooks...can anyone tell me why I might be wrong?
  4. i'm so tempted, i love ogio's club divider hmmmm
  5. yes, they can go dead. my guess is that your driver isn't dead, though.
  6. meh, it's not like he's a scratch golfer. my guess is that he's a talented golfer that plays alot. knew a kid in high school that shot sub-40s (daily, he was a golf teammate that played golf instead of football to stay healthy for basketball season) a week after he started playing golf. just pure talent
  7. i think if you're hitting the ball straight or drawing it, you don't need to go to a stiffer shaft
  8. should have gone to get fitted before you just started throwing shafts at your clubhead
  9. yeah, and I guess I just don't play courses long enough to need those yardages...most par 5's around here are between 5-600 yards, I don't try to attack them in two so ~280yd drive, 230 3w, short wedge into the green. the only place I run into trouble are the long par 3's that I usually have to attack with a 5 wood, but even if I miss the green i'm usually close enough to get up/down or bogey (which isn't bad for me) ive got alot more things I need to improve before I tinker with my long game
  10. yknow, I figured out a big problem of mine was poor setup (my feet were standing open while I was aiming properly -- I was setting up for a very hard fade)...something I never really figured out without spending time with a shaft at my feet at the range making sure my feet didn't stand open. something to try, at least. it was a combination of common slice causes (cupping wrists, lack of release, weak grip, etc) that caused mine.
  11. ap2 irons for $330? yeah, right.
  12. what's up with the literary analysis a month after the previous post was made
  13. ive seen some new 4dx hybrids on the internet for $50...i want to hit them before I decide, but I think I might replace my fairway woods with them (granted, i've never hit a hybrid before, but from what everyone is saying they will do nicely. that's why i want to hit them first) might just try to scope some 980F titleist fairway woods off of ebay, though, I haven't decided yet. hope you enjoy your new hybrid :)
  14. some reading and 2 buckets of range balls fixed my slice. to each, their own
  15. really? i didn't know you could add length (im guessing it's probably under the grip where length is added) without re-shafting. neat. i'll have to go get fitted when I get some time :)
  16. your first putt is stroke 5. not really sure what was so difficult to figure out. if you hit a ball OB, you have to hit a provisional ball and add a penalty stroke. it's like adding 2 strokes to your score before you've even hit the ball in the first place (before you hit it OB)
  17. is there any chance someone could make a carbite logo? thank you :)
  18. i've had a few people pick up my balls when i've driven into them without seeing (both were doglegs or had areas cut into the trees - i didn't know there was a group in front of me, so I tee'd off, they picked up my ball, i asked them if they saw it and both times i was told they didn't )...if you're mad enough to do that, you should just approach them about it and don't pull a juvenile move like taking their ball
  19. hahaha, i think you might be right.
  20. I wish I had the money to have my clubs re-shafted to my height...6'4" and play standard club length...I have to bend over quite a bit (my legs are pretty normal) and feel goofy. I think that's gonna be my next 'club upgrade'
  21. it has to do with the bounce cut into the sole of the club. that's what makes sand wedges different than other wedges
  22. i've met one of my goals this year, I shortened my backswing and learned to turn my wrists and release through impact, turning my 20 yard slice into a 5 yard fade.
  23. exactly...i was playing with a buddy yesterday who's around a 5 hdcp, and he was pushing every drive 20 yards right, shanking irons, missing putts all day. he pitched in from 30 yards on the 18th hole....that's the sort of thing that keeps you coming back for more :D as for me, I drive two short par 4's...that has me excited enough to keep playing this game :D
  24. i think that has more to do with phil's love of choke artistry, and less to do with his putting skill.
  25. i really only golfed there because fees were so cheap...saw it on golfnow.com cog hill's 1 and 3 are next and i don't get the chance to golf too much, so i probably won't make it back up elgin way again :(
