Nike combo waterproof rain hood with reversible cotton towel on the inside. Only used this once before getting a new bag that had a rain hood accessory. Has a zipper that allows hood to be fully opened to use as a towel, or can zip it closed to drape over clubs while walking/riding in rain. When zipped up, it measures 20" x 20" Unzipped, measures 40" x 20" Here's a link to the actual product page at Nike.com http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?cp=usns_CSE_081109_Froogle&l;=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-404198/pgid-404198&CAWELAID;=1077202581 $25 including shipping

My friend enjoyed playing at The Oaks Golf Club (about 20 mins from Diamondhead) Shell Landing is a good course, but I think it runs around $80. Grand Bear in Biloxi is a solid course (Jack Nicklaus design). It's pricier, but the price on their site includes a golf cart. If you walk, maybe it's cheaper. If you wanna blow your wad (money!) on one course instead of a couple, check out Fallen Oaks (http://www.fallenoak.com/) Check out this site here http://www.golfcoast.com/ They'll list all the courses on the coast, with some reviews/pics/links and maybe some prices (or at least, links to prices)

Made this for a friend

What are the best ways to clean a golf bag? I'm not talking about mud or dust, but the thing just smells. You know, that post-golf FUNK. It's that same smell in your clothes... rain gear... etc. I've played a handful of rounds in the rain lately as well, so maybe that has something to do with it. I've read water + vinegar... or, water + oxi clean? What's the best way of getting INSIDE the bag (walking bag)? Is it best to just air dry? Just want the dang thing to smell better, lol

My putting has been atrocious lately (severe lack of practice), so I'm interested to see where this thread goes... because my thoughts have been raging!

Trying to go play today, but all of the courses are frozen

Debating whether to play or not tomorrow. Have the day off from work, but supposed to be a high of 34. Sunny, but cold. Hmmm. Ok, I'll play.

I loathe tour wraps, but it's all about personal preference. They slip way too easily in my hands, I can't hold onto them to save my life. My hands get really sweaty though. Prefer the velvets or the velvets with cords.

Looks good. What kind of paint did you use? Was looking at retouching my old Titleist DCI Black irons for kicks
-
Filmed my swing the other night, noticed my clubface is REALLY closed at the top, and that my grip is way too strong. Also that my head moves a lot on my downswing through impact. Getting out to the range tomorrow to work on those 3 things and see if I can stop hooking or pushing the ball ;)

Goodbye Ping Hoofer Bags
Chubbs replied to deronsizemore's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I like Ping bags, but yes, the leg hangdown has always bugged me. I can't count how times one of those has gotten caught up in my pant leg. -
I have the previous verison of these. Work fine. I would hit a few practice shots on the range with them (even if it's not cold) just to sort of get used to the feeling of wearing two gloves instead of one.

Are 52*/60s all that useful all the time?
Chubbs replied to JML22's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i played only a 56* for about 15 years. Over the past year, I've incorporated both a 52 and a 60 into my bag, and love both clubs. Since I played only a 56 for so long, I was able to learn to hit a very wide range of shots with it... All of which can now be used on both 52 and 60 to achieve varying results. I think my biggest gain so far has been the 52, bc it bridges the gap so nicely between the PW and SW. The 60 is fun, but I can still achieve similar shots and results with a tricky 56 when I want to (still don't have the confidence in the 60 as I do the 56 bc of experience) -
Practice rounds with every other club in the bag.

Heh, you must have me confused for someone else? -
His stance is a "little" narrow for a wedge or a 9-iron. But bordering on "much" for a driver (or whatever wood is being hit in the vid)

My buddy's worst shot of the week was when he set up on the tee box on a par 5, gives it a mighty swing, and the balls barely rolls off the tee and between his legs.
-
Glad you're seeing results with the weight shift! Sounds like you're on the right track. The heel raise will take care of itself if you are concentrating on shifting your weight correctly, so don't let your foot worry you. Just keep on with what you're doing, good work.

Drove the green on a par 4 (335 yds). While it was actually my best shot of the week, I had no intention of hitting it that far and I almost hit a really sweet old lady standing on the green waiting on her partner to putt. I felt like a total dick.

Chubbs replied to xxsoultonesxx's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
While it's fun to take clubs out and it makes it more of a challenge, if I'm walking I always like to play with a full bag (even if i never touch half the clubs) and a bag weight that is normal, so that when I play a real round, I don't get tired on hole 13 bc I'm not used to carrying that much weight... therefore affecting my swing.
