OHHHHH, sorry blond moment, I had Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup mixed up. You are indeed right Sergio is ineligible to play at this tournament. As for Adam Scott, maybe this chance given to him by Norman will get his game back on track.
I cannot believe that Adam Scott was picked for the team. He has done zip all year and Sergio who has been playing better this last month was left off.
I've noticed that there have been only a few players this year that have been consistent with their game, Alvaro Quiros comes to mind. There were players that started off hot, like Ogilvy, O'Hair and Stenson but have faded in the last few months. What is the true measure of a successful year for a player, a big win then not much or playing consistently good golf in a very competitive player pool?
This is fabulous! Yang went out there and gave Tiger respect but approached this round as if he was playing with any other golfer. Congrats to him, he deserves it.
I missed today's round and just saw the scores, all I can say is f*** Sergio Garcia. He has really pissed me off all year. He needs to decide if he is going to get serious about this game he professes to love so much. I really think the next year is his make it or brake it year. Ryder Cup is in 2010 maybe that will get his ass in gear.
Tiger wants to win, all the time, he has extremely high standards for himself. That being said he is also an admitted control freak. He is no different than any other guy on the tour except his behaviour gets passed over in the press more often. He has probably cleaned up his mouth alot because he does have young children now. That changes you.
I really had to do a double take when looking at the players who missed the cut. Woods, Duval, Scott, Kim, Faldo, Poulter and then someone like Casey who barely hung on to make the cut.
This is why the PGA is fabulous, not just because of Tiger but because of
this
intangible thing. Who knows who will win. I can't believe Adam Scott missed the cut, back to square one it seems for him.
I think he game is slowing coming around. He and Sergio are so similar with their problems. Both are great strikers, both are shaky with their putting.
