  1. The golf club certainly doesn't condone urinating on the properties that line the course. You are going to rat out renegade pissers if you're caught stealing? LOL... If I looked out the window and saw someone peeing in my yard, I'd be having words with that chap.
  2. It bothers me as well. This is maybe the only sport that requires the player to keep his own score and record it in good faith. The very basis of scoring requires players to be honest. Tell you what. Go to the clubhouse tomorrow morning and tell the pro that you aced number eleven last night after the course was closed, and you want your name on the plaque behind the counter. He'll either congratulate you or he'll cuss you out. There really isn't an in-between on this one.
  3. That really is beautiful scenery. Sometimes I wonder if having year-round golf in Texas is worth not seeing those red and yellow leaves in the fall. Yeah. It's worth it.
  4. Morality transcends law. Plenty of things are morally irresponsible but not illegal. It comes down to right and wrong. Really, it's that simple. It's not right to take something that isn't yours. It's wrong. This is very much a black and white issue. If you don't mind doing something wrong, then do it. But don't rationalize. Enjoy the thrill. Fairways and greens.
  5. This isn't a question of ethics; it's a question of moral responsibility. If you are okay with the idea of being morally irresponsible, then sneak onto the course and play a few holes.
  6. YES! I thought'd I'd misheard him, that maybe he'd said shanky or lanky...even spanky would have been better than "skanky." What a goof.
  7. - no glove when putting. - wedding ring off. - collar flipped up.
  8. Johnny Miller is to golf what Joe Morgan is to baseball. They both: 1) consider their own talents superior to the talent of today's athletes. 2) are bitter because they are constantly reminded that #1 is false. 3) say stupid crap. 4) negate the talent of their booth partners because they say so much stupid crap. 5) are smug. 6) have moments when they don't make any sense. Oh, I guess that's the same as "they say stupid crap."
  9. Driver 250-270 3 Wood 215 4 Iron 200 5 Iron 185 6 Iron 175 7 Iron 165 8 Iron 150 9 Iron 140 PW 125 Two weeks ago, I drove the ball 290+ yards in the fairway twice in the same round, but I was really aiming to crush the ball (trying to drive the green in one case). The distances above are accurate for a normal day, relaxed swing, etc. Yesterday, I had to hit a 5-iron on a 160-yard par 3 because of an insane wind in my face (still only got it to the front fringe). To that end, who plays golf in a vacuum anyway?
  10. I yell "fore" just to see if anyone ducks.
  11. I don't really have a "home" course, but I've played these two more often than others: http://www.beaconlakesgolf.com http://www.golfcrestcountryclub.com/index.php
