  1. The problem with my co-worker is that he is 14 handy capper. He usually shoots in the 90's and sometime in the 80's. He does not have the game to get angry for every bad shot he makes. He probably has more bad shots than good shots.
  2. There is nothing worse than playing with a person who cusses and slams the clubs on the ground after hitting a bad shot. Makes everyone in the group feel uncomfortable. I played a round yesterday with a co-worker of mine for the first time, and he would cuss up a storm, slam the club on the ground and toss the club whenever he hit a bad shot. I told him to cool it as it was making others feel uncomfortable, but he said he needs to vent or his game will get worse. Well, you guessed it. His game got worse anyway. That will be the last time I play with that person.
  3. It varies. Usually run 5 mile/day 5 days a week and switch that off with 2 mile swim/day 5 days per week or a combination of 2 mile swim/day and 5 mile run/day 5 days per week. Of course, 18 holes of golf at least once a week (walking).
  4. Traded in my 1991 Toyota 4-Runner (290K miles, but still going strong) for 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser two years ago. FJ Cruiser could use a little for cargo space and a lot less blind spot.
  5. If you have an iphone or a smart phone, you can get apps. for golf course gps which will be a lot cheaper than SkyCaddie, et al.
  6. Don't mean to dis you or anything like that, but with 36 handicap I would have thought you would be using any golfball not a new one to begin each round. I have 12.9 handicap and I don't use a new golfball during a casual round.
  7. It all depends on whether you are having a major overhaul of your swing or just tweaking the swing you had. Even Tiger took 2 years to change his swing. So don't expect a quick turn around. If you are just tweaking your swing, you should be getting better within a few months. If you are changing your swing, expect at least a few years before seeing results. That is why for weekend hackers, it is important to find a pro who can work with the swing you have rather than trying to completely overhaul your swing.
  8. Only one thing that will ruin the other guys playing--not knowning the etiquette. As long as you know the etiquette and keep up with the pace of play, he should have no problem. I played with a lot of newbies, and I actually enjoy it as long as they know the rules, etiquettes and keep up the pace. I don't care how good or bad they are, the times I did not like playing with someone is when that person does not know the etiquette and is SLOW!!!
