  1. My buddy was dealing with the same thing (straight as an arrow, but high in the sky) and he thought he'd go with a stiffer shaft as well...but after the club fitter and all the gurus looked at the swing, etc, it was determined that a different kick point was needed, not a diff stiffness. He ended up with Grafalloy (sp?) and he likes them. Heh, I thought we were the only two guys with graphite in our irons, I guess you are the 3rd. Let us know what you end with, I am certainly curious bout the results.
  2. I hate it when I pick my bag up (its a stand bag) and the spring loaded legs grab a hold of my calf. :) Thankfully that is only at the local par 3 that I have to carry and put the thing down repeatedly. Otherwise its safely in the cart of course.
  3. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. It seems (and who knows maybe outside of TX its not that way) that at every larger golf store, they have logo overrun bins full of NXTs and NXT Exptremes (amongst DT Rolls, etc). These look brand new to me...they just have random charity, corporate, and club logos on them. A dozen for 14 dollars at my local PGA superstore if I am not mistaken. My friends play nothing but these logo overruns and are very happy, and have much lower handicaps than I. Me...I won a crate of Srixons at a company luncheon and am still playing those. Sorry...couldn't help but brag of my good fortune :)
  4. I was hitting balls this AM and a guy was asking questions about how I liked my Nickent hybrid and so forth (hard to miss the head cover is Poison green) and he mentioned something 'bout thinking it was a smaller Japanese company. He said that the name sounded sort of like a Japanese brand, and I guess it sort of does. Anyways, I told him that I was fairly sure it was an American company...but what I didn't know was what the name's origins actually are. Not really important or anything, but I'm just really curious. Anyone out there work for the company, have sponsorship, or have any insight, etc?
  5. I know what I don't do...and that's talk about work or the girlfriend.
  6. I've used rentals at a little pitch and putt place, and they were top flites. They seemed okay to me...although I only used the 9 iron and PW. If there is nothing used that strikes your fancy, you'll probably be okay with those I'm willing to bet. Top FLite balls though...YUCK!
  7. call me crazy, but jack is more fun to watch.
  8. http://www.golflbhouston.com/golf/proto/golflbhouston/ Ah, my good ole'm municipal home course (10 minutes from apt). It is, to quote a gentleman paired up with us, like golfing in Bagdhad (gun range next door). Lots of 'pot holes' in the fairways too. But hey, its GOOD GOOD fun and easy to access! As a little side question to all Dallas folks...has anyone ever been to that specific gun range? And do they have a really tall berm? I hope so, as I'd hate for bullets to go wizzing past me as I putt!
  9. Just joined today and wanted to say hi, and of course let all the forum folks know I USED to be a Corporate Recruiter at a very large High Technology OEM but got laid off in April 09. Anyways...it actually helps to know that I'm not the only one that got sucked up by this lousy economy. Oh well...sure leaves plenty of time for GOLF!
