  1. Its interesting, before LIV I never actively rooted against any golfer. I didn't hope someone would miss the cut. I didn't hope someone would miss a putt, or hit a ball in the water, or make any sort of mistake. There were guys I didn't like as much (Sergio and Patrick Reed headlined that list, so I guess they're my villains?), but I never specifically hoped they'd fail. I'd hope other guys would do better, I always had the mindset that golf was hard, mistakes hurt, and it always felt wrong to try to will that on someone else. Now with the LIV guys, I don't seem to have that mindset anymore. I don't send ill will towards any OTHER guys, but I absolutely found myself rooting against them. May they all get an infinite supply of fried eggs in bunkers
  2. I've been playing around with the ability to share rounds....I know it was mentioned before that you can share a piece of your round on social media - either selected stats, an individual hole, or your scorecard, but couldn't share the entire round. It'd be great if there was a way to simply share directly, but I did at least find a way to view other peoples rounds. Useful as people are getting set up and getting used to the device or looking for feedback. Assuming you know the name, and where the person played, you should be able to view any round from someone else. Under the desktop dashboard, go to Explore, then search for the golf course the person played and click View. That brings up the course home page, including all recent rounds played on that course. Now, as the golfer, I did have to click share on course hub when I signed off on my round, but in doing so I made it so anyone can see my round. Now that you're on the course home page, you can dive directly into that person's round, and get their hole by hole/shot by shot info from that round. So, for instance, if anyone wanted to see my last round played, go to Explore, search for Blackheath Golf Club, and you'll find my round on there to see the entire thing. Further, if you click on my name, you'd be able to see all the rounds I've played, assuming I've shared to the course hub. I didn't see any of this shared previously, so just wanted to put it out there as I know there had been a handful of questions, from myself included, about how to mark things, so at least here is a workaround way to see an entire round as people are figuring it out, or to simply share moving forward. I found it somewhat interesting/annoying that while you clearly can go see all of someone's rounds this way by clicking their name under explore....you can not do the same thing through Leaderboards. Also once you're diving into someone's name or specific round, URL's do not change so you can't simply pull that out to share it, but at least a workaround still.
  3. Another guy going back on his word. Seems like he was just saying

  5. Max has you covered
  6. Thats how I read most of it...it was at least vetted/edited by them. I don't think I've ever heard the term "force for good" commonly used before LIV, and now every single statement from a player leaving casually uses that language in their statement
  7. Stenson's response to losing his captaincy and joining LIV
  8. I would agree with this. There is plenty of time before the Ryder Cup so losing Stenson truly shouldn't impact anything. It just stands out because LIV presumably spent upwards of $10 million to add Stenson, who doesn't seem to add much to their side, but arguably takes something significant away from the other side. End of the day, I'd agree there isn't a long term impact by this, merely an observation about their possible motivations
  9. He does fit the mold, but thats kind of my point. They're not reaching out to bring in someone who is going to move the needle a ton, it seems like they're reaching out to bring in the guy who will disrupt the other side the most. They already have plenty of guys like Stenson, they have already replaced guys higher in the OWGR. Unless they are completely trying to say "look how many former major winners we have" Stenson isn't adding a whole lot. It feels like a calculated move to either force a hand in letting LIV guys into the Ryder Cup, or disrupt it as much as possible
  10. So with the Stenson announcement now official, he has officially been removed as Europe's Ryder Cup captain. Gotta ask the question....does LIV see Henrik Stenson as a big name to bring in, one who at his current performance level will raise the bar for the entire league? Someone fans will be lining up to see, will grow their brand, and make their product better? Or did they simply want to take a swing at the Ryder Cup? Henrik Stenson out as Ryder Cup captain, with sources confirming he will join LIV Golf Henrik Stenson will no longer serve as Europe's Ryder Cup captain, with sources confirming to ESPN that he is preparing to join LIV Golf.
  11. Seems to be understood Cam Smith will play the FedEx Cup before making a decision on LIV. Not a done deal, hopefully sees some reason. British Open 2022: Ian Baker-Finch says Cameron Smith should create a legacy, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Open Championship, St Andrews, video, highlights Aussie great urges Smith to snub $130m LIV deal in ‘great legacy’ warning
  12. These two things don't add up, does he know who he would be working for? Charles Barkley wins the internet with his support for gay & trans people "If anybody gives you s**t, you tell 'em, Barkley said, ‘F**k you!'" The former NBA superstar told the crowd attending
  13. oh my god....please stop. if you can't understand the difference between a company who does a small portion of their business in the Middle East being 1 out of 8 sponsors of the British Open, and the actual government of Saudi Arabia single-handedly financing and operating the entire LIV operation, there isn't much conversation to be had
  14. Come on, there are already literally dozens of guys on Tour that have turned it down. Just because some people would turn a blind eye to what it represents doesn't mean everyone would
  15. The morality piece can not be completely ignored when you're literally talking about the people who own the entire thing. Huge difference between that and anything else. But I don't care to go down that rabbit hole again any further and can comment only on the format from here on. First, LIV has pro ams too. Second, the reduced schedule is in no way a positive to me. There are already plenty of events on the PGA Tour that bring all the big names out in addition to Majors and the Players - Memorial, Arnold Palmer, Genesis, Wells Fargo, all the Tour Playoffs....just to name a few. The big names don't HAVE to play every week, and they don't, but there are plenty of times to see them all in the same tournament, and having weekly tournaments is infinitely better for the fan even if there are weaker fields in there as well. And finally, I would never see a shotgun start as a positive in any round. You alluded to it in the bad as well, and thats the only point I think that should be made on shotguns. Someone starting a round on the Bear Trap vs. ending there changes so much, and anyone trying to follow a leaderboard can not easily tell if they have easy holes upcoming or about to enter a difficult stretch. Two guys could be through 16 holes and 3 strokes apart, but could swing wildly just because of what holes they haven't played yet. So much harder to follow as a fan. Yes. Also add in no cuts, players paid before even showing up, multi-year contacts provide little incentive to perform well....this list can keep going. They've spent 9 figures bringing certain guys in on multi-year deals, I can't imagine they'd ever risk their golden geese being relegated. I don't see it having a positive impact on golf in the future, and I certainly don't want to see any partnering events with the PGA Tour. From a purely format standpoint, I don't like anything about the LIV, and if its going to exist I'd prefer it to exist like the XFL did to the NFL. Let me ignore it completely if I choose and don't overlap at all.
  16. I always figured the next big exodus would be following the British Open now that all majors for the year are done. Cam Smith would be the first true blow, first guy that I'd truly be disappointed to see go that direction. Hopefully it's not true, id probably be annoyed if it was brought up at my Major winning press conference as well, but his response left the door wide open. I've also heard rumors about Cantlay and Finau...but hard to tell what's real and what is just people spouting names at opportune moments to get attention
  17. Gotta wonder how much LIV paid him to try to sell shotgun starts during a major If I ever see a shotgun in a major, I hope its being used to keep Greg Norman off the property
  18. Ah, ok, in there it's got 22 Strokes counted....so I assume that's my 9 actual approaches, 2 positional over 9 holes doubled for a "per 18 hole" calculation
  19. Overview, I didn't see a total strokes taken on the strokes gained tab, but on overview my total approaches went from 11 to 9 after plugging in the two positional
  20. Very small sample size, but in my 9 hole round as my first use with the H4, I didn't initially mark any positional shots and my stats had 11 approaches. When I went through and put in positional, there were only 2, and both were shots over 200 away from the green, my Approaches changed to 9.
  21. Talor Gooch learning consequences:
  22. One more question after going through my stats....is it normal to have multiple "up and down" attempts per hole if I screw up a chip? There were a couple holes that I did not land my pitch or chip on the green, and had to follow up with another one. It appears it took both strokes as an "up and down" attempt statistically. Right now my greens in regulation plus up-and-down attempts equals 12 through 9 holes played. Maybe I'm not understanding this stat properly, is this a per shot statistic instead of a per hole statistic? I know its generally recorded as getting down in 2 shots from not being on the green, but I also always thought this could only be done a maximum once per hole, from your first shot around the green after missing GIR. Does every single chip create its own unique up and down attempt? In my cases, I messed up my first chip, still off the green, then chipped onto the green, then two putted. It recorded this as 0 for 2 in up and down. If I had messed up my first chip, then chipped again, then one putted, would that correctly be 1 for 2 up and down? Hypothetically, if I messed up a chip, then chipped again and it went in, did I just go 2 for 2 up and down?
  23. Oh, wait....so if I'm not specifically marking my second shot on par 5's as positional, will that screw up my approach data? My most common scenario on a par 5 is to have a full shot on my second shot, but not going for the green. I'd like that data to count towards club data, but obviously don't want it to be seen negatively on approach data. It sounds like I either need to mark it as positional and lose the club data for that shot, or have inaccurate approach stats? Or how about this specific situation from my 9-hole round. I smacked the top of a tree on my tee shot on a par 4 and it dropped straight down. Rather than going for the green on my next shot, I used a full wedge to lay up short of the water. Is this the same as playing out sideways when my drive goes in trouble, even though I used a full swing, because I didn't attempt to go for the green? I did mark this one as positional, I guess I didn't realize I'd lose club data even on full swings in these scenarios....is what it is I guess, but at least want to make sure I'm using it properly.
  24. Great, certainly would be interested in discussion. Seems like there are 13 teams regularly submitting rosters in the current league, and maybe some more guys here that didn't get involved due to either app functionality or format? Certainly a decent base group to grow from
  25. 3 different groups getting at least 14 birdies and 4 eagles? Maybe I'm underestimating the advantage given from the forward tees, but I'd think even a PGA Tour foursome would struggle to do better than that. This is wholesome. Great story.
