Just pulled off my grips and have a question...
Zack replied to Zack's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Weave, This is exactly was I was trying to explain. I am glad to hear that you came across the same stickiness/wetness that I saw when removing the grips. One of my wedge grips that was a Tacki-Mac would twist a little bit. I'm glad to get these off my clubs and go back to golf pride. Thanks everyone who posted in this thread. I appreciate it! Zack -

Possibly since this solvent has petroleum naptha which is from oil. The description says it is used for solvent activating strips which I did use. Why do you ask if was oil-based? Here is what I used and the description from golf galaxy... This economical solvent activates all solvent-activated tapes. Excellent for easy, efficient grip installation and shaft cleanup. Available in quart and gallon cans. -

Hey guys, so at the end of February I put on the new Tacki Mac grips on my wedges. I was not to thrilled with them so tonight I took off the grips to put on my new golf pride grips. When I took off those grips, the adhesive still looked fresh and was wet. I had noticed that there was adhesive/glue coming out of the hole of the grip as well since February. That seemed odd to me since I have never had that happen to me before. I have never had this issue with other clubs I have re-gripped, only with the Tacki Mac's. Do you think that the grip was not bonding with the adhesive? Or is there something I am doing wrong? I am a little worried now and don't want to mess up my new golf pride grips, ha. Thanks, Zack -

Here are some pics I took. There are some ball marks on top of the scratches from being at the range the other day. The scratches are pretty obvious when you are looking at the club. I don't even know how I got so many scratches on this club. Geez. Hope this helps! -

It's hard to tell from that picture, but I wonder if those checkered pieces are those foam pieces you can use for your garage or basement. But from the view of that house/room, they probably have something a little nicer, ha ha.

Last summer I bought some Nike pro combo irons and thought I could hit them. Well, I was completely wrong. I ended up getting the X-24's and love them. The mishits fly far and the distance on them is great. I probably won't be getting a new set of irons for a long time. I feel like these clubs can take me a long way with my game. I've had nothing but good experiences so far with them. -
In reply to wrx_junki Right now, I am not that great at golf. So to have a 2 hybrid and 3 hybrid doesn't make sense for me, since I really would not see yardage differences between the two. Or even having a 4 iron since I have a hard enough time hitting my 5 iron. Right now, I use my driver, and then a lot of the time, use my hybrid for my second shot and wedge for my third shot. I just use the 3 hybrid because I can hit it somewhat well. Hopefully one day, I will have a more "standard" bag! :)

Added some new wedges and hybrid over the winter. Should be done for this year.

I like the sticker on the driver. That looks awesome! I'm going to have to copy your style and do that to mine.

They definitely look cool! You'll have to let us know how they perform.

I would buy the cheaper car and save the rest of the money. Why make your expenses tighter over a car? It's just a car.

Using a 60* wedge to hit out of the sand
Zack replied to Zack's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Thanks for the replies! The bounce on the 60* is 10*. Should work find then. Most of the sand I play out of is soft. Last year I really only found myself using the 56* out of the bunker. I am not that great of a player to begin with so my sand shots were pretty bad. I just kind of felt like I really did not need the 56*. I will use the 52* and 60* set up and see how that goes. Thanks again guys! -
Hello everyone, I have a quick question. Is it ok to use a 60* wedge out of the greenside bunkers, or should you always use a wedge that is closely lofted to a sand wedge? I don't know if the loft of a 60* wedge will create any issues with hitting out of the bunker? I'm asking because I am getting some new wedges. I already bought the 60* and was thinking that if I get a 52* wedge, I might be fine with just those two wedges. My pw is 45* so I would be around 7 to 8 degrees between each wedge. I also do not mind taking a 3/4 swing with my 52* to get the distance I would need with my 56*. Thanks guys!

I think they look awesome. They would look even better without that Razr symbol but then they would almost be the exact same thing as the previous gen prototypes.

I just ordered a Tacki Mac Itomic grip for my new wedge. Can't wait to check out the new grip! -
I got a $25 gift card to the driving range, and a sleeve of pro-v1's. I also got a really nice winter dress coat.

Dancin Dogg Optishot simulator
Zack replied to mtsalmela80's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I know it says you can use your clubs without taping them, but when I would use my driver, it would not register at all. Once I taped my driver, it worked perfectly. -

I love my opti-shot golf simulator. I am a high handicapper and the simulator has helped me with my swing. You need to set it up properly for it to work well. Once I entered in all the specs of my clubs, it has worked so much better. Also, I taped my woods and hybrids with black electricians tape and put on the reflective strips on the bottom of the club and that made a huge difference. I also have the strips on the bottom of my irons/ wedges as well. I mostly use the driving range the most. It's just so nice to be able to hit some golf balls in the winter and see where they go. The mat is heavy duty and feel like I can hit it with a baseball bat and none of the sensors will break. -
Callaway Shop Question (Iron Sets)
Zack replied to VagabondV's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Ya, I think they have sales for the pre-owned site. Actually, I think I just got an e-mail today that they are having a sale on the pre-owned site. I doubt the new clubs you can order from their normal site are ever on sale. Zack -

I think those TM irons look nice. -
I'm salary so any extra time I put in at the office doesn't make me more money. So I would rather be enjoying myself outside of work!

Looks good, I like it!
