I feel for your Mom, so close, hope things work out for her, as i hope for my son as well. Iam picking up a 2nd job, his monthy payment is 1000 dollars a month. I know its going to be tough, and iam going to have to budget alot better now, but iam not letting quit. Again I wish your Mother the Best?

I realise this has nothing to due with Golf, I just needed to Vent, My Son Is in his final year of collage (Purdue), state school here in Indiana. Well myself and my wife are both High school Grads and that was as far as we went, and both have jobs, decent jobs nothing your going to get rich at, but able to keep a roof over are heads and so on. But we both wanted our Son to go to Collage. Well we have always filled out the Fasta papers and we both make to much for any help. My son has always gotten a Student Loan, well this year his final year and unable to get a Loan. We recived are letter today saying that the loans were being reveiwed, and felt that they were stoping Student loans. Ya well i bet if we were on food stamps and did'nt owne are Home you could get all the help you needed. I'll tell you this contry has turned my stomach. I called the loan department and talked to a ladie that was as nice as pie, and i relise its not her fault. But i started to vent to her and thought to myself, why be a Buthead to her. So i hung up and hit the wall, and now i think i my have broke my Hand. I kept telling myself why are they doing this to my Son, His last year of school.... Iam sorry to Bore you with this stuff, i just had to vent to someone, and my congressman and State Rep is out probably on a 3 month Vacation, and when he gets back will probably give himslf a raise?which i have'nt had in 9 years, And then they wounder why folks go POSTAL. maybe tomorrow will be better. I just wanted a better life for my son to futher his Education which his mother and i never had, and now that seem to fading. 1 more year to go? just one...... upset here in Indiana Dave

All i can say is i have torn my R/knee (ACL) twice, just 10 years apart. It will get better trust me, although i have alot of pain with mine due to Artritis and my age, I have to have a total knee repacement, Next

I have a Hook as well, and i've tried changing my hands, rotating my top hand more to the center of the Shaft, showing more knuckles? Never tried keeping the R/elbow tight to the body. When you say check your swing plane what does that mean, and check your point of contact? I also tried to compensate with droping the L/foot, opening up, But like someone that seem to be a Bandaid.

Iam going to Golf Galaxy to get fitted, Iam playing with Cleveland clubs now about 15 years old, the only other clubs i have hit are ping Eye 2's, As for online to see whats out there where do you mean? Budget 350/400 dollars. Qustion for the rest of you iam nt sure i follow you? Iam trying to learn the game and have fun when i play, as for getting better i feel iam its just alot to learn.

Clearwaterms i never said i was 36 handicap? Nowhere in my post does it say anything about Handicap?

Well iam sure everybody has a opnion as which club to buy, but i was at a friends house today, and for weeks he's been telling me to buy a Good set, Well when i told him i had the ok to purchase a set, he was trying to get me to buy a set of old Ping stiff shafts, that looked like they were well used. I said i thought you said buy a Nice New set, and he said these are? Now that i got the go ahead he does'nt want me to buy a better set of irons then him, Plus i said i want to get fitted, he said you really dont need to be fitted, they'll just try and sell you a more expense set of Irons? Man iam confused Now? Aim going down to be fitted friday, and take a look at what they have anyways.

Iam trying to find a answer to a qustion on shafts, graphite, Steel, flex shafts, Iam 50 years old and iam still pretty active. And in te market for a new set of Irons, just trying to decide on the shafts, Can someone explain the options.....

(Leo3) arthritis is the big problem with my knee's as i have had two major surgery's on my right Knee, and have very little cartliage in there, But after getting shots in my Knee, so far so good, the Knee is holding up well, but cool morning and rainy days is a different story. I plan on taking a good look at the graphite shafts, On my driver i have a graphite shaft, and after getting used to it i love it, I did have to change a few things on my swing nothing major, just seemed that i was slicing drives, But i also noticed i gained alittle more distance appx 25/30 yards, and with a little fade also.

Hello, As i stated aim 50 years old, and have barrowed clubs this season, well its time to break down and pull the trigger. Iam very active and have picked up the game quickly and paly about 3 times a week, and spend about 4 hours a week at the range also, its like i have found a new Love. The wife is going to buy me mine own set of clubs(Irons) as i have a new driver (TaylorMade), and new putter(Cleveland), But my qustion is do i want a steel shaft for my Irons, or ? She said i cold spend around $500, I want to get a set that i will be happy with for a few years and become better. Should i go and be fitted at a proshop, There's a Golf Galaxy and GolfSmith, just down the road, but there are some Great prices on Ebay As well. Help.Help. Dave

Hello, Iam very new to this site, and read and askalot of qustions. Iam getting started alot later then most of you all, aim 50 years old and just feel in Love with the game. I picked up a set of clubs from a friend, there an old set of Cleveland clubs. I just started playing in early April (cold as Hell out then), and was shooting in the 100's and i have played probably 100 games since, I just broke into a new Number the other day shot a Best 89. I was decent in sports in school, so i picked up the game quite quickly, and LOVE the game, My brother is a low handi capper, and he's help alot. Would love to hook up and play sometime just hollar........

Not to Hijack your thread, But i to have a problem with my irons as well, in the fairway also, Off the tee iam golden! It becomes a mental thing, i always here pinch the ball, as iam not real sure what they mean by that phrase, then i find myself trying to lift the ball, instead of letting the club do the work. I spent the day yesterday at the range hitting my Irons, and think iam getting better, just need to hit about 100,000 more balls.... I do think range work helps alot, but find myself wanting to play golf instead of praticeing at the Range......

This seemed to help me, show more Knuckles on my top Hand. rotating the hand more to the center of club, plus play the ball futher back in my stance. Plus i was standing to close to the ball, so as to which one helped i cant say as i did all 3 and i was cured, as of now.

Hello, Iam getting started alot later then most on here with the game of golf, Iam 50, And have never had a nice set of clubs, just using a barrowed set as of now, Cleveland Irons, and a TaylorMade Driver R-6. I would like to purchase a new set of Irons, as i like the driver alot and hitting it well (240 yards) with a slight fade. I guess my qustion is can i find a decent set of clubs off ebay, or should i go to a proshop, and be fitted, iam only 30 minutes from Golf Galaxy, and Golfsmith, and Dicks. Iam not sure about the shafts either stiff shafts or flex? Sorry for the dumb qustion i just thought i would ask for your expertise and help, i really have no one to ask other than you all here.

Iam getting started late in life, iam 50 and have just found this Great Game of Golf, I have alot to learn, and iam playing 3 times a week, Wife loves that? My qustion is iam hitting the ball Great off the tee, about 240 yards with a slight Fad, but iam always trying different things like my stance from the ball, is there a certain distance. I know your probably thinking keep doing what your doing, I just feel like iam overextened at times?

Well its sure is nice to have a Local Golf course, I only have to drive 3 minutes and iam there... This course was taken over by a few guys, last year and they are getting it back, into shape, before it was CC and i belive fell on hard times, and the course got away from them.
