  1. I bought a few dozen of the U-Tri tours about a month ago. They also carry Maxfli BlackMax balls as well but not as cheap.
  2. There are a few senarios that I would first ask. Put them in the same time with the same technology and the same age and who would be better? I am leaning towards Jack Is the competition tougher than when Jack was in his prime? I have no idea, anyone? I've read many say that TW is in an athelete and better shape but the courses are MUCH longer than they used to be in Jacks prime and who says Jack wasn't in shape or as good a shape. I think this is a non-factor I wasn't around when Jack was in his prime so I think it is very difficult to say.
  3. I am totally surprised, I think most responses have been rediculous. How can you put a label on brands that you've never even used? Nike, garbage, have you even tried them? Tiger and others don't use them JUST because they get paid to. I like some Nike clubs but not others. I like some Titleist clubs but not others and so on and so on. So you think Callaway sucks? Or Nike, or Cleveland? Is that because you read other peoples reviews or personal experience? What would happen if you tried them and loved them, would you not use them because of a precincieved notion.
  4. Yeah, for some reason I just didn't realize that was the case, my mistake, that is a legit.
  5. If you look at the leader board Woods is listed in the third position behind Rose although they are both tied for 2nd. Eventhough they are both tied don't you think Rose should be in the last pairing? We all know that most of the Masters winners have been in the last pairing of the day and are they putting Woods in the last pairing because they want to make it more dramatic for TV? I don't know about most of you, but I am a little disturbed about this and think they should have been paired as the leader board shows. Seems they are trying to stick to tradition of the winner being the last pairing and putting Woods in it seems unfair and I am a Woods fan. I know that I may be just statistics but it is as much a mental game and I think this could favor Woods. Any thoughts on this? Am I making too much of an issue?
  6. Why? I think Nike is starting to come into their own more and more each year. Tiger + Nike = $100 Million over five years, thats why. And rest assured his clubs are not off the rack Nikes.
  7. Same here. Love it!
  8. My opinon is that I don't think that they don't like eachother but I think Phil has some jelousy because he was the boy wonder out of college and couldn't close the deal until many years later. I think Tiger felt that resentment when he was coming up winning all those tournaments.
  9. I use the +1, -1, E etc. It does make it easier to add. If I was to play in a tournament then yes I write it the "correct" way to not get disqualified.
  10. I think it all depends. Some courses there isn't much of a difference 10 yards or so. If that is the case pick your color. There are the very nice courses that there is quit a difference where the black tees are on a whole other tee box in a different location, maybe not quite in line with the fairway, that is reserved for the more accomplighed players, e.g. not me!
  11. I don't like slow play either, BUT I have to say that unless it is deliberate I can't fault too many folks. There are people that are just learning how to play and they have to learn on the course and not just on the range, we've all been there. I am very tolerant to a point of course. I will say that I get totally annoyed at people I see messing around and hitting multiple balls on the same shot. One the other side of the coin I DON'T like to be pushed either. I am not a slow player however, there are days. If that is the case I will always try to let a two some or three some depending how good they are to play through. I've had people hit balls into me because they didn't like the pace that we were playing, this is disrespectful and dangerous and there is no place for this on the golf course.
  12. No importance for me at all. My bag actually looks kinda funny when I go to the course, there are so mannnny that have bags that looked like they are sponsored. Not that there is any problem with that but you can't tell me that every one of the same brand works for you better than others. My bag is Nike, Titleist, Orlimar, Cobra, Rife, Callaway, Cleveland and balls are either Precept U-tri tour, Maxfli Black max or Callaway HX tour. So as you can see I'm all over the place. I use, or try to, use what works for me. I love titleist irons and hate their drivers etc.etc. Oh yeah and an Ogio carry bag. For what it's worth.

    Tee Height

I think I am of the minority to say that I like my ball tee'ed low. However, it does more depend on the driver. I have found (for me) that my Nike SQ likes it tee'ed low. I find that when I tee them higher I tend to get more side spin on the ball and slice it.
  15. Yes, that is exactly my issue. When looking at both the Cleveland and Cobra I can see the issues that you mention. I've heard from reading some club reviews that the Cobra has issues off the fairway because of the deep head. That is why I am also considering the Callaway X.
  16. I don't think that is just about the game, it is about life in general. Too many times I see the total lack of respect coming from young folks these days and I'm in my 30's. I am not niave enough to think that it happens everywhere but I think there is a lack of discipline that adults don't act upon. I will give you an example. I was active duty military for ten years until recently. It was obvious that when the military went from a learning and beat down military boot camp to a "kinder and gentler" military. I started to see the new recruits complaining more and more about everything and talking back more to their senior supervisors. It is MUCH different than it was ten years ago. I think some of it is the sign of the times and heck you can't even yell at a minor these days for fear you'll get arrested or something. I know that is a little exagerated but you get the point. Anyway, I think you made the right decision, don't waste your time if the adults (faculty) don't care let alone the kids.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I did hit the Cleveland steel and liked it as I liked the SZ as well. The Cleveland was longer but the Cobra felt a little nicer at impact. I haven't hit the comp yet in either Cleveland or Cobra. I have never tried any of the Titleist fairway woods, I guess because in the past I have tried all of their drivers and never liked them that much. By far the easiest to swing was the Callaway X and was as long as the Cleveland. My issue is that with the woods I have now I can not use a tee, I have to hit them off the deck if I am using them off the tee box. I want something that I can do both.
  18. I would say yes by find out what your doing wrong, try to fix it and then practice practice, practice. Your swing is different then everyone elses, you need to find what works the best for you. Make sure those lessons are not changing your whole swing unless you really have bad mechanics.
  19. I am looking to replace my old Orlimar fairway woods, while their distance is great they tend to put a lot of spin on the ball when slightly mis-hit. Any suggestions/thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated. I do have it narrowed down to the Cleveland Launcher Comp or steel, Cobra SZ (older version since I didn't like the F speed), Cobra Comp, and the Callaway X. I didn't care for the Taylor Made, or the Tour edge. I have also hit the SQ and HiBore with ok results. Any thougths on the ones that I have listed or any that I might have overlooked? Also,I am not necessarily looking for a players club so to speak.
  20. Hmmmm looks like Eric deleted his post with the pictures for some reason. Maybe he isn't allowed to post them, I don't know. I have them but will not post them unless Eric says it is ok.
  21. You think SasQuatch is bad, did you read the Nike poster in one of the pictures? Left one top right corner, SasQuatch SUMO 2 (squared) eeeeek! Who is naming these things! Is Godzilla next!?
  22. I have a Zevo compressor that I got a few years back. Talk about loud!? Sounds like hitting a hammer against a hollow steel wall. It would actually hurt my ears hitting it and everyone at the range would always stop what they were doing and look over!
  23. Yeah, I like the current version (I just got the tour version) but man! I believe in the saying function over form but this is a bit ridiculous.
  24. While at a local golf shop a Nike rep stopped by to show the owners the new upcoming woods. They are the new SQ's and they look quite different than the current one's. The "band" is pushed back even more and the face and top line are very square looking keeping the same 460cc. The sole is a little different and the shaft is now black and yellow. They also made the headcover much easier to put it on and take it off. Sorry no pictures. He said will not be out until Feb 07 so you'll have to wait for a while. I don't know if there has been any buzz about this yet but I figured I would let you all know. It was kinda cool seeing in person a prototype for the next version. He also mentioned that the new irons (not sure which version) would be out in Nov. I think.
  25. A golf store near-by has one of Tiger Woods back up putters (made personally by Scotty Cameron of course) which is authenticated with a letter hand written and singed by Scotty. Price? LOLOLOL You'll never guess! And you think 2k is a lot? How about $50K yes, that is NOT a typo, $50,000. And this is his back up putter which doesn't look like it was ever used. EEEEK! If Tiger keeps playing like he has I wonder what that putter will be worth in say 30 years??
