  1. I think the leading edge of most clubs are not perpendicular the the shaft due to lie angle. So leading edge of clubface will never parallel to the spine angle
  2. I think heavier club may get the ball goes farther if the limiting factor is how fast you can swing you arms and turn your body. i.e. if you can only swing a zero weight club at 100mph, than keep decreasing the club weight will not help if you already can swing your current club at that speed. However, if you are strong and can swing a heavier club without decreasing you swing speed, then it will help.

  4. I am not a better player, but I would recommend "Beat the Bogey man" by Dr. Travis Fox. Also, you may want to do what he recommends when practicing on the range by hitting only 5 balls on 5 different targets (i.e. each ball have a different target) for each club. And while on the course do the "check out", "check in" thing between shots, and just enjoy the scenery while walking to your ball.
  5. Just imagine that you are holding a knife with the point pointing at the club head and swing trying to stab something (may be someone's bun :) )in front of the ball towards the target.
  6. Your swing is perfectly fine! The key for a good swing is that you return your shoulder to your address position with a spine tilt away from the target at impact, which you somehow managed to do it. Apparently, you sway away from the target necessitate that you rotate your right shoulder further back in order to bring it back to position at impact.
  7. If you look at the pictures carefully, you will notice the angle between the left shoulder and the left hip barely changed from top of back swing to impact.... The left hip goes from roughly 45 degrees right of target line to roughly 45 degrees left of target line. The left shoulder from 80-90 degrees right of target line to parallel to target line. It looks like the right hip slide towards the target and the left hip rotate left 90 degrees and up.
  8. I asked the question because I was having quite a few consistency problems with fats and thins no matter where I focus on just the moment before I move my club back.(in front of the ball, on specific places on the ball, inside of the ball etc.) Then it darns on me that if I want to chop something with accuracy down to millimeters with a knife, I would like to know where the knife edge is before I lift the knife. So, I experimented (after all the usual alignment stuff) with looking at the bottom edge of the club face just before I move my club back, then the rest of the time on specific points on the ball. My consistency went way up and hitting the ball solid with this subtle change. I think if I concentrate on looking at the ball, I have lost my reference of the club head momentary and that makes a big difference.
  9. I guess I have to clarify the question a little bit more. I assume most people will look at some part of the club face and some part of the ball and may be back and forth between the two. or may be the grass surface etc. So, do you fixate on that one spot just before the take away and during the backswing etc. or, for example focus on the bottem edge of the club face just before the take away and then move the focus to the ball during the backswing?
  10. Just before you start your backswing
